You can read all about it here. Her name is Karen Gillan. She was one of the seers in "Fires of Pompeii" in season 4, and is currently on some other shows as well. (Not as anonymous as Matt Smith apparently wink ) Mind that this is for when Matt Smith takes over in 2010, after Tennant's last christmas special is over.

She's cute enough. Don't remember her in Pompeii, though. I'll have to rewatch it to see if I can figure out which one of the seers she was.
She's Scottish, eh? I wonder if she'll play the part with an accent.

I think She will be a Good Companion. But that's just me. I have High Hopes for Matt Smith and His New Companion. Personally I never liked Chirs (9th Doctor) Really. He had his moments but He left too soon.

Wasn't she the Soothsayer from the Sybleline that you first see fallowing The Doctor and Donna?

She should do okay, as long as she doesn't end up doing a stereotype Groundskeeper Willie thang. I strongly doubt that will happen with The Moff at the helm...

I don't think they are going to over do the whole Scottish thing. She isn't the first Companion to be Scottish. Jamie Was Scottish and he was with the 2nd Doctor. So I am sure she will be a regular Scottish person.

Doctor_Whatsit Awww, I wanted it to be a Cat Person. sad We don't know the character name, anything about the character's background and we haven't seen her costume. How do we know she won't be playing a Cat Person? wink twisted

So I am sure she will be a regular Scottish person. Yeah, but will she actually use a Scottish accent (if she even has one in real life), or is she going to drop it like Tennant did? I wish they'd done a promo pic with Smith and Gillan together. I'm curious to see how well they look together. Not that I want another Rose-style love interest for the Doctor, but hopefully they'll make a good team.
