I think that adoption is a very good thing. If someone isn't ready for their child, then they can give the child to someone that will love and care for the child.

i think that it is something that should be considered, but isn't. i once said that i'd put a baby up for adoption if i felt unfit to be a parent, and I was called a dog. maybe that's why it doesn't happen: backlash from other family members who feel they have the choice to do so, when they'll only see the baby once in a while as opposed to every day good or bad

You should always adopt a baby or toddler, because after that the child doesn't get emotionally attatched to the "parents." But yes, adoption is a very wonderful thing. =)

Adoption is all very well, but I hear it's very expensive. >.<
Raising a kid is expensive enough as it is, so I don't think the actual adoption process should cost as much as it does. Especially if you're adopting within your own country.

Adoption is a good thing but can be really tough and stressful.
I dont totally agree with Havatara. Yes, adopting a baby or toddler might be easier because the attachment to the "parents" isnt there but what about all the older kids who get moved from foster homes to foster homes just because people would rather adopt a baby instead. I know adopting an older child and caring for them might be difficult but what else can you do?If I were to adopt, I would really consider adopting an older child, they deserve all the love and affection a baby does, right? of course they do.
