Doc Shuffled down the street, looking suspiciously at every passerby...He thought he saw a familiar face in the dust, but he quickly dismissed it as such and continued walking down the street..

Kate slowly walked around a corner, she couldn't face him... not just yet. Damn him and his dashing southern way. She'd been wrong in the past but she did want him to know she wanted to put it behind them. Sighing, she shook her head Maybe... just maybe she was presumptuous for coming hereto begin with.

He saw a flash of tail, the red, and he shut his eyes, and when he opened them, it was gone... "Ah can't believe it, Ah won't...." It was starting to un-nerve him, He refused to believe she was damned to the same fate... she wouldn't have gone to hell, he had tried to save her from it...

Leaning against a wall, she sighed some hoping he hadn't caught her just yet. Though she couldn't help it, she had to make sure he hadn't seen her go behind the corner. Slowly, she peeked from behind the corner. There he was, Doc, still the same as ever in those eyes. though he looked a bit different now she stil would know his eyes any where.

This time he saw it, He knew her face. It had changed but he would know it anywhere... "Kate ...." he breathed and realized how sad he was... he had made that deal with the devil to save her, and damn the devil if she wasn't here...
He took a step towards her, it was an angry step... Why was she here? Why didn't she listen to him? She never listened to him... " Oh Kate, why have you decided to come heya?" he breathed again... His heart ached even as he fumed.

Her heart gave a lurch. He'd seen her and it was apparent he wasn't pleased to see her. With a heavy sigh, she lowered her head. It was time to face the music but some how the words all stopped in her throat. Taking a deep breath she came out into plain view. "I'm sorry Doc.....I couldn't allow myself to be in Paradise knowing the things I know. " She had started to back up but stopped thinking for a moment. why was she going to run? "Now look hear Doc, We all have our demons we need to confront. I came here Because I had to apologies to you for all that went wrong.." This was a fine reunion indeed... Her ears slouched as she stared blankly at the ground. Quarreling wasn't going to do them any good she was here for better or worse.

Sorry for the marathon post... don't know what got into me...
Doc listened to what she had to say, but he was impatient. He almost cut her last sentence off. "You should have stayed knowing what you KNEW! do you think I just gave everything up... cause I like the pain? Girl I swear." His voice was rising, mostly in anger. He was starting to slip into a really thick almost incomprehensable southern draw. "Ah Don't claim to understayand women, but hunneh, ya muss be the worst one yet!" He said that the loudest and the harshest. He started to turn, and turned back to her "What do you think you are going to fix here?" he asked calmly and cruely. His accent under control " Do you think you can just walk right in here Kate? That things will go back to normal? It doesn't work that way I am afraid..." he trailed off and let the hardness of his tone sink in.
Doc didn't know what else to do, He thought her gone. Every deal he made with the devil, every inch of pain he had suffered was to keep her and his friends safe. He had figured only Wyatt would be dumbass-ed enough to try to meet him. "F-ing Wyatt" he muttered aloud. " Boy got himself in more trouble... than any of his brothers combined..."

For once she started to cry. This hurt, sure she thought he'd still be harboring hatred for her about the paper she'd drunkenly signed. Swiftly she turned her back to him. "I lived out the rest of my human life tortured by how things ended between the two of us. I came to attempt to make amends for what I did..." She trailed off and steadied herself regaining her composure.

Doc heard her break down, and kept walking. He heard her say amends and turned " What are you going to amend Kate? Tell me! How do you plan on doing that... You deserved to be tortured... what you did... to me.. You always were that way.... What ever was best for Kate....then when it wasn't so good no more... Run to Doc to fix it... Well darlin... maybe this time... Doc isn't here to do that..." he knew he was making a scene... but it was a harsh reality she didn't know what she did...
"What do you want Kate?" he asked over his shoulder softly

It was a cold hard truth. She knew that not everything would always turn out as she'd hope. With a heavy sigh, she spoke once more. "I was wrong in Tombstone.. I wasn't myself but I hurt you still and for that I deserve my fate. I had hoped I could have been forgiven but you've made it very clear that you want nothing to do with me.So don't worry Doc, You won't have to worry about me any more I'll take my leave of you." With that, she left. It hurt her to leave, but she couldn't cry in front of him by herself and alone was fine bu no in front of him any more.

Doc heard her footsteps getting softer and he turned to notice she was walking away "Women," he muttered under his breath...
"Kate, Wait" He gritted his teeth, He never EVER chased anyone in his entire human life, why he was chasing her he never knew... he secretly hoped she would turn, but wouldn't blame her if she didn't

Stopping, she stood still only looking over her shoulder back at him. "Yes?" She was waiting for more insults and trying not to show how deeply tormented she had been through the years after his death. If she'd had it all to do over again, she'd have done things differently back then but you only get one chance to do things and she'd hurt him. She knew she deserved her fate here and he'd should be wit his friends while she was tormented eternally.

"Kate, what did you expect me to say hun?" He looked serious " first you make me feel like ah'm seeing ghosts... then you show up... where ah didn't expect you... " His face was still hard as ever, but his eyes were soft... god how he missed her...
" Ah think maybe we should go insyde for a drink?" he turned to lead her to a small house at the end of the street.

"Now you want to be civil? I came to try and make amends with you John Henry and you yell without even giving me a chance to say much." Her tone had a small bite to it though her face remained more calm. Taking a small breath she let out a sigh and gathered her thoughts. She hadn't come to fight with him and fighting right now could result in them both saying something rater regrettable. Turning she began to follow him. "Maybe we should get a drink...."

" Quite frankly, no Ah don't wanna be Civil but, Ah have a duty heya to my fellow man to not let them see me Fall apart and yell at ya heya in the middle of the street!" He heard her use his name, and in some respects it pissed him off, and yet in some small corner of his heart, he felt the glow returning, "Juss like ol' times, Kate... We neva could juss leave it alone could we?" he shook his head " Wha' happened to us Kate? How did we manage... before... ?" he opened the Door to his place, and realized the maid had not yet come... he quickly started picking up items and putting them away..
