Rachel sighed lightly as he sat upon one of the mats set up in his classroom. He refused to give into that ridiculous yoga stuff - it had been proven not to do a damn thing that stretching didn't already do, and he completely disbelieved the spiritual angle of it (which is funny coming from a guy who works at a facility that keeps angels and demons). Still, teaching a student stretching exercises had seemed a good plan, particularly as the information on what else he could teach his prospective student was limited.
Sighing he glanced at the girl's file again. Hopefully she didn't get ticked at him for seemingly discounting her skills or whatever, but he was strapped for ideas. Well, never know till you meet her, which is what the man had to wait for.

The girl slid into the class, eyes peering out from behind her hood. "Mr. Pateko's class, right?" she asked softly, making sure she the right room. She was pretty sure she had the right room, but then again, she could always be wrong. She stayed near the door, shifting uneasily. She was a bit more worried about this class than she had been about her last; it was a skills class over all. She was so sure that she was going to mess up royally; she just knew she would. Hopefully, she wouldn't annoy the teacher too much; she'd do her best not to do too badly.

The brunette looked up, nodding at her. "Yes, you have the right room. Would you be Azubahiel?" he asked, saying the name carefully so as not to screw it up or upset the girl. She was half humility so might have a problem with someone mispronouncing her name, and that was a rather bad way to start off a class.
"Come on in, and relax. Today's going to be a slightly easy class for you, for which I apologize."

'Zuba nodded, indicating that yes, that was her. 'S nice to meet, Mr. Pateko." she said, greeting the teacher. "'Zuba." she then offered, knowing how much of mouthful her full name was. She didn't expect anyone else to actually call her by it, so why would she expect it from him? She stepped further into the class, looking a bit relieved. If it was going to be easy, that meant less of a chance of her making a mess of things. "'S okay. Sure it will be fine." she said, offering a small smile. She followed Rachel's example and took a seat on one of the mats.

"Rachel." he returned with a small smile, "It's nice to meet you too."
"Today we're mostly going to work on stretching exercises to improve your flexibility. Nothing too complicated so don't worry about messing up or any of that." He assured the preteen calmly. The girl seemed a tad nervous and he wanted to put her mind at rest. This really wasn't going to be that bad for her.

It was as if he'd been reading her mind or something. She smiled, glad that this was a low-risk kind of lesson. "Sounds fun. What kind?" she asked, her tone light. Today's lesson was much easier than what she'd been expecting. She seemed to calm down a bit, though the girl still fidgeted every few moments or so. Worries and doubt still nagged at the back of her mind, though she tried to ignore them.

Rachel smiled a bit more, noticing her relax. The girl was nice enough and he was glad to see she wasn't as agitated, that wouldn't have done either of them any good. "Mostly basic ones, like stretching your legs, bending to touch your toes in different positions, moving your arms, stuff like that." he explained.

'Zuba nodded, taking note. "Like do in gym class?" she asked, wondering if it was the same thing. She glanced at her toes, giving an experimental reach towards them. Seemed easy enough. A smile spread across her face; if this was what they were going to do, there was a good chance she'd do a decent job at it.

Rachel nodded. "Sort of. We might do a few more than they do in a gym class but that's about the size of it. Doing stretches is good for you and can make you more flexible." he explained, moving to show her a particular stretch that involved bending one leg to touch the opposite thigh, stretching the other leg out, and bending to touch the toes on that foot.

'Zuba observed for a moment, before mimicking the stretch. Hey, this wasn't as hard as she thought it would be. She stretched forward, wrapping her hands over the tops of her shoes, her arms almost parallel with her legs. Hey, this was kinda fun...

"Why?" the split spawn asked, blinking. In her logic, holding it longer should help more. Shouldn't it? She attempted to to the same stretch as he was doing, but ended up losing her balance and toppling over. She sighed, color tinting her cheeks as she attempted the stretch again.

Rachel sat up and waited for her. "It's okay if you don't get it at first. Just keep trying. Some of these take a bit of practice and getting used to." he assured the girl.
"And that's like the maximum time that it really does anything. I believe it has to do with just how stretches work in comparison to other exercises but I'm not sure. I just saw a poster on the board at my old job that talked about it."
