I can't decide XP
I think SoTN had the best overall maybe because it seemed more suited for orchestra. (Er.. yeah, I play classical instruments. Maybe that's why.)
But I recently started OoE and DoS and I'm surprised. The music isn't as bad as I thought it might be on a DS. The two game music styles are very similar.

It's between Symphony and Dracula X for me. Though I also really like the Dawn of Sorrow one as well. It's hard to choose cause alot of these games have great songs and songs you don't listen to as much surprised

I'm with Lost_Realms, SotN had the best so far. I gotta say OoE is a close second followed by PoR. 3nodding

Hmm, I don't see Lament anywhere on there, which is a bit of a pity.... Regardless of what others may think of LoI, I still can't help but really like that game. Plus I can listen to "House of Sacred Remains" for..... hours, probably, if I'm in the right mood for it. ^^;
That aside, though, I have to say that while nearly every CV game I've played so far has a decent group of songs in them that I love... if sheer number of songs I liked was the only guideline, it'd probably be Portrait. "Invitation of A Crazed Moon", "Gaze Up At The Darkness", "Overture", "Crucifix Held Close", and the re-arranged "Iron Blue Intention", for example... all good stuff in my book. And for some reason, I get kind of charged-up whenever I listen to "Victorian Fear"; it makes me want to run around in a town like the City of Haze, jumping on top of shelves and diving through windows while chasing after monsters. ^^;

I had to pick the poll whore option because, besides the fact that I was a poll whore back when the term still applied, I honestly can not pick which game has my favourite music. I am IN LOVE with pretty much all of the Castlevania soundtracks. The entire series is definitely my favourite, musically. (;

I think my all time favorite Castlevania game with the best music is Super Castlevania 4. The atmosphere and music in that game was perfect.
If we are going by the poll then I would have to choose SotN or Dracula X Rondo Of Blood(the original, not the PSP remake). All the songs in those games I found to be really catchy and I never really got bored of them from playing through the stages.

That's funny, Elliot really seemed to have enjoyed Lament's BGM and i don't remember many great ones myself. Even CoD had lots more cool tracks than LoI; maybe it was cuz it was a much longer game, don't know.
Good point Ariadyne! However, many of the tracks in SotN are just really well done. Not that the other don't have any good ones, I'm just saying that I haven't been able to count as many cool tracks in any other game so far. I agree with you that CV is the saga with the best music. I can't think of any others that have this much quality.

A lot of people have a lot of really great things to say about Symphony of the Night. Now, this may be blasphemous for me to say, but...although I own a non greatest hits copy of the game, I've never actually gotten around to playing it.
I know. I will. I should have, years and years ago. I have many many many other games left unfinished, and a few more never touched (though they are outside the plastic wrap).
I'm a terrible person.

Castlevania Judgment... but since it was not among the options, I chose Dawn of Sorrow.
