I got at least three recommendations for you.
Love is War, which is originally 'sung' by Miku Hatsune. Her voice is all wrong for it mind, but the music itself is pretty good.
Also check out MELT by the same Vocaloid. If you can find the english translation, the lyrics are very very sweet. It's also a great song.
Even better, check out Double Lariat by Luka Megurine. There's a really great handdrawn animation of it on youtube too.

Boss Veggie "Double Lariat"? As in, that move that Zangief from Street Fighter uses?
Apparently so. But really it has nothing to do with that particular move, or zangief, apparently. :3
From looking at the translation, and then interpreting the metaphors of the english, it's about a girl (presumably the singer) doing something she likes, mostly aimlessly, just doing it because it's fun... But upon seeing her friends, who are better at it than her, she pretends to give up, saying that 'oh I'm not very good at it', but she feels jealousy and wants to be better. In doing so she starts to practice in secret, pushing away her friends so they don't notice. This continues until she gets so much better at it than everyone, but at that point, she starts to wonder really if how she went about things was the best idea, and tries to reconcile with her friends once again, perhaps remembering that she was originally doing it just for fun.

I Love Lemons!! That sounds along the lines I was thinking, but maybe a little different.
I thought she was talking about love and how she went from guy to guy trying to find love. When she saw others who were in better relationships, she pretended to give up but was still looking in secret. Then it get's a little lost in my mind and goes along the lines of she found someone but she wasn't ready to give up dating just yet so she told this guy to come back when she's grown up a bit.
And then I thought that it might be something else. "I can spin [#] degrees" sorta like she can reach out to the world, like she gives her love to the world but when it comes to personal love, she can't seem to find it and all her friends have it. Then it goes more along the lines of the paragraph before except she's telling this guy that she needs to love the world and then he needs to come back when the world is all better or something.
I dunno, my mind runs on tangents.

I'm pretty much the same way, actually. Except I have something of a love for Johnny Cash, and James Taylor as well. As for Screamo, well I used to listen to Thursday a long time ago, even bought a CD, buuut I think I sorta grew out of them after I left my very short lived angsty teen years. and I do mean very short lived.
