Bi'ndoto was finding it increasingly difficult to be in a bad mood on days when he was scheduled to meet up with Giza. No matter what had been happening at home, or around him in the rogue lands, he always felt his spirits lift, in the oddest way, when he thought about going to hang out with his one real friend. His best friend, by extraordinary standards. He wondered, the only thing he had ever really felt any kind of concern about, if she was in any way similar. If she looked forward to seeing him as much as he did her.

Doto spent a lot of his time being moody and silent, just watching his family and growing increasingly distanced from them. Yes, he was devoted to them in a silent, dangerous way, but he didn't actually like any of them, as individuals. And now that he was older, he felt the pressing need to be better than his father now more than ever.

But he was confident that he would. And soon.

Home had been weird recently. He wanted to get away from the den, and had spent a lot of his time seeking out a new place to live, on his own. Or for something to take him away from these too familiar lands.

Yawning, the large, young lion stretched himself across the grass, basking in the sun as his dark fur warmed up. He rolled onto his back, letting his stomach share in the relaxing heat of the sun. He felt like napping, but knew he would not be able to drift off. Giza would be arriving soon.

Today was the day. As Giza stalked through the grass, she was sure today was the day. She had found something out. A direction. Somewhere she could start looking... and she didn't know how to tell her father. A creature she had tortured had seen her brother. Knew what direction they had gone in. Today was the day she was cnvinced it was time to go and find the brother who had been stripped from her and her sisters... one step closer to killing Karndess. And now she finally had a place to start. Move towards the mountains. And it would be sad to leave her family... but she would get her brother and bring him back. Then she would be the best of the siblings.

She would do what her father had failed to do. She would earn his love and respect, prove her greatness... maybe bring him the lioness' head on a pike while she was at it. Yes, that sounded about right. This was what she had wanted. What she had always wanted... but...

She could have left days earlier. But if she had... Doto wouldn't have known where she had gone. He would have come to their meeting spot, and she wouldn't have. She would be gone, and would never come back. Their lives... the fun they had together... all that would be over. And in such and odd way... she didn't want to leave without him. She would miss her family, but wanted to do this without them. But she couldn't leave Doto. Not Doto.

And so Giza's mind was set on what she needed to do. She was going to bring him with her, kicking and screaming if she had to. Because she couldn't leave him behind. He was her friend. Her best friend. The only person who really got her... And he was waiting for her. And she smiled the very second she laid eyes on him.

Knowing he had no choice but to come with her made her so much happier. She wouldn't leave him behind. "Oh Doto!" She grinned, walking up.

Crap. He was bigger than she was again.

The impressively large lion young lion stood when he heard Giza's voice, standing at his full height just to show it off. He knew it wouldn't take long for him to catch up to her again! And surpass her. Now he was sure he would remain larger, as his parents often said to the others that their 'growth spurt' would even out soon. Not like it mattered. He was almost as large as his father now, and it emboldened him. He needed to get away from that too small den, and soon.

"Hello, Giza!" He said, grinning at her. He saw she had noticed. Strutting closer, he inclined his head toward her in greeting. She was the only person he ever wanted to impress. His siblings he wanted to be better than. His father he wanted to surpass in an even grander fashion. Everyone else he just wanted to have scared of him, or in no way involved with him at all.

He sat down, wondering why she looked a bit determined. They hadn't made any plans for this meeting, after all. The boar had died, and their fun with it. but it had been worth it. It was nothing like Doto had ever experienced.

He wanted to do it again, and soon.

"What's up?"

Giza sighed. Why was he so big? Now if she had to knock him out and drag him off it was going to be so much harder... But who knew? Maybe he would come without her having to do all that if he liked her as much as she liked him... because she would be leaving, and who knew how long it would take her to come back again? If she never found her brother -which she would, that was not the point- then she would have never seen him again.

"Well... I've made a choice today." Giza told him, sitting down and grinning up at him, "I've decided I'm leaving. Maybe not forever... but who knows? But I've found out what direction my brother was taken... and I intend to go and find him, no matter what. And I'm going to torture that woman until she begs for mercy and then go some more and leave her with no arms and no legs to think about what she's done." She grinned her sadistic grin. Oh yes... now there was a face she could hardly wait to see on the lioness' face when she finally got her claws into her.

"But anyway... I'm leaving. Today. As soon as I can..." She looked up at him, as meaningfully as Giza ever looked at anyone, with a glint of honesty in her eyes. "I want you to come with me Doto. I thought about it and I don't want to go without you... You're my best friend, and I think this is our chance to prove that we are the best. And I want to go with you. No one else, you and me." She told him, grinning, "What do you say? Want to leave all this behind and go with me into the great unknown?"

Doto looked a bit stunned, but only for a fleeting moment. His generally impassive expression restored itself as he considered her request, his eyes reflecting how his mind was working. They darkened as he thought about helping her get the revenge she wanted. He had never liked her being so betrayed, and had always told himself that if the opportunity came, he would help repair that damage. And now he had the chance.

