My friend bought me Gone With the Wind (book) for my birthday. I don't know why she did that, but she did. I looked at the first page, and there is no chance of me getting past it. Not a single spaceship in sight. Stuff that.

Talk about wtf presents you've been given yourself, or you can talk about what you had for dinner today. Whatever.

Also, hello again if you have a clue who I am. =D

Hi Morgey. XD It's great having you in the guild again. I didn't even know you had quit. o.o
Wow, Gone with the Wind? XD;;
Hmm... I remember once someone got me a bunch of cookies for my birthday... and not like homemade, but just a pack of store-bought cookies... I don't even like store-bought cookies that much... I think I gave them to my dad.
Then I had a birthday one year in elementary school where it was a time that all the girls suddenly wanted to be mature and cool, so all they would buy people is body sprays and strong-smelling soaps. I'm allergic to all that stuff, and besides a giant stuffed tiger, that was all I got for that birthday...

I didn't want to make it look like I wanted people to beg me to stay because that would be bratty, so I just skulked off.

If I belong to a guild, it's the law that I have to quit and come back at least five times. So this one is doing quite well.

Thank you. ^^ This time, maybe I can get involved with the show-relevant threads rather than hiding over here.

I know, wat.

Though thinking more on it, she knows I like reading and that I like old films, so it probably made sense to her. Only, the genres I like watching and reading are wildly different. D:

She probably just got it for herself and didn't want it, lolz.

Was it a big awesome packet, or not very many? A lot would be good, not many is definitely weird.

Oh dear, that reminds me. I once bought a friend some muffins. While she was observing Ramadan. >_<

Elementary school? They grow up so fast.

That must have been rubbish. =[ *Hug*

Understandable. XD Kind of strange that you quit and rejoin guilds all the time, but to each their own.
Hmm, guess that does make sense to get you Gone with the Wind then. Can't get gifts 100% perfect all the time after all.
It was just like... a normal packet... like what you would buy at the grocery store, except it was a brand I had never heard of, so I guess that made it a little more interesting.
Yes, sixth grade I believe. XD;; That seemed to be the year that everyone thought they were suddenly mature, but really weren't. The year that the sluts, preps, perverts, and jocks emerged.

Yeah, I'd feel bad only I did a good enough acting job at the time so meh.

I never noticed a specific year where that happened. I just changed schools, and noticed that everyone else seemed to think make up was the best thing ever all of a sudden. Which was odd, as this school also had the boy/girl divide firmly in place.

That works. XD
Hmmm, maybe your old school hadn't made that jump yet, but your new school had, so that's when you noticed the difference?

Deffo. It was weird. One minute everyone plays IT together, and the next, there's rampant mistrust and you totally suck if you don't love make up.

I still played with dolls until I went to secondary school.

And now I'm going to start posting crap. biggrin

I think I'm going stupid. I got a job in Henley, but my brain was telling me it was in Exeter, and I've been panicking about how to get there. D:

What's IT? o.o
I played with dolls past elementary school. XD;; I don't think I ever really grew up.
Oh well... you can't check online where the job is located or anything?

Where you run around and poke someone, and then they have to run around and poke someone else.

Dolls are win. =D

I did, but I'm not going there anymore. The fares to get there are beyond what I can afford. Also, when I went yesterday, it turned out it was voluntary work, even though the agency had discussed wages with me. The work experience would've been handy, but I'm not paying loads to clean a toff hotel for free when there are good causes I could volunteer for much nearer and I'm angry at being lied to as well.

Pain in the backside, but on Monday I get to ruin their s**t by reporting them.

Oh, okay, I know what you're talking about. XD We call IT Tag in the US.
Dang, that does suck. You should report them then. XP It doesn't even really sound like a good cause to volunteer for.

Inorite. That's happened to me twice now. "Come and work, we don't feel like paying you though, haha =D"

Eh, there probably isn't much point in getting employed in Reading anymore. I'm moving back to Brum as soon as my landlord sends me a contract. Dx

I can do that because I hoarded my student loan rather than having a life.

Anyway, I talk too much about myself. How is your life going?
PostPosted: Mon Jun 01, 2009 9:29 pm

Dang, that's so obnoxious.
Um... my life is going pretty good. On summer vacation right now, trying to find a job, but not having much luck. That's about it. *uninteresting life*

The job market is just ridiculous at the moment. Dx

Still, enjoy your vacation. ^^

And your life isn't uninteresting. Or I would not have asked.

I get to vote for the first time tomorrow. =0 All of the parties are utter crap though, so I'm going to vote based on which colour I like best. Purple, blue, yellow, red or green, whee.

I'm really a Monster Raving Loony Party girl, but they're not actually votable. Dx
PostPosted: Wed Jun 03, 2009 9:08 am

It is. D: But I'll enjoy my vacation anyway. XD Thanks.
Ooh, nice. :3 Kind of sucks when you don't like any of the parties, but it's still good to vote. I got to vote for the first time last year. It kind of sucks though, because it didn't really feel like I contributed at all; Obama had already won before my state's votes were counted. I voted for Obama, but still...

I find it useful to act in the covering letter as though they're breaking down the door to get you. It makes you seem more confident. As in "This concerns the vacancy for blahblahblah. Contact me at xxxxxx. I will start whenever. Bye.". It seems that if you behave like you actually want the job, you've no chance of a reply.

I can tell you this because you're in a different country, and therefore not a rival. =P

Enjoy your time off though. ^_^

Ouch. D: Though, you participated, and that's something to be proud of. x]

And don't you get a nifty "I voted" badge?

I've become really interested in politics lately. However, the more you know about it, the more depressing everything is. I spend more time talking people out of supporting parties than coming up with anyone who would be good.

Not that it matters. There's still a year until the General Election, and I'm already 99% certain that David Cameron will become the Prime Minister. Then I will an hero.
