It was a particularly humid morning that Muhali chose to set out for a stroll. There was really nothing like the scents and sounds of the swamp in the morning. The scent of home. The bog, the marsh. He let the cool water slide up to his shoulders as he waded through the dark pool. The water just below his whiskers. The insects floating around his ears.
He loved it.
Not far from where he stood, a small boar was nosing around the waterlogged roots. A nice breakfast, he mused. Thrumming low in his throat, the lion slowly slid forward- careful to watch the ripples in the water as he approached.
And then he fell into the hole.
Distracted by the hunt, Muhali had stepped into a muddy pit, and vanished beneath the black water. Luckily, it wasn't a sink hole or any such sort. But it was rather embarrassing. Hali returned above the surface, snorting and sputtering, his mane suddenly black with mud and weeds. "...ughf." He muttered, and suspiciously darted his blue eyes about.
The swine was standing on the shoreline, his eyes wide. For a brief moment Muhali wondered if he could still grab it- but then, the little thing began to shriek, and vanished into the underbrush.
Hopefully it had been the only witness to his folly.
With a snort, he squared his jaw and gently pushed back his dripping mane. A lizard crawled from one of the tangles; and he flung it back into the water.

Semira was uncomfortable in the humid temperatures today, at least it was mostly cloudy so she didn't have the extra heat of the sun beating down on her black pelt. She had been up early that morning because of the temperatures and had enjoyed the chance to look through to pride lands without many others around.
After thoroughly exploring the areas around the pride that were often crowded by other members of the pride Semira moved on towards an area in which she knew was quite wet. She hoped that she would be able to find some reasonably clean water to have a bath and cool down in.
As she made her way through the trees to the water she spotted the other lion standing in the very lake she had been hoping to swim in, she hoped that perhaps he wouldn't mind her using the lake also. It was as she approached the lake that the other lion fell into what must have been a sink hole in the lake.
She let out a chuckle when the lion fell and then flung the lizard into water. The whole scenario seemed rather comical to her.
