((Yes, Twi, you can kick my virtual butt later if you have a problem with me adding this planet/space station. But since you aren't here, and haven't been since early March, and this guild was dead before now, I'm simply changing things to make this RP more active. ))

"What the hell? You people just sent me out on a different mission the other day! Why am I being assigned another one!?" Echoed down the hallways, coming from the annoyed Carter Sylvian.

The person sitting behind the metallic desk just stared blankly at the young man, "Sir, I'm only giving you the instructions that your faction's commander provided. If you have any complaints about this assignment, please contact the commander directly."

Carter tensed at the mentioning of this; the commander of his faction was awfully big...and tough, and scary...

He huffed out in annoyance, and begrudgingly stormed off down the hallway, to the hangar where his assigned partner would be waiting. He hated this military, he hated the people he worked with, he hated working period. If Carter had life the way he wanted it, he would just be lazing around all day in a large house, surrounded by hot girls.

But no, after Earth was ruined and the Synths took over, all hopes of that lifestyle were yanked away from him. Having no other options available to him, he joined the GG's military. And now, he had to help track down some Biotics from commander Twilight's faction that had gone missing a few months ago. Happy happy, joy joy.

Carter stopped by the entrance to the large hangar, glancing briefly around at the numerous people nearby. Crap, which one was the person he had to go with? He snatched a piece paper from out of his pocket, looking for the name of said person. "Let's see...is that...David Redf- Aw man! Not HIM of all people!!" It was a well-known fact: Back in training camp for the military, Carter and Red did not get along very well. Not that Red was a bad person, Carter just hated working with anyone in this place who wasn't female and at least mildly attractive. "I better not get any more missions after this for a good long while..."

A tainted angel, trapped in her own world of darkness. She last said...

"((Crap, why'd this thread go on the bottom? >_> )) "

And then, she faded away into the fragments of the past.

In fact, David Redfield was not present. The man, two years older than his newly-assigned partner, happened to be in his room with, ah. . . a lovely young lady. His beeper--under a pile of dirty clothes--was promptly being ignored. If this kept up, which it would, then Carter would simply be forced to go looking for his unwanted partner.

((I like your new signature. I really laughed at the "Superiority Issues" screen for Neji (especially with his speaking of n00bs and l33t hax0rs). rofl ))

One thing was for certain: Patience was most definitely not one of Carter's inborn traits. In fact, if you left him waiting for more than 30 seconds at any given time, you were almost guaranteed to get your ear screamed off by the time you got back. But, that was something that also got him in major trouble a few times. Thank god he was good at out-running people, else he'd likely be dead by now. Especially that time he made the mistake of angering the commander... People still laughed at the memory of the coward ducking for cover from the commander's wrath.

After waiting a whole five minutes, Carter had thought he'd completely lost his mind with boredom. And after another ten, he finally decided to ask around for Red's location, if anyone knew, that is.

"I believe I saw Redfield head down that way with someone else about a half hour ago...He seemed busy at the time." Replied the older soldier, a middle-aged brunette woman whom had been in the GG's military for a long while. She happened to be one of the only few people around at the time.

Carter just grunted in response and stormed off in the indicated direction, you could practically see the imaginary skull and crossbones in his frustrated scowl. He stopped in front of a particular door, the one with Red's name printed next to it on an electric sign, identical to all the others in the hall. "HEY, REDFIELD!! HAVEN'T THEY TOLD YOU OF THE DAMN MISSION, YET!?! You better get your lazy a** out here, or else I'll get a Biotic to drag you out with their freakish powers!!!" Carter shouted out at the door whilst knocking on the wall next to it noisily. Just about everyone in the area had likely heard it. Hopefully no local Biotic had heard the mention of 'freakish' being applied to them.

((Yep. Carter is a major jerk, in case you couldn't tell.

It's fun making annoying characters occasionally. xd LOL ))

A bare-chested Red appeared through an open door. He only had a pair of hastily-donned boxers on, and his frazzled silver hair seemed to be ruffled beyond salvation. The man looked back at something or someone in the room with him, and frowned.

"I know," he said to a silent query. "I guess so. No choice." To Carter: "Chill. I'll be out in two minutes."

Red disappeared behind his door again, presumably to get dressed and to find his beeper, somewhere. Carter would just be left waiting at the door, probably in danger of popping a blood vessel, while Red did his thing.

((Guess I can't really stop right there.))

Red soon emerged from his room, where, apparently, Carter was still waiting. David Redfield was clad in jeans and a jacket, demonstrating a complete disregard for military uniform. He did, however, wear military-issue ammo satchels. His silver hair was styled now in the classic 'rainy' hair-do. His confident smile shadowed the room with self-worth and regal bearing.

"Sorry, man," Red said as he slid past Carter, probably pausing the guy in mid-sentence, mouth open. "What mission? I know we're going somewhere, but why?" Red made his was to the hangar, where Carter's ship awaited.

Luckily for Red, he had managed to come out just before the annoying little twerp could start another yelling spree. Carter hurried his pace to keep ahead of Red, superiority issues, after all. "Two Biotics of Commander Twilight's faction had gone missing not long ago. Apparently, one of them is rather valuable to this military. It was during a mission that one of them lost their temper and left the planet, dragging the other along with them." He paused for minute, readjusted his his glasses in a very up-tight manner, then continued. "Their coordinates were last traced somewhere near the Tri-sects' home planet, before the signal was entirely lost. We're supposed to find these two, and since I apparently couldn't do it alone, those morons at the front desk assigned me to go with you." Carter's expression grew very annoyed toward the end of his explanation, it hurt his pride to be told he couldn't do something on his own, that he needed help.

"I swear these Biotics are more trouble than they're worth! I mean, half the time they go missing or get kidnapped by invaders, and the other half of the time, they just sit there and throw you through a wall if you say something bad about 'em!" And this, he knew from experience. He still had the scars to prove it.

Once inside the hangar, they headed over to the ship in the very far back. It's pre-assigned name was Judgment, simply because no one could think of any better name.

Just as they were about to takeoff, Carter tossed a small electronic device at Red rather violently, presumably trying to hurt him in the process. "That thing has more information on our targets, a lot more."

Red managed to avoid serious injury, catching the device easily. Unlike Carter, he was a natural-born athlete, a big brute of a man and--this is hush-hush--partly cybertronic. The reason Carter was assigned Red as a partner was, no doubt, because Carter was likely incapable of protecting himself. Or, as far as the big men were concerned.

As they walked toward the Judgment, Red fiddled with the device, only barely managing to turn it on. They were just about to take off, so Red could only browse the lists of information very quickly.

"Vexis and Ryan Johnson, huh?" Red confirmed. "There's a plethora of information in here, but most of it will be useless." Red made this assumption without asking the brainiac, Carter, however.

Red entered the ship and walked immediately toward the cockpit, where Carter would no doubt expel him from. Red just wanted to look, however. He had no love of piloting, especially of long-distance piloting. Once they had taken off, Red would probably just lean back in a chair and fall asleep.

"And to think," he murmured to himself, "I left bed for this...."
