Mission Start: Mugendai Base
Time: Spring 1 Year 103 - Morning

The village of Sundai was certainly a lively little village at this time of the year. Winter had ended, celebrations of the new year had just begun and the spring cleaning was under way. In the small Inn at the entrance of the town, several men were helping haul furniture onto a cart. A single woman with lively brown hair that gave off a glimmer of golden orange in the morning sun seemed to be directing them. Her words were not bossy, but held a certain note of warmth and kindess as the men did their back breaking job. Once all was finished, the woman let out a relieved smile. "Thank you so much for helping me haul this old furniture onto the cart, boys," she said with true gratitude in her voice.

"No problem, Vikka! You've been so kind with helping us watch after the herd, its the least we could do," one of the older men said as he dusted off his hands.

"Yea, Vikka-san! You're Inn has become more of a pub hang out lately for us! We appreciate it," a younger lad chirped in.

Vikka smiled at the three men as they closed in around her, the smell of their sweat stinging her nostrils, but she gave no hint of the distinct body order through any facial features. Instead she smiled sweetly at the trio. "I appreciate the company. I haven't had guests all winter, so it was becoming pretty lonely," the woman replied. "Why don't you boys come in for a cool glass of ale. I know its still morning, but I know you boys can't deny white ale," the woman said as she clasped her hands in front of her skirt as she began to turn towards the Inn. The men couldn't deny a free glass of Vikka's famous ale, so they all celebrated heartily and began to follow her.

Aya stretched her arms over her head in the morning sun. "Mmmm~ I love the sun!" the girl said with a bright smile as she walked along the path towards Sundai village. The road to Mugendai Valley had been such a peaceful one! Traveling under the disguise of normal people had been so much fun! The Tenmoki girl had especially had fun with pretending to be Kana's fiance. Even if Aya was only 15, she was still having a blast with it! She especially like that Jonu was acting as the Uncle, which she had already been calling him. Aya stepped out in front of the old mule that had been carrying Ichi's statue for them. "I love spring time!" Aya sang as she twirled around in the warm spring air. The dew was so fresh on the tall green grass and made the air smell so clean! The pale haired girl had fallen in love with the Kusa Country the moment they had begun traveling in it! She never wanted to leave this peaceful country! Her twirling came to a stop as she noticed the first houses of the small village in the valley. "Oh~ Its such a cute little village!" Aya squealed as she swung her body back and forth as she fell in love. The Tenmoki girl had high hopes that this would be the valley they created the base for Shimagakure in! "Let's go meet the villagers!" Aya cheered, grabbing onto Kana's arm and pulling him with a skip as she headed down towards the village.

It had been many months since the fight in the Rice Country and it almost seemed as if the kunoichi part of Aya had disappeared for good! That wasn't the case for the Tenmoki girl though. She was merely enjoying the down time they group was receiving and more than eager to act like a normal teenage girl, which was something she hadn't done since jonining the academy in Shimagakure. The occasional festivals in Shimagakure had given Aya the opportunity to be a girl, but it had been such a long time since the last festival.

Before heading into the Inn, Vikka blue eyes caught the sight of a speckle of life in the fields of grass. She stopped and turned towards the site with a smile.

"What's up, Vikka?" the younger lad asked, before everyone turned to see.

"We have visitors!" Vikka said with a grand smile as she clapped her hands together before turning in a twirl to touch one of the older men on the shoulder. "Fetch my grandfather, so he can greet them as well," Vikka said with excitement as she began to run towards the entrance of the town. Her heart was pounding so hard as she hoped these travelers were friendly and eager to stay at the Inn. Vikka could already tell that they were eager since two were already skipping their way down to the village. Vikka slowed down to a walk as she stood at the gates of Sundai. "Good morning!" she nearly shouted out in joy as one of the lad's that had been helping her haul furniture came up behind her. "Welcome to Sundai Village," she said quickly, bowing her head so fast that it looked as if she had just nodded. "My name is Sundai Vikka. I'm the owner of the Inn here in the village. I hope you'll come to stay!" the woman said brightly as she clasped her hands together in front of her skirt once again with tension as she tried to contain her joy.

