Just got done refinishing my old Stevens 820B

Sanded down:

Stained:

Done!

For some reason the wood looks orange in the one picture, but the pic of the stock is a good representation of the actual color. Stain is red mahogany and there are 3 thin coats of Minwax Helmsman varnish. Overall it took 4 days, but only due to the fact that varnish takes forever to dry.

Overall it took 4 days, but only due to the fact that varnish takes forever to dry.

Luckyyyy. Out here, the varnish is dry at the beginning of the stroke by the time you hit the end.

@Fresnel- well it was cool and damp the whole time I was doing it. Plus at 7:30pm in a shed.
