This is the PRP Contracting/ Essence Spark Pickup RP for x__Doctor Ruri
Location: DeLonghy Manor - Off Limits Area - Banning's Office
Timing: Not long after first introductions and a minor wait

The ball was starting up cosily by now, things were going quite alright...
And then, the duke made a short announcement, calling four, five people out of the versatile group and requesting them to come out into the entrance hall and go into the (off limits!) left wing.
The staff and guards would let them pass, lead them to a cosy small assembly of couches and chairs out in the hallway, where they would wait.

Mister Cromwell and his charge were called in next, after Eli and his dog were released from the Duke's business room. Please enter, close the door and have a seat in front of the desk.

Dorian sauntered into the office, sitting down gracefully and crossing one leg over the other so he could lean casually in the chair, his arm hanging over the armrest as if he was totally calm. Which he was, because that was just Dorian. Strange man in the most stressful of situations. He smiled at Banning, cocking his head. What was he here for NOW? He'd already given that poor woman with the green hair hell to get his spark in the first place. Claudia sat happily on the ground near his leg, leaning her head on it and humming. She'd just been reset, so she was a bit clingy, since she'd seen other children be very clingy to their parents at her age as well. Dori pet her hair and sighed, hoping she didn't cause any more ruckus tonight.
"So. I assume this has something to do with my little rock? Claudia dear, daddy needs that now." he said, for once crisp and buisness like instead of taunting or crazy happy. Claudia nodded and took the spark from her lap, giving it up to Dorian obediently with a smile before returning to her previous position. Dorian put it on his lap and looked at the rock, wondering what it would be. He'd seen some pretty amazing things tonight, and the Essentics were highly varied. Interesting. Looking to Banning, he smiled softly, putting a hand on the back of Claudia's head in case it was about her little tussle. He wouldn't let anyone harm her or take her away. Not now. Not ever.

It hadn't emerged yet, hmm... well, if Timka did her job right it should have bonded already.
"Yes, this is indeed about the Spark. For reasons that are too darn boring to mention, we decided to stray from our usual protocol when giving it to you." Banning eyed him, his keen gaze hidden beneath a layer of rather deep, dull boredom. If anything, he was more interested in Claudia, judging from the occasional lazy glances he cast her.
"So far it has all been in good faith, and it pleases us you came here tonight. If you wouldn't mind working along a little, we could complete the procedure and get the paperwork done right now, right here."
... please work along?
"It's nothing complicated, I just happen to have a nitpicky streak when it comes to proper business."

Dorian nodded. Ah. Paperwork. His old friend and enemy. Claudia hopped up and climbed onto his lap, picking up the spark and sitting it in her own lap, trying to take Dorian's attention away from everyone else. Yes, this was part of her usual reboot routine. She wouldn't want to be away from him the rest of the night. Straightening out some of the white lace of her dress and patting the spark like it was a puppy, he nodded and pushed some stray hair behind his ear.
"I suppose with all good buisness there comes piles of paperwork. I don't really mind if it was unusual or not, but please tell Miss Timka that I hope she's doing well. Now, where's this paperwork that needs to be signed and stored away?" he smiled politely, while Claudia looked at Banning and wondered why he looked familiar. Claudia gently pulled on some of Dorian's hair and became the shy little girl her personality was programmed to be again.
"Daddy? Do we know him? You said not to talk to strangers.....is he a stranger?" she asked urgently, not wanting her papa to be carted away by a man offering candy of some sort. Dorian laughed softly and pet her hair as an answer.
"No stranger than us, my dear. Now, let Daddy fill out his paperwork, hm? We'll be getting a new housemate soon, I think," he reassured her. Looking to Banning expectantly, he raised an eyebrow as if to say 'Well? Are we doing this or not?'

"Piles? Who is talking about piles... Notwithstanding my status, miss Longway would murder me if I saddled her up with any more. She is doing fine, I assure you." Chitchat, chitchat... now we can at least get this over with.
Listening to the diminutive android with half an ear, he retrieved a rather large slip of parchment from his desk, turned it the right way around and slid it over to Dorian.
"That is all we ask, one signature, a token of mutual trust. We offer the Spark, and any followup assistance you may need, and all we ask in return is for you to not get in trouble, exercise a base level of discretion." Not so hard, is it?
"Take all the time you wish to read it, it's rather self-explanatory." No fine print, no legal fuss, and technically of no more value in a lawsuit than a handwritten note on a scrap of paper. Let's keep said law out of it, for both our sakes.

Dorian glanced over the paper and laughed softly, looking up at Banning with a glint in his eye. Sly dog. A vauge paper trail, but no real evidence in case something went horribly wrong and the Essentic was discovered. No paper trail whatsoever really, as the legal document was very vauge as to what the customer was signing for. Nodding, he grabbed the paper and a nearby pen and signed his name with a flourish.
He turned it around again and pushed it back to Banning, copying the man's former movement, and smiled, crossing his hands in his lap while looping his arms around Claudia and leaning his head on top of hers with a cheshire cat grin. "Ah, what tangled webs we weave, eh? Ah well, as useless to me as that document is, I'm more than happy to keep the little spark off your hands. He's just a rock, but I've grown rather attached to him, haven't I poppet?" he smiled, looking down at Claudia, who only giggled and held 'papa's rock' tighter. With a stifled yawn, Dorian sat up and streched while Claudia looked between the two men and the rock of mysterious things.
"I'm sure you're just as glad to be done with this frivilous buisness as I am, Master Banning, so let's go back to the party, shall we?" he chirpped.

Good, there we go. Banning hadn't missed the man's look, and he couldn't help but let a small smirk flicker through. I might not be the sanest around, but I think I know very well what I'm doing.
Another signature, without a hitch. It did pay to have a high level of brainless honesty and a rock-bottom level of legal strings. Na, this contract is mine now, thank you very much.
Rolling it up and sealing it with a neat flick, he gave the doctor a casual nod. "Indeed, you are free to rejoin the other guests now. One more to go for me, though. I'f you'd be so kind to request mister Lindstrom in..." Can't miss him, really. Only one left.
"I wish you a pleasant night here on the domain. Feel free to address the staff with any requests or complains you may have, hmm. We are all at your service." Oh yes, today could become even more interesting than it already was.

Dorian presently got up as their buisness was finished, letting Claudia slide off his lap safely with the Spark in tow. Nodding to Banning, he waved him off with an exaggerated sigh. Shaking his head and running his hands through his pale hair, he turned to the door and gave a soft 'hmph' at having to be a callboy.
"Yes, yes. I'll send Ver darling in to see the big bad Banning. See you later, then. I think all my questions and concerns with it will be answered by itself in time. Claudia dear, come on now, no dilly dallying." he nodded, ushering Claudia out and back to the festivities. Ah well, he figured. Another chance to talk to Verdant. He just knew he was going to be close friends with the young man.
