Life had been better, but it also had been worse too. Kallionstiryne couldn't really complain. The day was warm, but not too warm. As summer hadn't come yet. It was still the glory of spring. He loved it. He felt most free around this time. Summer was too hot, winter too cold, Fall and spring were the best. Though Fall was ugly. He lashed his long slender green tail as he moved threw the tall grass. He couldn't hunt during the day because of his bright color on the dull brownish yellow grass.
He didn't mind too much though, it was best hunting at night. It was fun chasing creatures as they stood huddled around, unable to see him as well as he could see them. Oh, the joys of hunting would have to happen later. His fur was rather plain as well. Having only wings as any type of marking. Everything else was pretty much a solid shades of green. His eyes were as blue as the day time sky, which he made stand out more with his items he happened to steal by some non-furred strange creatures that walked on two of their four legs. He watched some from time to time. They were good with their hands, and easy to steal from at night.

Tahnia's ability to hunt was likewise hindered during the day, since her dusty blue fur stuck out as much as green fur might. Being unable to hunt until sunset, she found herself ravenous most of the day. So she'd spent all morning looking for an abandoned carcass or particularly sickly creature to attack. Unfortunately for her, there were very few of either around. Carcasses were always well-guarded and elderly or injured prey were quickly killed off by felines with more natural pelts.
With a sigh, the female continued to scavenge, moving slowly through the tall, dry grasses of the savanna. Her tail twitched in agitation and she wished for sunset to come soon.

Kallionstiryne started to hum as he went. He didn't care if anyone heard him. He had a tune he didn't know where he picked up stuck in his head. "Let time fly bbbby!!" He started to sing. Today seemed like as good as any day to start singing . "Flying in the sky, to let everything fly by!!!" Of course his voice wasn't really that great, so he was probably happy that no one - as far as he knew- was around. His tail flung up in the air and lashed about. He was indeed trying to entertain himself, and it was working rather well at least.

Tahnia stopped when she heard a male's voice singing... rather badly, in her opinion. She sat up, glancing around for the source, then watched the happy-go-lucky mail as he trotted about. A small smirk crossed her features, and she found herself unable to stop herself from giggling.

"BE FREE! In the skys above!!!" He continued, not really sure if he believed he heard giggling or not. Though with the greater part of his curiosity, He went to turn. Though in doing so, he didn't see the rock he just tripped over. And just like that, his green pelt disappeared in the grass. He wasn't sure if that hurt, or if it tickled... "Whoops!!" He called out, but didn't get up fast. He looked at his paws, it'd suck if he broke a leg or two. How'd he live then? Though it seems like he was just fine. He stood up and glanced about. Hoping no one saw him trip. Though, it seemed he was unlucky as he saw something blue.

"Nice voice," the female commented, gazing with amusement at the male cheetah. "Might I ask who you were singing to? And why?" She gently flicked her tail's tip, then wrapped the entire length of the appendage around her feet.

"No one, my dear!" He said with a chuckle "Yet everyone!" He added. He didn't care how his voice was sometimes, but other times he did. Today was in between the two. "And because the world is a joyous place, but the sky is even more fascinating! " If she must know, he wasn't shy in saying what was true. He longed to be able to fly.

"The sky?" She glanced upwards, then returned her gaze to him, a puzzled look dazzling her fair features. "What do you mean, fascinating? It's pretty and all, but I can't say I've ever found it fascinating, myself." She eyed the green cheetah with growing curiosity. What a strange feline he was turning out to be!

"Everything about it is. Like... Why is it blue?!" Was one of his ultimate questions. He had never seen a ocean before, and never knew anything about why things were the color that they were. "And why does it turn dark at night? Sure the sun goes down, but why?" He wasn't sure that there was a real answer to that but he didn't care. Though He did love the night time as much as the day. "And why..... Are their white spots everywhere in the night sky?" He could come up with a dozen more questions, but he only needed a few to get to his point.

Tahnia looked at him thoughtfully. "Wow... I never really thought about it like that. To me, it was always just... there, you know? How do you plan on finding those answers?"

He gave a shrug. He never really thought about getting the answers, but instead just pondering on what it could be. It was much more fun then finding the real answer. "I like to guess better then know." He said to her with a smile. "Like, the dots are really little white flakes of something, just stuck up there. They seem to glow, but really they don't." OF course that was far from the truth. "Just image what everything could be in your eyes, rather someone elses." he winked at her.

"You are a very interesting cheetah, if I do say so myself." She smiled serenely at the green male and gently flickered her long, spotted tail. "My name is Tahnia. What's yours?"

"Why thank you." He said with pleasure. He loved hearing how different and interesting he was. It made him feel that much better about himself then he already did. "Well, you can call me Kallion... For my name is Kallionstiryne." He told her with a nod and a wink. No one ever said his full name. It wasn't really that good anyways.

"Wow, it sounds exotic," she commented, mulling the long name over in her mind. "Kallionstiryne. What's it mean, do you know?" She tilted her head to one side, still smiling.

He shrugged "My guess is as good as any." He said with a laugh. "Just call me Kallion or Stiryne." He said with another laugh. "Or even Dragonfly works." He nodded at her. He didn't really care what his name meant. He picked it out by himself when he was younger. He forgot why though. He also forgot his original name. No matter, not like it really did. For the fact that was his name now and he wasn't going to change it.
"What about you? Do you know what your name means?" He asked her curiously.
