Psyche was waiting for something. What it was, she didn't exactly know and she never really had, but she was waiting for "the one". Even in the stink of bodies around her, she waited for him to come and set her free. She supposed, in the long run, it could just as easily be a 'she' who was strong enough to finally beat her, but that didn't really concern her. Who didn't matter. It had been far too long since she had actually felt much of anything for the "who" to mean much of anything at all. Her life right then was simply bitterness.

She tugged on her latest catch, a small gazelle, and dragged it back towards her home. She didn't think there would be anything waiting for her... but it was hard to expect much under the stink of death. She was used to it though. She was used to so much now that she had never thought she would be...

"I'm home." Psyche told herself, forcing a smile that never really lasted long. What could she do, really? She was all she had now. There was no one else... and very few creatures would come to the area now, since it smelled so terrible... only those who knew of her legend dared enter the area.

Normally, Pilate wouldn't wander into such a tainted area. In fact, she didn't wander in on purpose. She literally fell in.

The cheetah cub had spent most of her day exploring the jungle when she happened upon a rocky ledge. From so high up she couldn't have smelt the decay as well as you would have been able to if you were approaching from the ground, so Pilate didn't hesitate to climb. When she reached the top, her footing slipped causing her to fall and tumble down wards.

Lucky for her something soft broke her fall. Opening her eyes, however, she found that the soft thing was a pile of dead males, and shrieked tumbling down a massive pile of dead bodies landing ungracefully on her front, spread eagle.

"Where... " She opened her eyes staring at a creature that looked alot like her. What was this?

Psyche looked up when she heard something falling. And she heard the yelling as someone toppled down the cliff and landed on the heap of dead bodies. Well, that was a little unfortunate. Because now, whoever it was, would smell terrible. If they had survived the fall she supposed...

She walked up to the pile and sniffed around, "Someone in there?" She asked, tilting her head a little. It could be an enemy she supposed. A very stupid enemy who had thought attacking from above would be the best course of action... she couldn't really imagine why anyone would do that though.

It was a long drop.

"Hello?" She asked, double-checking to make sure whoever it was, was still alive or not. And she didn't really sound sinister enough to be an enemy, when you got down to it. At least, not until she wanted to be frightening anyway.

Pilate slowly got to her feet, very slowly. She wasn't in a lot of pain now, but later her belly and side would hurt from the bruising. Right now it was alright though.

This was the first full grown cheetah she had ever seen. It was hard to tell, but from the way she looked there was no comparing her to a lion or a leopard. The build was to lean. Even so this other cheetah seemed different in some way.

"Your a cheetah," Fell out of the small cheetahs half open mouth. She was still dazed from the fall she had taken and shocked from seeing the piles of dead bodies. Now she was face to face with a cheetah. Whether there was a group lurking in the background along with her or not had crossed her mind. This cheetah smelt like death but did not frighten Pilate. It almost seemed impossible for one creature to kill so many.

Psyche watched the young girl and tilted her head. She hadn't seen one so young since she was a child. Back when her brothers and sisters had been alive. But obviously the girl was no threat. Probably just a little orphan thing left by her parents. She didn't seem to have seen an adult before either. That was something.

"Yes, I am. So are you." She pointed out, now feeling indifferent. No one she could fight. No one who could break her curse. No one she could ever feel anything for but a passing interest. "You should probably go. There are plenty of dangerous creatures around here."

Her, being the most dangerous thing in the area all things considered. But there were plenty of males wandering around looking for some way to attack and defeat the cheetah who had killed so many that had tried to make her their own.

Psyche merely shrugged, going and fetching her meal, dragging it back towards the cave she lived in. Oh well, the child was no real concern of hers.

Pilate stayed put, her eyes wandering around the inside of the cave. It was so dead , this place was teaming with death. The cub her self was a killer, but not of her own kind. The bodies seemed like they were killed, almost, with out reason.

"You live here?" Was all the cub could cough up after a long while. She couldn't believe that all these bodies had been slain by one. There had to be a team of cheetah inside that cave or out in the jungle, laying in wait.

Or maybe something bad happened. Judging from the stack of bodies, though, it seemed they were killed. Some of the bodies were fresh, while alot further down the base were mostly bone or rotting in horrific ways.

You'd think this would scare the cub pretty bad, but being a killer her self, it didnt. Specially since Pilate was optimistic. There had to be a reason for all this death, just had to be.

Psyche glanced up. She wasn't gone yet? Seriously? Usually the stack of bodies scared off just about everyone who came close to the area, unless they were specifically looking for her to try and win her heart. Literally.

"Yeah, I live here." She replied, looking over her meal, trying to decide where she should begin eating it. The neck seemed like a pretty good place to get around to it. But she didn't really want to eat with the cub there. For some reason that just seemed... kind of weird.