But leave? Now? What of his family? Would they even notice he was gone for good, considering how much time he spent away from the den anyway? He had said he was looking for his own place to live. Maybe they would just think that's what had happened. He really wasn't being persuaded to stay by thoughts of them. He knew them all to be reasonably capable, though annoying and misdirected. He had no purpose staying with them.

He looked at Giza, his deep red eyes bright with a dangerous glow, and nodded.

"I'll go anywhere with you," he said, not blinking, his voice even and determined, "and I'll help you get your brother back. And make sure you get that revenge you want. I don't want you to go without me, either, so I guess that works out. Besides, what would I do with my time if you weren't here to keep me company? I don't have any reason to stay here. I'm not attached to this land. The only thing that kept me from wandering away was you, anyway. So let's just go."

Giza was a little suprised. He was going with her. He was doing with her. That meant everything. He wasn't going to leave her. He would go anywhere she went. And that... That meant something. More than something. That meant everything. She was his reason for staying around... did that mean he was hers then? Someone who was really hers, and would stay with her no matter what? A grin cracked across her face. So much like her mother with her father... Kyra... staying with each other no matter what happened. A new part of her family, but then, she was sure that Doto had been hers from the moment she met him.

"You'll go anywhere?" She grinned, walking forward and resting her paw on his face, "Anywhere I go? Do anything I ask of you?" She tilted her head curiously, her claws extending, "Tha kind of devotion is really something, now isn't it?"

Her own look was as dangerous as it had ever appeared. Her look of... being content, but wanting something else at the same time.

"I wouldn't have gone without you, you know? I was planning on knocking you out and dragging you away with me if I had to." She told him, tilting her head thoughtfully. A grin spread across her face once more, "So... I want to know... if you want to stay with me as badly as I want to stay with you... You know what I was willing to do to keep you... What will you do to keep me?"

The young lion watched her impassively, save for his smoldering eyes, not flinching under her paw or her claws. He listened to her tell him what had been in her head, grinning inwardly at the idea, despite it being a fairly threatening one. It did not surprise him in the least, and more than that, it did not worry him. He tilted his head slightly, toward her paw, letting her claws move into his fur.

"I'll go anywhere you go," he affirmed, "do anything you want me to. But you'll do anything I ask of you, in return. That's how it's always been, and that's how it's going to stay."

He continued to look stoic as she grinned, though his ears lowered slightly, and he thought for a long moment about how to answer her question. He realized there was very little he wouldn't do to keep her near him. The idea of being parted from her was nearly impossible to imagine. He wouldn't be the same Doto. With her, he had found who he was.

"I don't have to knock you out and keep you here, because I don't want to stay here. But if I had to fight you to keep you, I would. But then, if I had to prove myself to you, to make you want to stay, I'd do that, too. I'd let you make that art you like so much. On me."

Giza looked suprised for a moment as she watched him. Stunned and rendered speechless, which was almost as hard to do as it was to make Doto actually look excited about something. She took a deep breath, her face slowly lighting up at the thought... he would let her do her art on him? Nothing too serious of course... but the idea of... In that moment, Giza didn't think to call it or think of it that way, but what she felt was the very deepest affection - if not love - for Doto.

She traced her paw over the skull on his shoulder. "You would...? Now that is proof if anything... real proof... forever marked that you and I belong together, and with no one else." She told him, her voice truly earnest for once. This was what she wanted more than anything. Proof. Real tangible proof on his skin that he was hers... and the mark would prove that nothing could keep them away. This was permanent.

"You have a skull here..." She told him, touching his other shoulder, "This proves that you were born. Something that shows you're alive and unique. I will give you one here... the same skull. That proves that we'll stay together, no matter what happens. I can always find my art, no matter what. And you'll always know, no matter what, I'm beside you there." She extended her claw, resting it on his sholder, "So you're the same on both sides... one means you were born to kill. One means you were born to kill with me."

Doto watched her, his expression absolutely unreadable. He thought for a moment, considering her words. They made sense to him. He couldn't help but feel like this was something he wanted. Needed, even. His skull marking was a trait of his father's, but he had always been without a matching one. Something that was his own, or, as was now being suggested, something that was Giza's. He nodded at her slowly, locking his eyes on hers.

"We'll do that, then," he said, his voice not showing the slightest hesitance. He was not the kind of lion to fear pain, and that part of the process hardly registered with him. He wanted her to leave her mark on him, and he would wear it with pride. The natural skull was a test to his character, a constant reminder of his greatest rival. Hers would be the complete opposite. The symbol of that which he would devote himself to, with all the better, if not quite 'good', parts of himself.

He grinned at her then, tilting his head, "but you better make it good, or I'll be mad."

"Darling, you've seen my work before." She told him with a grin, licking his shoulder where she intended to leave her mark. "I have every intention of making this my finest work... and don't worry, I won't kill you by accident. I can make the perfect mark on you here..."

She unsheathed her claws, "Now sit still... if you move, then it will be your fault if it isn't straight." She set her claw into him, not getting down to his skin just yet, but just cutting off some of his fur so that she could see exactly where everything would go. She had burned the image on Doto's other shoulder into her brain from the moment she had known him. She didn't even need to look to know what it would look like. She could give an exact replica.

