Holy crap! Open heart surgery?! You're what? 20? 21?!
21, I have Pulmonic Stenosis, which if a fancy way to say, my pulmonary valve leaks (That's the valve that pumps blood to the lungs so they can be re-oxygenated). Had this condition since I was born truthfully. While I'm opened up, they're also gonna close my PFO, which for those that don't know, is a small hole between the left and right side, and quite common in people (1 in 4, and people live normal lives without realizing they have one).
But, irregardless of that, to say the least, I won't be taking a fall term this year. This is due to the fact that, I'll be up in Rochester Minnesota (Mayo Clinic) for a week to recover from surgery, then I can return here (by car or air) for a whole more 6-8 weeks of recovery/rehab. I won't be able to drive for 4 of those.
Upside is that since I'm having the surgery up at the Mayo Clinic, and the surgeon apparently does these twice a week, so on the surgical end I'm not entirely worried. (Granted, I was the 1 in 100,000 to suffer a stroke of some sort due to a bubble study, which btw I didn't need).