Well, frankly, that there was a cub there at all was kind of weird. How the hell had she fallen so far and lived? Maybe the pile of bodies made a useful trampoline, but Psyche had never really thought about it that way.

Actually, she usually didn't think about it. That was why it was still there. That, and it scared away some of the stupider competators for her paw as a mate.

Pilate looked up with her bright pink eyes, "You live here a lone?" With that she tilted her head, this didn't seem right. The place wasn't a dump, but the stench and the death surrounding it seemed to make this place a harder place to live in.

"Maybe I can help you clean up a bit," Pilate bounced onto her feet and grabbed a boney leg dragging a bony carcass from its resting place. It looked odd for a small cheetah cub to be dragging such a big carcass, but it was mostly bone with a little meat hanging on the bone and a tattered fur coat. It wasn't heavy.

Maybe she was that leopards parents. After all she had heard about his parents, maybe this was where they lived. After all, leopards and cheetahs were the same.

"Yes, I live here on my own." Psyche told her, giving up and taking a bite out of her dinner. If the little cheetah was hanging around, then whatever. She could do as she pleased, and the rest didn't really matter to her. It wasn't like the little cheetah would ever mean anything to her, unless she buffed up quite a bit in the next few years.

"It doesn't need cleaning. I like it this way." Psyche told her, watching as she dragged around the body, which was far too big for her to possibly be holding onto. "You should just leave it. It keeps everyone else away." She told her bluntly.

She wished the little cheetah would leave her alone... she liked the way things were.

Pilate smiled and dropped the remains of a once proud male. Maybe this was her prides grave yard and she was its guardian. The cub was so optimistic, to a fault in her thinking ways.

"You could rearrange it and make it look more..... " what was the word she was looking for, "Homey?" Pilate, home design one on one. Yeah, no, the cub had no clue when it came to designing. She wasn't an expert.

Her pink eyes watched as Psyche ripped into the dead carcasses thread. Envy would have turned her green, not for the food, but for the powerful jaws and hunting skills. She had taken down a zebra before with the help of her sister lion but never had she killed anything bigger then a rabbit on her own.

Hunting was her passion.

Psyche looked at the girl curiously, "You're... very odd." She informed her. "You do know that I killed all these cheetahs, don't you? I could have killed you, when you got here." She said, very blunt and to the point. But Psyche had never really been very good at dealing with... well, people. Or anyone really. And the last thing she wanted to do was rearrnage her dead bodies to make them look prettoer.

But she sighed, because she still really didn't think that the girl was going to leave. "Do you want some of this or what? I can't stand you pacing around like that." She told her bluntly, telling the truth. She had no idea how to deal with kids as it was... and this girl was just so... weirdly friendly.

Couldn't help to just feed her and get rid of her. Maybe ask her to avoid telling anyone else about the place. The last thing she needed was some jerk to sneak up behind her and attack her.

Pilate was starting to get the feeling she wasn't wanted around. But the offer of food was too good. With a nod she took a good big bite of the former alive creatures leg. She tared the flesh off in big bites, alittle to big for her size.

This was a rare meal for the cheetah. A fresh, hooved creature. The meats juices streamed down her maw as she ate pigishly. Oh happy days, Pilate was in heaven and had no idea she was being a little rude not thanking the stranger. It wasn't til most of the skin had been peeled off the leg that she thought to say thank you.

"Im.. " She burped and blushed looking down, "s-sorry... I didn't mean to just jump in and start eating with out thanking you... " Her eyes were laid on the juicy leg despite the apology. And she burped again.

Psyche sighed, assuming the other girl missed the part where she had killed every other member of the cheetahs who had been killed there. Oh well... some cheetahs were just weird she supposed.

"Don't worry about it." She shrugged, "Too much for me to eat anyway."
PostPosted: Mon May 25, 2009 6:52 pm

Pilate didn't worry about it and dived right back into the leg happily. She made wet, crunching noises as she chomped and pulled and tared at the flesh. This leg didn't know what it had coming to it with Pilate at the end of those teeth.

She slurped a long piece of meat. So tender and juicy and flavorful, this girl loved food.

"This is really good!" She announced with a piece of meat hanging from her jaws. Clean eating was a concept that never dawned on her.

Psyche just watched her, tilting her head. Had the girl never learned to eat properly? Well, it didn't matter much. The sooner she could get the kid out of there the better as far as she was concerned. It had been so long since she had seen a child... or anyone who didn't want her dead. How very strange to have someone so small around her... yes, very strange.

"You should enjoy it. It doesn't seem like you eat very much." She mentioned, very nonchallant about it. Really, she could care less one way or the other. Because either this girl loved food, or she was starving to death.

She shrugged, eating away at her food.
