I'm here!
My week was good, I finally finished this comic that I've been working on for two and a half years.

Two and a half years? Then it must've come out really good. Did it?

Nope. I could have gotten it done in half the time if I hadn't been so lazy and kept going on hiatuses. Over the past few months I finally buckled down and finished the thing.

I'd like to discuss the 24th chapter of the book of Alma, if you don't mind.

The story of the Anti-Nephi-Lehis and how they displayed amazing peace and charity towards those who were antagonistic towards them.

It's difficult to choose; the entire chapter is marvelous. The eighteenth verse sums it up quite well, though.

The Anti-Nephi-Lehies expressed gratitude to God even in times of trial and affliction. What afflictions did the Anti-Nephi-Lehies face as a result of their conversion?

They were persecuted by those Lamanites who did not accept the teachings of Ammon and eventually had to leave the area for Nephite territory when the Zoramites, Amalekites, and remnant Lamanites became hostile to the point where they were becoming a serious threat to the Anti-Nephi-Lehis' existence.
Before that, though, they were the victims of a violent massacre brought on by their brethren. Yet, even in the face of such anger and hatred, the Anti-Nephi-Lehis remained firm in their faith and loyal to their covenant of peace, knowing full well that the temporary pain of death was nothing compared to the eternal reward that awaited them.

Despite these afflictions, what were they grateful for?

They were grateful that the truth had been restored to them, that they had cast off the erroneous traditions of their ancestors and had come once again to a knowledge of the true nature of God and the divine mission of the Saviour.
They were also grateful that, through the Atonement, they had been forgiven of the grievous sins of their pasts and were able to turn over a new leaf, becoming the complete antithesis of what they once were.

that's really good. Thank you for your knowledge.
ok, here's a question for us all: How can gratitude to God help us face trials and afflictions?