"Deep breaths now..." She told him, her voice a happy smooth whisper. This was, to date, her favorite moment. It surpassed the boar by leaps and bounds. Doto was a willing subject... and oh, how she had longed for somoene who would let her do this without moving. Now she had him. Oh Doto... she would have asked where he had been all her life, but she had known him so long she had forgotten what life was like without him.

She grinned, setting her claw on his skin. "Now... remember, don't move. Because this... is really going to hurt." Then she dug in, not holding back as she made him bleed, starting with the top of the skull and making her way down.

Doto nodded. He had seen her work. He trusted her completely.

This was interesting. He had never been on this end of it before. Pain was something he loved to study, whether he was inflicting it or watching Giza do it. But he had very little experience with it himself, generally crafty enough to avoid hurting himself. He found himself excited by this strange little courting game they were playing, eager to study his own reactions to pain, and to see from the first hand what it had been like for their victims.

The one difference being he was not a hostage or being tortured against his will, so he lacked any kind of terror or stress induced insanity. But that was fine. This was more than enough to keep his mind turning.

"I won't move," he said lowly, growling when she dug her claw into his shoulder. Well, that certainly hurt. But he kept his expression level, though his eyebrows furrowed in concentration, and he growled as she worked, his red eyes matching the blood that escaped from the flesh she tore away to make the mark.
PostPosted: Sun May 31, 2009 9:12 pm

Giza grinned, taking quick glanced up every now and then to see Doto's face. His eyes were so intent on his own blood... like he had never seen it before. Possible, she supposed... she had never bled that much before, personally. But oh... she loved the look of Doto's blood. Something about it was just... better. She couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was, but it just... Well, it was better. Much better.

"Almost done love." She told him, finishing the outer skull before she traced around the inside, giving it double-lines. It would be the eyes after that... and then she would be done. Far too soon for her taste. She was so tempted to do more... go further... But no. One had to show restrain. When she got greedy, she wound up killing her art projects. And she didn't want to kill Doto. Inner skull finished... now the eyes... she just had to do the eyes and she would be all done.

She traced up, small holes. First one, then the other and then a smaller one for the nose when she was finished. She grinned, leaning forward and running her tongue over his blood, grinning at him. She would have bet that the skull's teeth hurt the most. So many nasty small jabs... but she was finished. Her mark was there. And it was a scar on him now that would never go away.

No matter what.

Doto continued to growl as she worked, though he was quickly finding it easier to regulate the pain, to deal with it and then, after a few moments, to analyze it. He was fascinated by the feeling, so raw and intense, and by how controlled it was under Giza's guidance. He acknowledged that she was not playing nice with him, just because it was him, and that was even more exciting. He watched his blood fall and was exhilarated by it.

He looked at her when she said she was near done, hardly noticing how long she had been at it. When she finished and licked at the wound, making it hurt in a new and different, but no less fascinating, way, he looked at it and nodded. It would scar nicely and, he thought, would be a good partner for the mark on his other shoulder.

"At least it's not ugly looking, though it's hard to see with all the blood," he said blandly, his voice not reflecting any of the pain he had just suffered through. He didn't move just yet, not trusting himself to, and not wanting to embarrass himself at this point. He hadn't noticed, but he was working hard to be impressive.

"So that's it then," he said, fixing his eyes on hers, "I'm yours, and you're mine."
PostPosted: Sun May 31, 2009 9:40 pm

"A marriage between two sadists." Giza grinned, kissing his cheek, leaving lip-marks made with his own blood on his fur as she looked down at the mark she had left on him. It looked good... oh so very good. And it felt good to know that it was her doing... all her doing... And now they were connected forever. The artist and her subject... and she would never stray far from that mark. Never. "I think it's sexy, don't you?" She grinned, laughing and licking her lips.

"Don't worry, we'll get that washed off a bit later. I know a stream that's on our way." She grinned, stretching out and beginning to walk, "Come on then. I tortured a little bird..." Though it had been neither little, nor a bird, "and it told me the general direction my brother was taken in... and I really made sure that it kne what it was talking about. After all... I said I would only let it live if it told me the truth."

And by the end, it had frankly wished it had been dead with what she had done to it. And it would have been such a dissapointment if it hadn't held out for as long as it did. "And you've always been mine Doto. I've always been yours. Now we both have proof, right there on your shoulder, and like me, it isn't going anywhere." And if he tried to get rid of her... well, she would make sure that at least mentally, he would never get away from her.

Doto nodded, moving to follow her. He limped a bit, the pain in his shoulder moving down his leg, but he largely did well to keep his footfalls firm. He listened to her with interest, tilting his head.

"That's fortuitous," he said, about the animal that had known of her brother. He wondered what the chances were. But he could only guess, distracted quickly by other thoughts. He would have liked to see what she had done with it. Like what they had done with the boar, maybe. Then he thought about the skins they were going to wear, and wondered if they would have a moment to get them.

"So now we know where to go? That's always good, for the start of a mission. Well, where ever you lead, I'll follow. Not even follow, I'll just be right next to you." As if to prove this, he bounded, albeit painfully, up to walk beside her.
