Got a question about breeding, either in general or about a pairing you want to try? Post it here!

I'm curious how the rolling works...like what numbers equal identical twins...and how does the mortality roll work.

Here's my super-long how to roll explanation from the staff thread: How to Roll for Breedings
mxf NON-RP'd couples: potential of 2-4 children, 25% mortality rate How to roll: Random number from 2-4 = # of children. Roll a four-sided dice; if it lands on FOUR, there is a death UNLESS the # of children is two and there are two owners participating.
mxf RP'd couples not in a group: Potential of 2-4 children, 15% mortality rate How to roll: Random number from 2-4 = # of children Roll a 100-sided dice; if it lands on 86-100, there is a death UNLESS the # of children is two and there are two owners participating
mxf RP'd couples in a group: Potential of 2-6 children, 5% mortality rate. How to roll: Random number from 2-6 = # of children Roll a 100-sided dice; if it lands on 96-100, there is a death UNLESS the # of children is two and there are two owners participating
mxm/fxf RP'd couples not in a group: two children produced, 15% mortality rate Mortality rate only applies if there's only one owners: roll a d100 and mark off between 86-100
mxm/fxf RP'd couples in a group: potential of up to 2-4 chidlren, 5% mortality rate How to roll: random number from 2-4 = # of children Roll a 100-sided dice; 96-100 = death UNLESS the # of children is two and there are two owners participating
Asexual breedings can only occur when the parent is in a group and result in 1-2 children, 15% mortality rate. How to roll: Random number from 1-2 = # of children Roll a 100-sided dice; 86-100 = death
Genders!
For MxF breedings: Roll the same number of four-sided dice as there are children. Evens are girls, odds are boys.
For same-sex breedings: Roll the same number of four-sided dice as there are children. 1-3 are the same gender as the parents; 4 is the opposite
Asexual breedings: gender is always the same as the parent
Twins?!? Identical twins occur in 15/1000 births, 4x that in same-sex pairings, and 50% of the time in asexual breedings. For every hetero breeding: random number from 1-1000. If it's 1, 10, 100, 123, 200, 300, 400, 500, 555, 600, 700, 800, 900, 999, or 1000, there are identical twins. The colorist should make two births from that litter have nearly-identical markings; they may be differentiated by being mirror-images of each other, having slightly variations in color (lighter/darker), having slight variations in patterns, etc. Up to the colorist.
For same-sex pairings: random number from 1-250. If it's 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 111, 125, 150, 200, 222, 225, 275, or 250, there are identical twins. Follow above directions.
For an asexual breeding: Roll a four-sided dice. If the number is even, identical twins. (This only applies if there are two offspring.)
