 Today was a normal day for the Omega male. He had woken up found himself the leftovers of some other predators meal and now was relaxing under a large tree that provided the perfect shade. Having no master or mistress to serve made the male very skittish seeing as he had no one to protect him, and so he was constantly aware of every little sound. Lifting his head every few minutes to scan the area with a shaky look he sighted nothing dangerous and tried to relax, something that was foreign to him even now in his later years. The day was glorious, wonderfully sunny with a slight breeze to keep any creatures from over heating. Wiski would have enjoyed it, except for the annoying rustling cause by one of the woodland creatures in the area. If only his mistress had lived. She would have taken care of the problem.

 Alya sat quietly, listening to the sounds of the forest around her. It was quiet on this day, though not unnaturally so. Sounds of small creatures still came from the underbrush, and songs from jittery birds still came from overhead. But something seemed off, or at least felt off. She could sense it in the feel of the air around her--something was simply wrong about the territory that she had recently claimed as her own.
She stood and lifted her nose to the wind, sniffing gingerly. Ah! There it is! she thought, snapping her head to the west. The smell of another Helix wafted back towards her, and a sudden anger engulfed her. How dare they trespass on her territory!
So she set off at a run, determined to show this Helix who was boss.

As Wiski's head snapped up for the hundredth time since he had chosen this spot for his desired resting place, he realized that the small pest wasn't the cause for his unrest this time. Getting up he strained his ears to try to catch what exactly it was that had caused his latest jump. Finally catching the noise it took him a couple moments to realize what it was. The sound of fast approaching paws! Though it didn't sound like the strongest of creatures, still Wiski trembled at the prospect of another helix. Backing up farther from the way the noise was coming from he ran into a tree. Yelping at the impact Wiski dashed forward to avoid the 'helix' he had run into, successfully ending up closer to the impending helix then he had been previously.

A feral grin formed on Alya's face as she smelled the fear that came from the other Helix. She hadn't even come into sight yet, and she was already frightening the foolish thing! Perhaps she was better at this than she thought.
When she finally caught sight of the Helix, who was bumbling around like a lost pup, she bunched her hind muscles and sprung from the ground, flying through the air. Just as she had calculated, she landed right on top of the other Helix, and bore him to the ground with her weight. She pinned him to the ground with her sharp-clawed paws and snarled in his face, relishing the scent of fear that wafted from him like perfume from a flower.
"You! How dare you intrude here! I have chosen this land as my own, and I will keep it as my own! You are not welcomed here!" she growled, her fangs bared. Her snout was only an inch from his neck, and she could almost smell the blood pulsing there.

All Wiski saw was a blur before he was pounced upon and tackled to the ground. Feeling the claws dig into his side and sharp teeth snarl in his face he knew he was in for it.
Paying close attention to what she was saying he trembled in fear. Whimpering he lowered his head in a submissive way and bore his stomach as much as the position she had him pinned in would allow. "I apologize ma'am. Had I known this land was yours I would not have dared lay a paw on it let alone thought of doing such a thing." Trembling Wiski only hoped she would allow him to live after offending her so. Oh if only his mistress were alive this atrocity would never have accured. She would have been aware of the helixes claim of this land and they would have stayed clear.
