It was the afternoon. Sauda could feel the sun slowly moving down. She hadn't seen much of anyone in so long. Letladika had his own things to do, as well as her daugther was almost an adult. It made her sad when things didn't quite work how she wanted. She figured her and Letladika would be happy forever, but he seemed distant and quiet lately. She had left the den to get out on her own for a while. She needed to be around more happy things for now.
She had a smile on her face today, though at first it was face. But now, enjoying the lovely heat, and the pretty area had cheered her up a bit. Even if it wasn't the best sight to see. There were hardly any trees, and mostly tall grass. And for that moment, everything just disappeared. All worry, and despair vanished. It was a great feeling, even if it wouldn't last long.

Ylva moved in a slow bear like pace she usually strolled in. No since in tiring your self out while you were enjoying the scenery, that wasn't this hyna's stlye. Specially since she wanted to have as long away from her den today as possible. There was now some one taking up residence along side her in her den, and she just couldn't take being around him for so long. He was pitiful. Broken in spirit and in body but she'd fix him up as fast as she could so she could have her crystal den back. It was her treasure and she didn't care much for sharing.
Grass, grass and more grass as far as the eye could see and a lazy sun hainging over head about to start on its way to retire for the day. Seemed like a nice enough day so far. Her and the old and tired sun and the plains, ahhh, nice and quiet and another Hyena?
Another female, dark in color, seemed to have had a similar idea as her. Either that or she was scavenging or hunting. The ladder seemed unlikely since there wasn't anything worth while in these vast plains today to hunt. Unless, this female knew something Ylva didn't. The hyena took a few steps closer, curiosity for once had won the battle.

There wasn't much to hunt around here except for mice, though Sauda was a total scavenger like most Hyena's. She found her meals by the local of leopards that where around this area. As well as some lions maybe cheetahs. She wasn't sure. She only went around them when she wanted a bite to eat. Most were rather nice and shared with her, though it helped that Sauda was as sweet as it could get.
Sauda hadn't noticed the other hyena yet. Her mind was still upon the land in which she was watching. She was now sitting, how that happened, she couldn't remember. She truly had been distracted today. It was nice to forget though.

The other female hyena seemed unaware of Ylva who was in plain sight. So her deduction was correct, this female was not hunting. That wasn't so strange though, Ylva wasn't out hunting or scavenging either. Just out for a fresh breath of air.
"Nice weather," Ylva called over to the other dryly. She wasn't sure why she even bothered talking to this other female, perhaps her soft spot was showing today. Gag. But it was a nice enough day and Ylva was in a nice enough mood. Something about the other didn't seem threatening or sinister or hidden. Ylva didn't feel her usual untrusting nature give off any warning, so she relaxed and even gave an awkward smile.

Something snapped Sauda back to reality. She didn't realize at first, but someone was talking to her. "What? Oh.... Indeed it's great" She said with a smile turning her head towards where the female's voice had came. She was bright, as if she might glow in the moonlight. "Wow! Do you glow at night?" She asked. She never really thought about some of the things she said might upset another. they just slip out before she could stop herself.
And it wasn't after until she seemed to realize that could have been a bad thing to say. "I'm sorry, I think it's really cool though" She added to make sure the female knew that she wasn't trying to make her mad.

Before Ylva had time to think of something witty to come back with, the other female was saying her apologies for the comment. Not that Ylva had been offended or hurt by it, just was a bit of a silly comment. Her awkward smile had vanished though and was replaced with her unreadable expression.
"Don't worry about it, " Ylva waved her paw at the other like she was waving the comment away, "Don't be sorry, I'm aware that my markings stand out." Her bangs fell over her eyes and she had to blow them up to see the other. Her head swung to the side to get the unwanted hair out of her face. Honestly, her hair was more on her nerves right now then anything.
"You seem like you've got your mind on other things more so then whether I glow in the moon light, which to answer your question, I do." Her tone was matter of fact and bland. "So, and I'm not even sure why I care, why are you so out of it." A brow lifted as she asked. Now she was being rude sticking her nose in the others business. The sad thing was she didn't even realize.

She giggled "Oh, I just get lost in the beauty of the world. It's so peaceful" She said. She was glad the female wasn't upset with her awing at her pelt color. It'd be something else to have a glowing body. She thought glow worms at night right after it'd rain. So pretty. They were like natural tortures. She wondered if humans would want to use them instead of the fire that caused so much damage. If only they'd knew that it was bad and glow worms were better.
"It's easy for me to get lost in my own thoughts of nothing." She added to make sure that the female knew it wasn't something to worry about. Not that she could really worry, they had only met. Though Perhaps the other was like her and cared more then she should?

