well, my week has been pretty hectic, I had state testing this week, but it wasn't that bad, I think I did pretty good. But all in all my week has been great.

Today we will learn of the importance of being the best we can, in order to recieve blessings.
How bout we start with Why is it so important to be the best we possibly can be?

Well, if we're not our very best, we can miss out on choice blessings and opportunities that most of us could never experience on our own while living on earth.

Because we are gods in training, and since gods are perfect, we had better try our hardest to be as perfect as this imperfect mortal existence will allow.

so what are some of the ways in which you can show that you are trying to be the best that you can be?

Well, just the act of trying your hardest to do your absolute best. It's not like you have to answer to anyone but the Lord, and He is already aware of everything you do anyway.

Primary/seminary answers. Read your scriptures, go to church, follow the commandments we've been given, say your prayers, set an example to all those you come into contact with, and do as your Heavenly Father would have you do.

yes, that is a way. There is also service to those around you. We learned that one today at church. There is enduring to the end, it shows that you aren't giving up and that you will keep trying.
Now what do you think that you can change in your life to help you prepare to live with our Father in Heaven?

I'd say I should try harder in the things I've been asked to do. I do as I've been asked, but I know I can put a little more effort into everything.

It differs for everyone--we're all at different levels of learning and all have our unique challenges.
But we could all use more charity. You can never have enough charity.

Those are both great ways. I'm going to try to be more receptive of the Holy Spirit and the promptings there-in (a lot with missionary work among friends).
We should be examples to our friends and family around us, and we should look to our most perfect example, Jesus Christ, to more exemplify ourselves as examples. (does that make sense?)
Why is it important to be an example (preferably a positive example) to others?

Some people learn by example. So, by living what you teach, some people will learn by what you do more than when you sit down and just talk about it with them. Also, for us in school, interacting with people almost every day, they watch us carefully. Even if we don't make progress with them in the here and now, we may make a lasting impression on them that will help them later on in life (like if a missionary found this person and started teaching them, the person would remember you and may be more willing to listen to the teachings).
