Something inside Uzuri felt strange; like the winds of change were headed her way. She loved her life, but felt as though......something big was happening. She wanted to run from it as fast as she could, but she didn't want to leave her new family. Not again.
Sitting on the top of a mound, Uzuri watched the sun set. The surrounding clouds were dark with rain, but they cast a beautiful burgundy shade over the savannah. This was not the first time Uzuri had sat upon the mound all alone. Many evenings now she would go out there, to look out at the world and think. Think of a past that she felt she could have changed, of a future that was so uncertain. So many things circled around in her head, it made her want to dissolve into nothing.
She flexed her paws and stared down at them for a long while. She wished she could see her siblings--her old siblings, just once more. She would have given anything to change what had happened, but what could she have done as a small pup? Would she have even come across her wonderful new mother if she had changed things? Uzuri flicked her eyes behind her for a moment, thinking of all of the amazing times she had spent here.
She shook her head, trying to rid herself of her deep thought.

Janja sat a small distance away, looking directly up to the sky. The sky was dark, indeed, and smells of high moisture, signifying the coming rain. With a sigh, Janja's gaze traveled over to her daughter. A small sad smile came over her face. So independent at a young age, that one was.
Hesitant to aproach, Janja took only one step towards the blue female before sitting again.

Uzuri's ears flicked back as she heard the soft footsteps of Janja. They were the only things out on the savannah right now, as well as most of the time. Uzuri liked the solitude, and the small family that she had.
"Hey." she smiled softly and turned back towards Janja. It felt like ages since they had spoken.

Relief tingled through Janja's body and she gave a smile back. She stepped a bit closer to her daughter and sat down near her. "Hey," she answered back, though softly. "How're you, today, Uzuri?" She questioned, looking at the dark clouds in the distance.

Leaning her head lightly on Janja's shoulder, Uzuri's eyes grew cold. "I just don't know anymore." she felt her heart ache every moment she was happy, though she didn't quite know why. She feared that this emotion would pull her away from her whole world, and shove her back out alone, wandering aimlessly. "I suppose I'm having a sort of mid-life crisis." she laughed a bit, trying to brush it off. She simply hoped it would pass soon, before she did something she would regret.

Janja nuzzled her daughter lightly, slightly worried about the young dog's response. "You're too young for a mid-life crisis, young pup," Janja teased a bit with a small grin. That grin, however, quickly changed into a small frown. "It'll get better... Life will. I don't know what's bothering you, pup..." Janja was speaking more to herself, thinking outloud. "It'll get better..." She mumbled.

Uzuri smiled. "Pup?" she looked down at her paws. "I don't believe I was ever a pup." her eyes seemed glossed over. It was true, Uzuri was never able to experience a puphood, being on her own from such a young age. It had hardened her, and she found it hard to smile from day to day.
She tried her hardest to change the way she had become, but her old habits and memories were a hard thing to rid herself of.

The older dog shook her head sadly, giving her pup a small smile - sad, though, it was. A deep sorrow filled her chest, along with the intese feeling of failure. However, she kept a strong face. However, that was a struggle, so she opted to look at the sky where the rain would surely come. She didn't speak yet, there was a risk of her voice cracking from the buring feeling of self-loathing.
She could have done so much better!
But she failed, and now it was too late to change a thing.
Suddenly, she gave a sigh and looked back towards her pup, though words wouldn't come to her. What to say? What to say?!

The small flicker of hope that Janja managed to light from Uzuri's words was still outshined by the failure. She gave her... daughter? a brighter smile and settled back to look at the sky. Raising Uzuri as best she could was all she ever worried about. It made her tired and weak, but she liked the idea of raising a family. She just didn't know anymore...
She didn't want to be a bad mother... And she wanted to be there for her pups, like she couldn't be for Uzuri.
"I'm sure someone else would have helped you, if not me," Janja told the younger female.

"I doubt it." Uzuri found herself genuinely laughing at the thought. "I wasn't the 'family' type when you found me." a smile still held itself on her delicate features. "Luckily, I turned into one." her thoughts drifted back to the boy she loved-- the one she wanted to try and have a family with. It was for him, and her mother, that she was trying.
"Besides, you're the best mother on the savannah." she leaned over, a comical look upon her face as she gazed up at Janja. "That 'thing' that gave birth to me-- there's no shred of mother in it." Uzuri dearly hoped that she hadn't inherited anything from that past, for the sake of her new relationship.

((The rest of this RP took place over AIM, and Seaki will log any further posts here.))
Seaki Janja gave a small smile - she was feeling a bit better. Uzuri's words boosted her spirits a bit. She was happier at the words, but still a little sad - that feeling would probably never fade.
"How've your travels been?" She question, deliberately leaving off the 'Pup' title. Uzuri had grown - she saw that. The younger dog's spirit aged harshlyas a young pup and her body was catching up to her spiritual age. The pup had been through too much.
Polette "Well, after I left here, I met some wonderful pups." she drew in a breath, thinking back to the shy pup she had met not far from here. "After every meeting and new friend, I always wished that I had an impact on their lives, in some way." she remembered how she tried to make this pup brave, that pup kinder. There were too many to list, and though every experience wasn't a success, she just knew that most of them were.
"Then...." a smile lit up across her maw as she finally reached her personal favorite. "I met a pair of twins."

Seaki Janja listened to her daughters tale with a smile. Her pup would make a great leader or teacher. Gods knew she would make an excellent mother. Janja knew this, she could feel it deep within her chest.
Janja was curious with the younger's change in attitude. She seemed to glow. With a tilt of her head, she continued to listen, head cocked in an undivided attention.
Polette It seemed like her life was just a strange blur before she met them. The two of them, opposites, had opened up her mind to new things, and opened her heart.
"The one, Jua, was a lazy thing." she giggled to herself. "He was sweet, though." her gaze shifted, and she moved on to the other. "Ade...." she inhaled deeply, her chest filled with knots just thinking of him. "He's....special." she lingered on his confession to her, holding it close until they saw each other again.

Seaki She listened to Uzuri's words with interest, processing them quickly. She tilted her head at story she told of the twins. The words confused her slightly, especially the comment of the dog, Ade's, specialness.
"How special?" She felt she knew the answer, and her voice had the faintest hint of teasing. She knew how Uzu felt, in a way. It's how she felt with Adeto.
Polette "Well..." Uzuri gulped, trying not to stumble on her words. "He makes me feel like I'm worth something." her mind flicked back to the day he nuzzled her so sweetly, putting everything aside for just her.
"He said..." she swallowed, not able to force the words out. "He said...."

Seaki Janja gave a small chuckle. "You don't have to say," she told the pup, amused. Janja shook her head gave the younger dog a nuzzle. "Well, I think we should sleep, what do you think?" She gave a faint smile to the blue dog. She had hope for the younger dog's future, and it made her heart sore in a most unbelievable manner.
Janja gave a stretch and a yawn proving her earlier statement, and gave a faint chuckle, amused with herself. She stood. "Coming?"
Polette Uzuri stayed a bit, lingering in her seated position. She tried to think, to garner courage. "Alright." she lifted herself, butterflies consuming her stomach. Trotting past her mother rather quickly, she moved her head up, so her mouth was right next to her ear.
"He said he loved me." she whispered, then trotted off into the safety of the den, to hide her burning face and embarassment.