The auburn haired boy walked beside his counterpart, his eyes gazing out over the seemingly endless plains of feathery giant grass. His arm strayed away from him too reach out and touch the fluffy plants whilst he walked, enjoying the significantly warmer weather of the Grass Country. Kana didn't much care for their disguises but it bothered him a bit that Shinichi had paired the two Genin up as a couple too be married, it made him ask if their relationship was that noticeable. After he little fit about the sun and the spring Aya grabbed his hand and began skipping towards the not so distant town that faintly reminded him somehow of Shimagakure. "Alright, Alright!" Kana said as he gave up his foolish attempt to slip away from the crazy woman. Skipping down the path rather quickly they came upon a beautiful woman with sun-burnt brown hair with tints of tangerine peeking through. Quickly she began too start a swift charade which welcomed the false partners. "Heh, You can't tell they don't get too many visitors." Kana said a bit sarcastically in a whisper too the light haired girl. He himself slowly took a bow towards the woman and respectfully said "Good Morning."

Aya's face was plastured with a smile of near amazement as the woman introduced herself. It was as if Aya had never met anyone knew and she was a wide-eyed child seeing someone other than her family for the first time. "Its so nice to meet you, Vikka-san!" Aya said as she grabbed the woman's hands that were clasped in front of her. "I'm Yamato Aya! I hope we can be friends! This is Takeshi Kana, we're from the Rice Country. This valley is so beautiful! May we stay at your Inn? Is that your Inn over there? Can you show it to us?" Aya asked quickly, spewing out so much and so many questions. It was almost like she was twelve years old again, asking more than one question at a time and overwhelming a person. It was a habit she had gotten out of ever since being sent on missions and participating in wars, but this peaceful village somehow reminded her of Shimagakure during its beginning years of peace and solitude. Aya took the woman's hand and began leading her towards her own Inn, but stopped to point out the man with the mule. "Oh! That's Takeshi Jonu, he's Kana's Uncle. I call him Uncle Jonu," the girl babbled cutely keeping on the beautiful smile as she enjoyed herself as a regular person.

The young lad standing behind Vikka was in awe at the cute girl with the bright attitude. The boy had a small crush on Vikka when he was younger and never imagined anyone else to be more energetic and full of life than her, but he had finally met one. "I'll show you around! You'll have time to see the Inn while you stay there. You wanna meet our sheep? They're really cute and soft," the young boy said to the girl, hoping that she would be just a bright-eyed about sheep as she would the Inn.

Vikka couldn't believe the warmness the young girl showed towards her and it reflected in her face as she was speechless to the return greeting. "Yes, Tako-san, why don't you take Aya-chan to see the Sheep. They are rather cute!" Vikka said with a smile as she stepped aside to let Tako take Aya. While he did, Vikka turned to Kana with a smile. "What brings you to Sundai Village? We haven't had any visitors for months," the woman said, curious about where the travelers came from.

As if her face was already straining with the smile she already had, Aya's face glew as bright as the sun as Tako offered to show her the sheep. "Really?" she squeaked in the highest pitch of voice. Aya turned to Kana with a big smile. "Seeyoulater," she said quickly as she dashed off with Tako to meet the sheep of the village. "I've never seen a sheep before! The farm near our village is a rice farm and there are a few animals, but no sheep at all," Aya told Tako as she spoke about the Rice farm that the Tokiha's ran on Shimagakure. "Is it hard to herd sheep?" Aya asked Tako as they reached the pen. The girl tried to still sound modest, knowing that herding sheep couldn't be as hard as what she had been through already...

Quickly questions burst from the pale haired girl in great numbers towards the young woman, Kana was sure that she would be overwhelmed by the enthusiasm that shown through her glowing figure. But with ease she simply dismissed her with a young boy too the sheep pen. "Heh, have fun!" The young man said with a polite smile towards Aya and the boy. Returning his attention to the woman she asked what brought the group to Sundai, Kana felt a lump in his throat grow a tad bit larger in the moment of silence that followed the question. He hadn't expected too be questioned so quickly upon entering the small town, but he figured that it was just human nature to be curious about some things. Clearing his throat in an attempt to summon courage from somewhere deep down in the pits of his stomach Kana began retelling the story he had memorized only a little while earlier. "Well, my fiance, my Uncle, and I are moving somewhere a bit more.. ." Kana paused for a moment in an attempt to think of a word. "Quaint, if you will." He continued with a modestly happy tone. Scuffling his feet for a second the young man nervously then explained "We hail from the Rice country, for family reasons." Kana then took a few steps towards the sheep pen to get a clear view of the young man and his fiance. A small sinceer smile broke across his face as he would continue to explain.

