Ky's body had grown in the weeks he had spent trying to open up to his new friend; his white mane had come in now full and ruffled, his frame lean and lanky. He was still very shy though, his growth had not changed that and even though he had been working on this... friendship thing, he found himself at wits end with himself. He must have been a horrible friend to her--she must have hated him inside. His golden eyes narrowed as the dark male sat back and glanced up at the passing clouds, everything seemed so simple from far away, he often wondered if that’s what the clouds felt like as they danced above him so carelessly.
Marina could not have ever hated him. If anything, he made her more and more curious. Over the past weeks, she had watched her new friend grow, and change, and was reminded of the baby frogs they had found the day they met. They, too, had grown. Marina looked to Ky, then back at the river in front of her feet, and smiled brightly.
"Ky?" she couldn't help but give a soft giggle "What are you thinking about /now/?"
“A lot of things.” He managed to say, snapping out of his daydream. “You ever think about what life is like outside of this place?” His ears twitched as he tilted his head slowly, glancing at her monetarily. He felt somewhat better when she was around, though, he knew that for sure. It was good… not being alone. He kind of… enjoyed feeling this way. A soft smile crosses his maw if only for a second before he stood up, sighing. “I am sorry. I don’t mean to bother you with silly questions.”

She was about to respond when he spoke is apology.
"No! No, you're not bothering me at all! we both know I've asked more than my share of silly questions! .. Oh! not that your question was silly at all!" she stood, and laughed off her verbal stumble. "But I actually have. But then I would thing about mama being all alone here, and I felt kind of guilty,..." Her ears fell flat. She love her mother whole-heartedly, that was obvious, though she was sure her mother was glad to see her with a friend.
He couldn’t relate to her attachment at all, so to him, it was kind of silly to act that way—but he would never tell he that’s how he felt about it, he knew it would hurt her. His eyes narrowed as he turned his gaze from her and looked around the area dully. “Well. I was thinking of maybe going off for a day… you know, like… into the wild- away from the pride.” He stated and nodded slowly. “If anything just to get a understanding of what’s out there…” His words faded. “I’ll understand if you don’t want to go with me.” He was inviting her… yet, also knew she probably would say no.
As he spoke, A small panic began to flutter within her chest. She didn't want him to go alone! not only would she be alone, but what if he got into danger? Her ears rose high, and her brows knit, but then, he made it seem as if he was inviting her..? She thought about her mother for a moment, and the what he said. Only a day or so, huh?
"I'll go." She said simply, in a small, but gentle voice.

He turned to her and smirked. She was just trying to be nice to him, he could tell, but the fact that she had said yes made him happy, really. He turned and spoke to her, his tone more.. understanding than before. “I won’t make you or be mad if you say no, you do know that, right? I understand, really.” He had to make sure, he knew she must have felt torn at both ends with this. “But if you really want to, I want to leave soon.” He nodded. “I saw it in a vision once, what the sunset looked like outside of the place… in the open lands against the golden grass.” He was such a dreamer sometimes…
"I know,..I also know that inside here it is safe,..Mama will be safe,." She seemed to be trying to convince herself of that, " but outside, there is danger....and,." her small voice rose, "And I don't want you getting hurt!" There seemed to be somewhat of a pout on her face after that statement. Her eyes also seemed to send a burning /dare/ for him to so much as /try/ to convince her that there was no way he would ever get hurt.
But what could she do to help him really? wouldn't she just put him in more danger.
Ky would see that she was really torn up about this, he could see it on her face. His eyes moved to narrow again as he moved a bit closer to her, standing in front of her. He did what he could to give her a true smile before speaking. “You really don’t need to worry or over think this. It will take the fun out of adventuring. Trust me when I say this, I will not let anything bad happen to you or myself, and we will only be gone one day. Swear it.” He didn’t know how else to show her me really meant what he was saying.

It was only a day,...how much trouble could they find in just a day? "okay." She seemed calm now, and even tried a smile. "I believe you."
it was only a day. She repeated to herself. No need to worry about them, or mother. Everything would be alright. The more she thought that very thought, the more confident that she felt in it, and her smile turned genuine.
"I'm so glad..glad that you would consider letting me go with you,.."
Sometimes Marina felt as if she was just an /annoyance/ to Ky.
“No need to thank me, Marina.” He chuckled and smirked again, his tail batting from side to side. “I’d want no one else.” He was getting better at being open with her, and this could be seen by his actions and words. He really was trying. “So, we leave tomorrow at dawn, alright?"

Marina nodded. "M'kay!"
Marina was not blind to /this/ change in Ky. Sure, he had changed in appearance quite a bit since they had met, but she also saw a difference in his personality - at least to her. It made her happy, and gave her a since of achievement. She took pride in that.
“Alright then. I will meet you here tomorrow.” He spoke and nodded his head as he turned from and started off in the other direction. “Don’t be late.”
