The scenery was downright dull. The bleak look of the open savannah looked overly disgusting to Mauja today. Too.....green. He had wandered away from the forest, from terrorizing that small pup, for this?
No freaking way.
He had to find something interesting, or else it would kill him. He wasn't up to 'flying' again, for his muscles still ached from the last flight. And he wasn't up to making females feel awkward, either.
What. To. Do?

Ade giggled loudly as he rolled around on his back amongst the savannah grass, waving his orange tipped paws up in the air. Again, the young wild dog was out by himself again and was having a good time. The pup reached over and grabbed a piece of grass from the ground and started chewing on it, his tail wagging really fast. This was so fun!

What's this, what's this?
The sound; it was unmistakable. It brought a smile to Mauja's face, and he shook his fur lightly. He trotted slowly, slinking along through the tall grass that came up just above his elbow.
It didn't take long for him to find it. Honestly, it wouldn't have taken long for a blind bird to find it. The orange paws sticking out from the newly green grass was a beakon, and Mauja decided to stop and watch them move for awhile.
Small dogs had always peaked his fancy; he was a little too comfortable around them, and was dangerously close to fondling one the last time he was around one.
He layed himself in the grass, paws outstretched, and just watched and waited.

It wasn't long before Adejola noticed a new scent in the air. He frowned and rolled over on to his stomach, his orange paws hidden beneath him. What ever could that be? With eyes full of curiousity, Ade stood up and peeked over the grass, looking around for the source of this new smell. Well, that wasn't hard! The canine stared in surprise at the large cheetah that was laying not too far away, staring in his direction. "Uh.... Hello! You're a cheetah, right?" He called to the large cat as he pushed his way through the grass, moving closer to the other. Clearly Mauja wasn't the only one who was too comfortable with the other.

Raising an eyebrow, Mauja crawled closer to the pup, making sure his own face was less than an inch away from the pup's. "Well, aren't you a smart little boy?" he smirked, in a nice-but-creepy way. If there was something in the world he adored more than his stunts, it was definitely little puppies.
"Why is a small, fragile little thing like you out here all by his lonesome?" his gaze ran over the light brown frame that stood before him.

Adejola blinked at the nearness of the cheetah's face before he grinned, his long tongue flopping out the side. "Yep. I've got a cheetah friend too! Her name's Pilate! She's real fun to play with!" He exclaimed, wagging his tail in a blur. He was too naive and trusting to even notice the larger male's creepy grin and his choice of words. "I'm playing in the grass. It's fun to hide in and it tickles my nose." He giggled.

"Oh, so you have a nice little cheetah girl to play with?" Mauja's eyes widened in almost fake shock. "You know, I have some girl cheetah friends that I like to play with, too." he smiled; though, his version of playing probably wasn't the same as this small pup's.
"I don't think someone as big as me can hide in the grass." he puffed out his cheeks and his chest, trying to make himself look bigger. Mauja had surprisingly turned out to be very good with little ones; it's the older creatures he had problems with.

"You do?" Adejola wagged his tail like mad. "Is your friend's name Pilate too? That'd be so cool!" He laughed and jumped to his feet, his eyes lighting up in delight as he watched the other male. "I betcha if you lay down in the grass you could hide in it! But you're right, you're waaaaay to big to hide in it while standing up! That's cool!" The pup was so excited to meet someone new that he already considered himself and this new cheetah best of friends. "My name's Adejola!"

"No no, I don't know any young cheetahs." Mauja smiled; the only young cheetahs he knew were his own cubs. "It is pretty cool!" his eyes widened, happy at the compliment. "But you know, this strange lioness said my legs were ugly!" he stuck his tongue out and grimaced at the thought. Mauja cherished his legs deeply, and absolutely hated the time he met that rude lioness.
"My name..." he moved his paw over his chest. "..is Mauja."

Adejola gasped, "No she didn't! You've got cool legs, not ugly ones!" He exclaimed as he jumped to his feet and stared up at the cheetah. "My name's Adejola, but you can call me Ade! Most people I know do." He wagged his tail and looked around before grinning back up at the large feline. "Do your legs make you go really fast? Cause me and my friend raced and she was super, super fast! Are you fast too?

Mauja found that he was quite enjoying himself. "Well, if I didn't run fast, then I wouldn't be a very good cheetah, now would I?" he raised an eyebrow at the small pup, smirking all the while. "But I suppose I might slow down a bit when I get older." He half laughed, sort of fretting growing older. He was, after all, in his prime and having the time of his life.
"Maybe I'll be a creepy 'ole geezer...."

"So all cheetahs run fast?" Ade asked in amazement as he stared up at the other with awe. "That's so cool!" He bounced in place, his tail proudly wagging as he eyed the other. As Mauja began to speak of getting old, Adejola giggled. "Nonsense! You couldn't be a creepy 'ole geezer cause you're not creepy. You'd just be an old person! You could be a grandpa. I've got a grandpa and a grandma." The juvinelle beamed happily at this exclamation as if it somehow made him special to have grandparents. "I can't run super fast, but I can smell really good!"

"Well, I certainly hope that all cheetahs run fast." he tucked on of his legs up so it looked like a nub. "Unless they're crippled." Mauja wiggled it around as he started to lose his balance.
"Well, I wonder how soon I'll be a grandpa then." He laughed, not really wanting to see his little ones grow up to do the things he's done in that area. They all seemed too cute, too special. So innocent, unlike himself. It was a wonder that he didn't have more than ten cubs.
"A good nose, eh?" he inhaled deeply, smelling little other than the grass around them. "So how far can your nose smell, hm?" he leaned in close, analyzing the small soft tissue on the pup's face.

Adejola gave a horrified gasp as Mauja pretended to be crippled but then laughed as the cheetah fell over. He wagged his tail and bounced around his new friend. "Yeah, yeah, I've got a great nose! I can smell really far and really good. Like, like you came from here!" Ade sprung up and, with his nose to the ground, started back tracking Mauja's walk to get here.

"Well then, I guess you'll never lose me, then." Mauja rolled over onto his back, starting to bask himself in the day's sun. Messing around with the small pup proved to be exhausting; he was starting to wonder whether he'd have enough energy for his own little ones.
"And I suppose you'll always be able to find your way home, wherever it may be on the big savannah." He almost wish he had a nose like that. With all of his travels, finding his way home had been excrutiatingly hard for the flirtatious cheetah.
