once a thriving island of ancient civilization said to have wings that soared all over the world most of this island is a thriving port town and tourist attraction. This place is unique in that the old stone buildings are still intact preserving the history of this place.
The farther one heads up the slopes, the more ancient the buildings become but the more amazing the fusion of past and present becomes. The large landing ledges said to have launched the mythical flying creatures of legend now host flying behemoths; airships. Large flying machines escort goods and persons all over the world however, only the richest of the rich can afford a trip on one of these luxorious transports. As such, these serve as an almost exclusive transport between kalloni heights and Kousa where they would dock with the high buildings deliver patrons and goods to the wealthy businesses there.

Several crows were perched on top of the ruins, very few flying around. And some of them had their attention drawn to half of a sandwich being carried in the beak of one that had just flown back from the city further down. Vaten turned, adjusting his tail to prepare for a landing on top of one of the broken pillars, flapped his wings several times, and came to rest on top of it. He pecked at the sandwich hungrily after laying it on the crumbling surface, and every now and then one of the other crows would try to nab a bite, but Vaten lunged forward to shove them off the pillar and cawed menacingly at the others.

Several minutes had passed, and Vaten was still stuffing himself even when he was full, but then he saw a girl walking up the stairs which was unusual since no one was meant to be in that area. Vaten took a few more bites from the sandwich and left it behind as he took off, leaving it for the others who fought to get it. He flew high above Zantis, circling her like a buzzard in order to see what types of valuables he could steal from her, "CAAAWW!"

"CAAAAAWWW!!!!" Vaten screeched when the rock hit his left wing and sent him spiraling out of control. He plummeted, frantically flapping his right wing to slow his descent, cawing the whole time on his way down before he landed hard on the ground, luckily avoiding breaking any bones on the rough landing though it did cause him some pain upon impact. He lifted his head while still laying on the ground, glaring angrily at the girl as if he was trying to rub some sort of curse on her, "Stupid girl! CAW!"

He rolled over, reaching out and all his bird features melted away as he grew and reformed into a human boy. He swiped his hand across his side, pulling out a plain dagger and dashed towards the girl, but almost clumsily since he was running over bits of the fallen ruins. The dagger flashed forward, aimed at the Zantis' head, "b***h!"

"Gah!" Vaten staggered collided with the wall and then staggered back when he pushed himself off of it, "Like you can.." Vaten poked the shield with his dagger repeatedly in different spots, feeling the blocked space between him and Zantis and trying to see what type of openings he could use. Normally he would have preferred a more sly attack, but anger sometimes gets the best of him and he would use a full head-on assault. He wasn't afraid of Zantis though, her holding a phone and him being unaware that the thing was actually a weapon, "What are you going to do? Call security or something?"

"Oh hells!" Vaten froze, staring at the tiny weapon that had come from something that looked like a phone. He was standing within point blank range, so it would be impossible to make a move without being shot for it. "F-fine, I'll spare you for now..." he tried to catch himself for the moment of weakness and attempted to make it look like he was in control of the situation. He moved his hand back and sheathed the dagger, but kept his hand on it.

"I work alone..and this is my quiet spot away from the city, you just happened to be invading it," Vaten growled, changing back to the bird he was before and flexed his wing which was stiffened from the bruising. Of course he wasn't completely alone as he made it seem. He did have a family in the city, though not one of the wealthy elite, and every time he had a bit of extra time on his hands he'd go around causing trouble and stealing things from the tourists, one of his favorite hobbies. He wasn't ready to give his name to a foreigner, "And you're one of the rich snobs. Why don't you go back to your own kind..caw!"
