The spring day was dark and gloomy. Looked as if it wanted to storm, but wasn't sure. The stallion, Oathkeeper, was making one of his usual rounds to keep from staying in one place for too long. Staying in one place made him feel useless. He loved meeting, greeting and helping Soquili he came across. Lately though, his travels were becoming less wide spread. In his bones he could feel age setting in. Oathkeeper didn't mind feeling older, but some of the physical tolls were...annoying to say the least. With age came wisdom, but also lack of energy and physical ability. He was quite sure that if he ever did find another life mate at this point, she'd might have to be happy without having kids. He wasn't sure at this age he could live up to siring more children, as much as his heart desired it so.

But alas, he was very happy having seen his three wonderful children already grown and loving mates all their own. His son and daughter, Starseeker and Starwielder and their mates were even very interested in starting families all their own too. It brought a smile to his face. Being a grandpa would bring so much more fun a liveliness into his life. He eagerly awaited it in fact. Lost in his thoughts the rain started to trickle. The stallion barely noticed at 1st, but then it quickly became a downpour. Sniggering to himself for having not pair better attention to the foreboding skies above him, he dash for the nearest overhang of trees. Shaking off his mane, he made his way back to the well covered glen he and his herd called home.

Nokomei, the two-legger Kawani friend of his probably was kindering a fire and making dinner at this time. He figured returning home to enjoy some spring grass and warmth was a better idea than wandering aimlessly in a spring storm that evening. He was about 75 percent of the way to home when he smelt something---something that couldn't have smelt anymore wrong. It was like the scent of blood and evil mixed together. How 'evil' could be smelt, Oath didn't know. But he sure as hell smelt something that sent shivers up and down him. What he was about to see, however, was beyond what the stallion could currently comprehend.

There, in the distance, was someone that he recognized...barely. There was a white and pink mare, complete with familiar tribal golden swirls about her body...but it wasn't her body anymore. It was shared by what Oath could make out as a coat---no, a 'skin' of sorts, followed by a long catlike tail swishing slightly. The look was unmistakable, but Oathkeeper couldn't believe his eyes. It was Paris. The mare he had once befriended; only to have had her ditch the Teepee and glen irratably, leaving her poor daughter Maui in Oath's care. But something now was more 'off' about her than ever before. She was stalking towards the campsite, complete with bloodthirsty golden eyes. Wait---Oath had heard something about cursings and once sane Soquilis becoming bloodthirsty monsters... Oathkeeper's heart hit lightspeed and his blood boiled. Paris was turned Skinwalker?!

He didn't dare think on the subject further, as the now monsterous mare was closing in on the glen. She's after the herd!!! Oathkeeper paniced. He burst into full gallop, cutting her off at the clearing to the campsite. He and the mare were barely visible to the herd in the glen, but they attracted enough attention. Sure enough her two left behind children, Maui and Parixaeus gathered round to take a closer look. Oathkeeper had to do something, he startled them by practically screaming at the two to back away. His attention then turned to the creature before him...as it actually spoke to him...
