It was nice in the shade sometimes, even if running without abandon wasn't a possibility. Summer was certainly coming, Nakawara could feel it. Galloping through the clearing was becoming more and more difficult to do without constant water-breaks in between. Oh, how he missed the chill of winter. Heck, he even missed spring. At least the rains had helped to stop the overheating. Regardless, he was happy enough at this point, wandering through the forest. Now and then enough light would shine through the canopy to catch his attention. It almost became a game, trotting playfully around shining beams and trees without tripping on a stray root.

Eventually he found himself at the edge of a rather tiny clearing, not at all large enough to run around. Too bad. His muscles were already becoming antsy for a good, tiring sprint. It was nice here, though. It smelled good, even better than apples and fresh spring leaves, despite the slight scent of decay that was beginning to float around. Spring flowers spotted the edges of the clearing, many of them drooping in the summer heat. Grinning, the male lowered his head, snorting around thoughtlessly until an unfortunate amount of pollen invaded his nose, causing him to flail backwards in a wholly foolish manner.
