Welcome to the 1st Bible Study. This bible study is focus is "I am a Christian". Please feel free to ask any questions that you might have!
When I Say "I Am A Christian" by Carol Wimmer
When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not shouting "I am saved" I'm whispering "I get lost!" "That is why I chose this way."
When I say..."I am a Christian" don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need someone to be my guide.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and pray for strength to carry on.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and cannot ever pay the debt.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not claiming to be perfect, my flaws are too visible but God believes I'm worth it.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I still feel the sting of pain I have my share of heartaches which is why I seek His name.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I do not wish to judge. I have no authority. I only know I'm loved
I found this poem a long time ago and i thought it was really powerful.
Being a Christian doesn't mean you're perfect, strong, or anything else, however, it does mean that you look to God for strength in everything you do. God doesn't care if you're caucasian, african american, asian, chinese, or anything thing else! God loves you for who you are! He made you, and loves you unconditonally. God will ALWAYS be there. There will NEVER come a day when God isn't there! He hears your every prayer and request. Please don't be afraid to stand up and say "I AM A CHRISTAIN!". God wants to be your guiding light, but it's up to you to let him.
"For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed." Isaiah 50:7
As Christians, we make firm decisions regarding our commitment to God, such as: I love and obey God. • I put God first in everything. • I'll do my best to serve God.
We also make firm decisions regarding our growth and progress as a Christian, such as: • I'm going to read the Bible this year. • I'm going to teach a class this year. • I'm going to invite my neighbors to church this year. • I'm going to prepare more for Bible class this year.
"But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works. Psalms 73:28
Don't let your friends tell you that going to church isn't cool or that there is no such person as God!!! Going to church to worship and praise God is one of the coolest things you can do!!!! Be proud to go to church!!! Be proud that you're a Christian!!! There's absolutely nothing to be ashamed of!!!! Don't be afraid or embarassed to just stand up and shout "I AM A CHRISTIAN!" God WILL hear you!
"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name." Psalms 100:1,2,4
If there ever comes a time when you're loney, lost, or just need a friend, look to the Lord. He will help you through whatever situation you may be facing. The Lord wants to help EVERYONE!!!!
Always remember that the Lord is always there for you and he love you!!
Closing Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for coming into our lives and helping us overcome even the biggest of obsticles. Thank you for having everlasting love for us and thank you for teaching us not to be afraid to stand up say loudly proclaim "I am a Christian!" Amen
