You're playing MegaTen and you find a Terms of Service violator. Someone is kill stealing and is not listening after you asked them to stop. Your first thought is to contact a GM, but for something as small as player behaviour or kill stealing, that should be a last resort. GM's being quite busy making sure MegaTen is the best experience possible, it is best to take the following steps before contacting a GM.
What do you do?
The first step you take when you find someone violating the Terms of Service contact a Game Sage. If you are not sure who the Game Sages are, here is a handy list of all the GS's and their IGNs. Also; if you can gather any evidence such as video, screenshots, or chat logs those will be useful in helping prove your case and solve the situation.
The second step. If you are not able to contact a GS (This should not happen as there is almost always a GS online. If a GS is not in game there is often one in the shoutbox or through a profile pm). Submit a report using Behaviour report section. The case will be reviewed and handled.
Step three. For larger or personal issues, send a report to Contact Us
What about a bug report?
Try switching channels and relogging. If the issue is not resolved, use the ShoutBox or the Bugs/Glitches section. Or contact a GS.
What if I have a question about the game?
Try out the Gameplay Help section. Also, you can ask in the shout in game, hop on the Shout Box, or follow Step One.
For immediate help use the ShoutBox on the forums. You can also leave messages for the GS's through pms and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
All right, so when should I contact a GM directly?
Glad you asked! Well, GMs are busy folk. Working hard to make sure your experience is the best one. Directly contacting a Game Master isn't necessary for most problems.
Sometimes emergency situations arise. Such situations are, but not limited to:
* Mass spamming from third parties (bot accounts that fill the shout/say section with urls, ads, and etc.). This does not include players spamming the boxes with 'dance' and other emotions. Contact a GS for that.
* Hacking/modifying the game.
* Someone impersonating a GM/GS. This does not mean a player who is trying to mediate a situation, but someone who says they are Aeria staff when they aren't.
* Any situation that endangers a minor.
Now, you know when to contact a Game Master directly, and when not to. Following these step ensure your situation is resolved and our GMs aren't interrupted from making MegaTen epic. Very Happy