Tako felt pretty important as Aya asked him about herding sheep. "It can be pretty hard! I've tried to train a dog to help us out, but I'm way better with sheep than I am with dogs," Tako said with a little stupid laugh as he hopped over the pen, scaring a few of the sheep. "Why don't you come in and get acquianted with them? Then maybe you can help me herd them to the fields to eat," Tako said with a smile as he invited Aya into the pen and opened the gate like a polite gentlemen. "Oh, watch where you step though," Tako warned her with an uneasy smile.

Vikka awaited the words of the story that Kana would tell as he cleared his throat. His story was rather convincing and it intrigued Vikka quite a bit to the point she glanced over to Jonu, the brave uncle that accompanied the pair. "You two look pretty young," Vikka said to Kana as she turned her attention back to the boy. She shook her head and told herself that she shouldn't judge. There were strange customs in the land to the east. Vikka had heard stories of 13 year olds being wedded. "Oh! Sundai village is very quaint! You two would love it here," the woman suggested to the boy. "Do you two have any skills you could lend the village? Have you herded sheep before or worked in the woods?" Vikka asked.

Kana gave Vikka a small nod in acknowledgment, it was quite easy to see that Sundai was a small peaceful town with mostly law abiding citizens. "Hrm, this town seems great so far!" The young man said with a charismatic smile and charming wink. Glancing back towards Jonu he could see his fake uncle with the mule with grandfather like strength. "Well, I myself paint. Aya, my fiance, is an apothecary." Shinichi was indeed a very detailed man, and Kana was thankful that he had created an alter ego for them too play as. Disguising themselves in another country was kind of fun, you could tell them anything in the world and odds are they would believe you. "I paint landscapes mostly, these endless plains will make the most beautiful subject matter!" Kana said excitedly, his multicolored eyes gazing back from the direction they just came from and remembered the feathery fields. He thought for a moment, determining that an artist would most likely not be a Shepard or a forester. "I have no experience in either of those fields of work, so I'm afraid I'll be of no help in those." Kana said with a small shrug but still keeping his happy-go-lucky attitude.

Vikka was truly interested in Kana's words as he noted that the endless plains of the Grass Country would make such a wonderful painting. "Oh, that sounds lovely!" Vikka said as she imagined the types of paintings that Kana could done. "You must show me some of your work, or perhaps paint me a picture for the Inn. I hardly have anything decorating the place, save blankets, so it would be wonderful if you did," Vikka said to the young man as she placed a hand on his shoulder. "You would make fine coin selling artistry here, I'm sure of it," Vikka added in, hoping to give the teenage boy a hopeful sight of things even if he didn't have any experience in the woods or with animals. "Do you have any pieces with you?" Vikka asked again, taking a step back since she was getting rather close without even noticing it.

Her warm words of inspiration brightened the young mans morning and made him feel a bit warm inside. "Hrm, yes indeed it does. But, I was searching for my painting tools the other day and I seemed to have forgotten them back in the rice country." The young man said with a small sigh, rubbing his head from the embarrassment he had caused himself. "I would be glad too paint you a picture, but without paints and canvas I can only perceive the beautiful fresco in my mind." Kana felt a smooth feeling crawl over him, he had handled the conversation quite professionally in his opinion. Understanding that Jonu and Aya were quite fluid in the deceiving arts he thought of himself as improving his own technique in it. With Aya's show of deception with the soldier and Jonu's skill in almost everything it seemed Kana was inadequate to be part of this super team.

Aya smiled as Tako admitted he didn't really have a good handle on dogs, but he was better with sheep. "Oh! They're so cute!" Aya said, as she tried to pet one from over the fence, but it just ran away from her. "Really!?" Aya asked happy that Tako had invited her into the pen. Cautiously Aya moved into the pen. Sheep were such timid creatures it seemed, but Aya was sure she could handle them since she had managed to handle little Monkmon. "Hey, little sheepies," Aya said as she slowly walked into the pen. Even though Tako had jumped over the fence, a few had scattered, but a new comer like Aya had made even more scatter even in her passive state. Carefully moving in, she watched where she stepped!
