We all know them, love them, hate them, but how do you play them?
I'm pretty new to TF2, and I'd love to use the spy, but I'm such a noob I really need some tips... How do you use the spy?
Any tips or whatever is appreciated 3nodding

Well, I have one tip, when you are posing as another member of the team, act like that class does, and when they shoot you, don't respond unless you need too. Also don't run directly at people unless they're facing away from you.

You are asking an expert Spy right here. >3 I am ze Spy!
Listen to what Bacon said. He's right. But when you're walking toward enemy teammates, try to run backwards if you're coming from where they are supposed to be attacking. Call for a Medic if needed. Add some voice commands to make it realistic. If you're planning on backstabbing, always disguise then cloak. OR just cloak. You need a quick get away unless you plan on backstabbing a few people in a row. Disguise as people who you think would be the best to disguise as. If there's a few scouts, disguise as a Scout. Heavies are the weakest to disguise as...They're slow, and they're really only best for sapping. Because of the new update, you can disguise as an enemy Spy that looks like he has a mask on to fool the enemy. Try doing that.
It's a complicated class...Trust me.

i agree with what everyone said
another tip is a stab'n'sap
what you do is wait for it to turn to the 180 degree angle, right when its there you stab the engie, quick switch to the sapper, and spam that mouse!!!
also, on a round of anything with a gate where they can see you through, disguise as a friendly, then they dont expect that ur a spy, someone was disguised as there pyro before the round started, thought he was a pyro, turns out he was a spy

Sapping is attaching little electro-magnetic sappers to an enemy sentry. Over time (a short time) it damages, and eventually destroys the sentry. While the sapper's attached, the sentry is disabled, but an engineer can knock off the sapper with his wrench, so some spies just run around the sentry and spam sappers faster than the engie can repair it. While this usually kills the sentry, the engie usually kills the spy as well.

While this usually kills the sentry, the engie usually kills the spy as well. you made a mistake, you said sentry, its on any building and quick engie tip, if you see a spamming spie, aim forkilling the spy first, cus iff you just focus on the building, its dead (aimple:kill spamming spy not sapper)
