Tenryuu runs across the street, listening for both speech and projections. While normally she would project a greeting, the nervous state of her companion forces her to switch tactics. "Hello?" she calls instead, practically leaping up the front steps. After a moment she knocks on the door, and then forces herself to wait.
Inwardly, she begs for a reply. Not because she dislikes Kaya or wishes to dump her on someone, but because she can't offer the explanations she needs to. Setsushi, who has lived in Gaia for longer, or the brilliant Rika, would be far better. At this moment she thinks anyone would be better... or maybe not. She didn't do too terribly, considering.
Still, she's feeling impatient. "Hello?" she calls again. "Is anyone home?"

As Tenryuu suddenly speeds up, Kaya frowns. She's carrying Byou, and she might drop her if she runs! And besides, Tenryuu's bigger than her anyway, so she wouldn't be able to keep up even if she wasn't holding a squirmy dragon-cat! So unfair. Hmph. Well, she'll just go her own speed, then.
Approaching the house behind Tenryuu, Kaya can't help but to be worried. She doesn't like meeting others, and while Tenryuu has said that they'll be willing to use words, she's not convinced.

A monocled face appears in one of the small windows in the newly-installed attic.
"Hello?" Rika looks a moment more, from the red-haired woman to the gray-haired girl, an eyebrow arching. "... Tenryuu?"

"Ah!" Tenryuu is visibly relieved, even though it takes her a moment to actually look up. "I'm sorry to interrupt you, but here was closest. There was a girl, and Byou is hurt," and nothing Tenryuu is saying seems to make sense anymore. She inhales, exhales, and collects her thoughts so she can accurately convey what is going on.
Then again, maybe it's best if Kaya explains herself, since Tenryuu still doesn't know all the details. "Can we come in for a bit? Kaya should rest, and I need to take a look at Byou."

Rika starts to nod-- then stops and glances towards the interior of the room. Her mouth and eyebrows do an interesting dance, and then she replies, "Let yourselves in -- I'll, uh... be a while."
She disappears from the window, with interesting thuds and banging noises subsequently coming from the ceiling of the main room.

Tenryuu raises her eyebrows, but decides not to ask. Instead, she opens the front door, stepping in so that Kaya can follow. She doesn't go too far, stopping at the table and pulling up a chair.
"If you put Byou here, I can take a good look at him. You should rest," she adds forcefully.

Kaya does as she's asked and sets Byou upon the table, giving her a reassuring rub behind the ears. However, she then shakes her head firmly and glares at Tenryuu, planting herself beside the table. "She needs me. I wanna see what you're doing to her."
Despite all of her stubbornness, Kaya is tired. It had been nearly bedtime when she'd stumbled upon the sunny not-a-hole, and it was beginning to show that she was getting sleepy. However, there was no way that she'd be willing to allow Byou to be hurt and surrounded by strangers in this strange new place. But..maybe she could sit, at least.

More bangs and thumps, and then the trapdoor to the attic finally opens, the ladder extending down and Rika then climbing down carefully.
Once on the floor again, she brushes off her robes, pulls her monocle up out of where she had safely tucked it into her robes, and uses it to scrutinize Tenryuu, the child, and the dragon-cat. "Who is this?" she asks after a moment, towards Kaya, but a moment later asks Kaya herself -- "Can you tell me your name, your parents'?
"... And, uh," she says, while raising an eyebrow at the dragon-cat on the table.

"My uncle calls me Kaya." Unable to say all of what she needed to in words, Kaya hesitantly turns to using projections and hopes that Tenryuu and this other lady will continue to use words.
Kaya was named by her uncle, since she doesn't live with her parents anymore. She lives with Seiwa on his ranch in Houkoku, and it's much better. It's not as loud there, and that's where her cat-friends are. And speaking of which..
"This is Byou. Is she going to be okay?"

"I'm not chasing you away," Tenryuu says somewhat impatiently. "But you must be tired. Relax."
While Rika questions Kaya, Tenryuu turns her attention to Byou. It takes her a moment to find the correct leg, but once she does, after a brief observation, she nods to herself. It doesn't seem to be a bad injury, so she should be able to handle it herself.
"She'll be fine," she murmurs, focusing. She's never done this for a dragon-cat before, but it shouldn't be too difficult.

Rika quirks an eyebrow at that hope for 'words,' but her thoughts and feelings remain behind a wall -- as is usual for Rika.
"Seiwa, you say? From Houkoku?" Rika ponders a moment. "When I am able, I will ask the 'Scholars -- hopefully he has put in a report."
As for the dragon-cat... Rika steps a bit closer, though she gives Tenryuu plenty of room. "I am not an anatomist, and have no experience with cats," she says, addressing both Porcelain in an apologetic tone, "so I cannot be much use. But if you need any supplies, Tenryuu...?"
She opens up a private mental pathway with Tenryuu, sealing it off carefully from Kaya, as projected communications are faster: She sees no blood, so there probably won't be any need for bandages or disinfectant -- but if it is broken, they could try to improvise a splint or somesuch.
Or perhaps Rika could get some towels to hold the animal down, if she struggles or panics while being treated?

Kaya shakes her head stubbornly at being told to relax, and reaches forward to gently pet Byou's head. She's sure that Byou will be fine- Tenryuu seems like an alright person to her, and she doesn't think that she would say such a thing if there was any chance that she didn't know what she was doing, so Byou shouldn't worry. It'll all be okay.
Turning briefly to Rika, the little girl shakes her head. She hasn't been gone all that long, and she's often late getting back for bedtime anyway- her uncle won't even notice she's gone yet, probably.

Rika frowns at Kaya, and begins, "Time--" ... then stops herself, pausing, realizing that what she was about to say probably wouldn't make any sense to Tenryuu, nevermind a small child. Instead, she says, "I will inform them in any case so that when he does report, he will know you are safe."
She shifts the topic. "How is Byou's temperament?" she asks, adjusting her monocle. "Will she bite if we attempt to heal her?"

While she is interested in what Kaya is saying, Tenryuu doubts she'd have anything interesting to add. Rather than worry about it, she is content to let Rika handle it, and instead focus on Byou.
While she does, she mentions to Rika that while she doesn't have any experience with cats either, she has at least treated injured mounts before, once or twice. It's not the best preparation, but it will have to do. She shouldn't need any supplies, however...
She confides that if there is anything Rika can do, it's to figure out what the story is with this girl. She's being more forthcoming than she was on the way here, which is a start, but Tenryuu still gets the feeling there's something they don't know. Maybe Rika can find out, while she works on this?
She pauses, however, as Rika brings up the possibility of Byou biting. Tenryuu does not want to have to perform further healing, not if she can help it.

Byou is a good girl- she even sleeps with Kaya at night!- but she isn't..tame, exactly. She's a barn cat, so she might bite if she's hurting, even though she's very sweet.
Uhm..it would probably help if she was the one to hold Byou steady, since Byou knows her and she's been bit by her before, back before she knew that it was bad to pull tails.
