So this is the official pokemon thread for the sniper guild, since you guys seem just nuts for it! Talk about any games you want and anything about the games. ASk people for help if you want, or just any old random things. yayayaya
anyway, I wanted to reply to Zepia (Zeptia? Can't remember and too lazy to check) with her pokemon blue team.
Really? How come Dugtrio? I'd always get a Diglett but I usually only for a quick dig and then keep on my sandslash myself. I'd use just about the same attacsk as your diglut too, which surprises me. Idk, Sandslash is just my favie.
My team in blue was always Blastoise, Sandslash, Butterfree (how do you spell that? o.o?) and I can't even remember the rest. Shiiit. idk, it's been forever. All I actually remember from when I previously played it about a year ago when I wasn't just a kid and started realizing not all non-legendary pokemon were not equal that Sandslash was daaamn awesome.

I generally found Dugtrio to be useful because he's pretty useless until the third gym (Serge, with his Electric Pokemon) and there's no way I'm lugging around a useless Sandshrew for now reason.
Dig is pretty much the first Ground move you get, and since Diglet learns it naturally, I keep it. Dugtrio has INSANE speed, though crappy defenses. Then again, I only use it for fighting Electric Pokemon, so defenses are a moot point. What at they gonna do, use a 20 damage Sonic Boom on me?
Plus, Dugtrio was a mystery. A ******** Pokemon with three heads. WHAT THE ******** IS UNDER THAT GODDAMN HEAD? HOW DOES IT ******** SLASH STUFF?
Butterfree... I'd always get a Butterfree in the beginning as well. Especially since Caterpie are more common in Blue (Red had a common Weedle) and because the Bug Forest was GREAT for training. I mean, Metapods and Kakunas that don't do anything but Harden? SCORE.
I figure Butterfree is pretty much a must if you go with the Charmander, since Brock's Rock Pokemon have low Special. Plus, it learns Confusion at 10 (12 in Yellow, I think?) and a variety of status effects after. It becomes obsolete when you get your Abra / Ghastly with Psychic, though.
Plus, I loved the Butterfree card in the original Pokemon Trading Game. Giga Drain for 40 damage and 20 damage heal? Sweeeeeet.
I always favored my Blastoise, though. Which isn't that big a surprise, since Blastoise is why I started playing Pokemon to begin with. It's a tortoise. With cannons. On its shell. The only thing more hardcore is a metal penguin, and we got that in Diamond.
End game? I'd have a 99 Blastoise, 70 Mewtwo and some other Pokemon around 50 to 60, with a 30 Areodactyl to top it off.
Then I learned about the Missingno glitch and training Pokemon just got a hell lot easier. 8D

Lawls @ Missingno.
UNLIMITED RARE CANDIES AND MASTER BALLS.
It was so cheating. ;P
I always stayed in Viridian Forest until I got a Pikachu. Then I kept him with me until I could evovle him into Raichu. <3Raichu<3

I spammed the hell out of missingno. And when I was starting, I'd always get a weedle and name it bugger. Uh... go look up the definition on that word. It's no wonder my grade 3 teacher didn't let me use that name in my free writing stories. I REALLY had no idea. o.O
I always really liked Kabuto and Muk for some reason too. idk, it was kinda weird.

I know. I might get it... if it lets you play the Rival.
But fat chance, eh?
Speaking of which, Diamond's rival pisses me off. So in my second playthrough, I named him b***h.
I loved watching b***h's Mom go "Where's my b***h?" and all.
Made the whole ******** game worth it. I ******** LOVE BEATING MY b***h UP.
Yeah, Kabutops. XD
Much cooler than Omastar. So glad I got Blue.
... Original DRATINI?
That thing that does only 10 damage? With like, 40 (or 60) HP? In return for a goddamn MACHAMP?
@ Cherry I KNOW RIGHT?
Catching Legendary Pokemon just go so much easier. No more saving a Masterball for Mewtwo, when you can USE IT ON EVERYTHING, EVEN THE SAFARI POKEMON.
Too bad Scyther was Red only, though.

Again, I'll ask. Anyone interested in have a Pokemon tourney? (D/P/Pt) I'd be willing to host it.
There's even a YVD type of thing for Pokemon cards if we wanted to have a card tourney.

I'm trying to think of a typing that would be able to have no weaknesses.
So far, only two Pokemon have no weaknesses - and their typing is Ghost / Dark.
The only other typing I can think of is an Electric Pokemon with the Ability Levitate... blegh.
For reference, the three abilities that would help are...
Levitate: Immunity to Ground attacks. Thick Fat: Half damage from Fire and Ice attacks. Heatproof: Half damage from Fire attacks.
I thought Steel / Dragon with Levitate might do it, but Dragons don't have resistances to Fighting, meaning that's out of the topic.
Or course, we could try adding Moves to the mix.
Magnet Rise: Pretty much like Levitate. Roost: Removes Flying typing to heal, meaning no more super effective from Electric, Rock and Ice, but no more resistance to Fighting, Grass and Bug. (Meaning, it doesn't help at all).
Any ideas?

I honestly wouldn't know.
I'm thinking of making a team of pokemon, but I don't know what I should go for. I want a team taht can cover all weaknesses that is so far:
Special wall blissey, a physical wall Skarmory, a physical (maybe mixed, idk) sweeper Infernape, a physical sweeper Weavile, and I'm planning on a special sweeper zapdos and I'm not sure on a 4th, hopefully a mixed/special sweeper (to balance out when I decide on infernape).
Thoughts? How does it look Zepia? I might need to balance out attributes too. Maybe I'll post movesets in a bit too.

Most Pokemon can be covered with a moveset that covers all the type weaknesses.
Much like Porygon-Z can cover everything with Dark Pulse, Tri Attack, HP Fighting and Ice Beam.
But the only complete type coverage Pokemon naturally are Spiritomb and Sableye. Perhaps if you used Roost on a pure flying type. But the only one of those is Arceus with a Sky Plate.
You can't eliminate weaknesses completely from your team, but you can minimize the damage given to the team by predicting the move and switching out on it. Like a Jolteon with Rain Dance in effect will generally use Thunder, so switch to a Ground type.

You know what's fun? Clefable is fun. 8D
I once sweeped a team of Legendaries (and most of them Uber) with nary but 6 Clefables of varying movesets on Shoddy.
Though then again, my opponent was incompetent, so I guess it's nothing to brag about. XD
But seriously, Clefable has a giant movepool and a nifty ability. Adds up to complete sweetness. 8D

^___^ Opining on the new games...
Gold and Silver was my favorite generation, aside from the original. I just remember being so excited! I can't wait for Soul Silver and Heart Gold to come out.
