Ellandra was nervous. She'd taken a seat on one of the chairs resting in the hallways - thankful to be off of her feet for the moment, those shoes were still distressingly uncomfortable - and was currently twisting her necklace around in her fingers, trying not to look directly at anyone. After all, the only person that had been taken back here that she actually knew was Verdant, and while the elegant musician was good company, she was still anxious regardless.

She'd made a point of avoiding the coffee and tea that had been laid out - she didn't dare risk drinking anything caffeinated. She would have been more comfortable with Faolan or Ziazan there, but she didn't want him to give up having a good time with his friend just because she'd been called off for something or other. This couldn't take too long, after all. . . right?

"I... I wonder why we're here," she said quietly, more to herself than to any of her temporary companions. Privately, she had her suspicions - after all, this was an "off-limits" area, Miss Eversong had been whipped off into a completely private room within it. . . oh, she suspected that it had something to do with Banning's offer, but she didn't know and that frightened her.

"I do think you're right, sir. I'm sure there's nothing we need to fret about." After having been led away from his compatriots, Verdant found himself inside a cozy room with equally comfortable furniture. He immediately made his way to the tea and poured himself a cup. He was frightfully thirsty, he realized, though it was not from dancing or singing. No, he was nervous, quite anxious actually, to find out why they'd all been called over to this small room. He smiled at the only person he recognized and sat in the seat next to her.

"Hello, Ellandra! How have you been? Has life been treating you better?" He had noticed the way she had spoken- there wasn't any nervous stuttering at all. Kharma was being kind to her; he was very glad about that.

Verdant's jaw dropped and some of the tea in his cup spilled onto the carpet, narrowly missing his boots. "M-married?! That's great, Ellandra! Oh my god, I'm so happy for you!" He placed the teacup on the floor and gave her a quick hug. Married! Goodness, this Faolan fellow must be quite the catch for Ellandra to have married him! Verdant did feel a bit bummed for not getting an invitation to the wedding, but knowing her, the wedding must've been very hush-hush. She didn't seem like the kind of girl to make a huge deal out of it. "So, what's this Faolan like? I'm sure he's a good man if you love him."

Verdant waved to the man with the dog. He wasn't a fan of animals 'cos they didn't tend to liek him, but birds and reptiles seemed to like him. Not dogs and cats though. Maybe it was a nymph thing?

Eli watched the talking pair with some amusement after waving back at the other male. He knew Faolan a little and was interested in seeing the man's wife, she was a writer if he remembered correctly. Verdant was a total stranger to him though as was everyone else around, he supposed it was what he got for picking a less than social occupation.

Ellandra nodded after the woman, her eyes on the spark in her hands. So this was what they were here for. Smiling at Verdant, she rose to her feet, careful to leave her shoes out of sight under the chair. She was not putting those things back on! Not for anything. "I suppose we'll talk again in a few minutes, Verdant. . . Depending on when you're called in, I can wait here with you before going back out."

Yes, it was because she wanted to keep her frind company. Not because of - gulp - having to find her way back out through all the people to Faolan would be terrifying, not at all . . . Smiling softly, she walked down the lounge-hall stepped through the door to where Banning waited.

" Kell, " Eli replied watching as the other man interacted with the dog. Kell seemed to enjoy soaking up all the attention he could get. Eli on the other hand needed to figure out where to get more of these oatmeal cookies, they were disturbingly even better than his mother's.

Kell wagged his tail furiously and there was pleased gleam in the canines brown eyes as attention was lavished upon him. This was maybe, maybe worth the bath earlier today.

Ellandra came out of Banning's office less than ten minuts after being called in, and, still somewhat dazed by the precious acquistion she held inside its little gold box, took her seat next to Verdant again. "M-Mr. Galvao, Banning said you're to go in next," she said, stuttering jsut a bit and fighting the urge to pull her hair down over her ears. She lookd over at Verdant, blushing to the tips of her ears and not sure how to broach the subject that had been brought up before she'd left.
