You enter the parlor with a feeling of terror instilled in you. The lights aren't on, so you flick the switch. After a few seconds of flickering, the overhead lamps dimly light the rooms. Faded curtains cover the windows that have melted and warped with age.

You enter a hallway that seems to lead on forever. You cannot see the other side, and there are no doors that you can see at the moment. All that you can see, however, are a seemingly unending row of portraits on the scarlet walls, a dusty burgundy rug, and a table covered with a white sheet every so often. You notice how each portrait is of the same person, but with different features in each one. No two are alike.

After observing a particularly interesting variation, you touch the painting, and the frame falls to the floor. But only the frame falls; the painting is floating in midair. The eyes narrow as if it were alive, and the small grin turns into a wide, toothy smile. It slowly makes its way towards you.

What do you do?

The painting follows you down the hallway. You look behind your shoulder to find that all of the other painting have done the same. You run and run (in those hip shoes of yours) but you trip over a fold in the carpet and knock over a table. The paintings shriek out in laughter, approaching faster and faster.

You get to your feet and began sprinting down the hallway. The ceiling and walls seem to be narrowing as you pass each portrait. Eventually it gets too narrow for you to pass through. The portraits are closing in on you, their twisted, taunting faces and shrill laughter driving you insane.

What do you do?

May I remind you, pretty much anything can happen, so long as it is believable.

I will turn to the painting and say "Why are you chasing and if the reason is for the frame, I am greatfully sorry. It was an accident. So would you like to talk this over a cup my dears." (I'm a girl it makes sense XP) XD

The paintings look at each other with confusion, then look at you with joy. They bring a table from the hallway in front of you and set up some tea. They find some spare candles and place them on the table (unlit).

The paintings give you a slightly chipped cup of Earl Grey and ask you, in a haunting, synchronized voice, "One lump or two?"

How do you respond?

o mai, it seems to have taken a strange turn XD

Glancing up at the portraits funny, I reply with "two lumps, please." Then I sit and wait for my tea.

The portraits prepare the tea as requested and hands the cup to you. Since they cannot drink (due to the fact that they are merely paintings [why they can talk is irrelevant!]) they do not take anything. They watch you as you finish the cup of tea.

You notice that they have failed to light the candles still, which may become an important observation later.

Now that you have finished the cup of tea, you bring the cup down onto the saucer. The portraits grin an evil smile as the saucer sinks slightly into the table. You hear something click. Suddenly you feel something shift under your chair [I forgot to meantion that you are sitting in a chair]. You look down to investigate and find that one of the legs has been lodged into the slightly gapping slit of a section of the hardwood floor. You rise out of your chair. Without warning, the whole floor starts to shake violently, and the two sections on either side of the gap falll like a trap door, sending you falling into complete darkness. You try to scream, but all sound eludes your vocal chords. The only thing you can hear is the maniacal cackle of the portraits as you tumble blindly down into the abyss.

What could you POSSIBLY do now?

Kudos to whoever escapes this one XD may have to throw in a prize if it's REALLY good