Ylva tried to hide her amusement, but it showed pretty blatantly on her face. So this hyena was naive, no wonder Ylva hadn't felt her as a threat and even approached her. Naivety was a weakness in its own since but Ylva never minded those that were. She wished she was at times.
"Lost in your thoughts eh?" Ylva mumbled, "You picked a good day but the wrong place." The hyena looked around. Yes it was pretty but nothing magnificent, not like her cave or a field of flowers or even a waterfall. It was just grass and more grass. "Come on, if your gonna get lost in the world, at least it should be in a place worth the time," She laughed some, "I mean, damn, this place is like all the rest of our great home Africa." The laughter drained but the humor remained on her face.

"It's beautiful, even if another place is similar, there's still something about each and every place that makes them unique." She found the beauty in anything, even if it was some ugly mass of nothing. She thought every place was worth the same time as anywhere. "Plus, I can't wonder too far from my home, I wouldn't want them to worry." She spoke about her family, even though she didn't know how worried they'd get, but she knew they would get worried at least. Hopefully.

Ylva understood that, she her self couldn't really leave to far with her new visitor she was taking care of. Though, even if the visitor want burdening her right at this moment, she wouldn't leave unless she really had to.
The female shook her head sympathetically with what the other was saying. "You are a rare hyena....." Her thoughts trailed slightly. Not many , even feline or any other type of creature, were so peaceful. Ylva hated to admit it, but she was refreshed just standing by the other. That and she wasn't a hyper active little twit that was jumping around rubbing it in your face sort either. She just was.
"Mmmm..... You sure do have a naive state of mind , but its your own treasure..." Ylva tilted her head to the side to better see the other through her hair and gave her a smile. Yup, this was Ylva on a rare day.

Sauda had always been happy. Or at least from what she could remember. Her past had been erased from something that might have been tragic, she wasn't sure. Though, she was happy she found her father, and found out she had sisters, and a half brother. It was good to know that she had family. She was surprised she even ran into them, but would thank the gods every day because of it.
Sauda smiled at the female, She seemed to look as if she came from a god herself, Though, Sauda was told once that gods were only lions. She'd never believe that. She wasn't quite sure what naive meant, but she figured it was a good thing. "Thank you?" She wasn't sure what to really say to that at all.
"Life itself is just beautiful, and if one can't not cherish even the things that might appear ugly, then they are just taking it for granite. "

The other hyena laughed, "Even a warthog has hidden beauty, " She cackled again at the thought of a decked out gorgeous warthog. The hyena hadn't laughed so hard in a good long while, it was , as was this girl, refreshing.
"Names Ylva by the way... " She tilted her head again to get a better look at the other, " I don't really remember names well but I'll remember your face. Your a good egg, kid. A pearl in the center of the vast ocean, rare. " She smiled at her, which looked almost sadistic on Ylva's maw. "And don't you ever let anyone tell you different." Why she was being so open with a stranger, Ylva didn't know. She felt calm though and none threatened.
Even though Ylva had laughed, alot, at the thought of a warthog being beautiful, she knew the other was right. Everything did have beauty, but everything also had a twisted shadow.

Sauda couldn't help but feel a bit taken back with what she said. But she smiled. Not showing that perhaps the female might have hurt her feelings alittle. She probably didn't know, and actually was nice to talk to. She smiled as she said her name. "I'm Sauda" She said. The only thing she had remembered when she had lost everything in her mind.
Kid? Sauda hadn't been called that before. She wasn't young, but wasn't old either. "Can't say Kid is the right nickname for me." She giggled. She did after all, have a daughter. "Pearl?" She asked. She'd never been by anything called ocean either, though she was told it was a great vast of water... That you couldn't drink. Sauda didn't think she was anything different then from the female infront of her. Apart from her fur. Though even that wasn't too different from another hyena. Her father. "I don't see me as different from anyone."

Ylva hadn't meant to be rude, it almost seemed natural to reply in such a way. She nodded in approval as the other stated her name.
"Your not, in the way you exist, " Ylva shrugged, "But your mentality is a good one, a treasure." She didn't bother explaining the bit about the ocean and the pearl. Ylva knew what it was and had been a few times as a pup but she had never seen a pearl. Just knew they were supposed to be rare and round and white and beautiful. Almost like an eye, but with out the pupil. It was rare.
"Your not a kid," Ylva's maw twisted into a smile, "I didn't mean to offend."

"No offense taken, it's just weird being called a kid, when I have a daughter who's almost grown" She said with another giggle. She couldn't help but find it funny anyways. She wasn't sure what to say about the other part, since it seemed odd to her. Though, the other seemed to know what she was talking about. So she was different, but in a good way? She supposed it didn't matter at all on it. Unless it was a bad way. Then it might matter.
Sauda had no ounce of bad in her. She felt bad for killing and eating creatures, but she also had the will to live. So, it was perfectly fine. She normally let Letladika do the hunting, at least then she wouldn't feel as bad as if she did it herself. "Do you have any kids?"
