On her way back to the cave Lin was carrying a large kill in her mouth, she'd hunter for her new family and the reminiscence of her sticky web was still smeared around it's lifeless body.
Glancing up at the moon lit sky Lyssa smiled at the glowing spider on her shoulder. "Let's get going Zhi" she said to the spectre "Maybe we'll find something more interesting this time." the white cub picked up her wand and set off in the dark wandering aimlessly.
With a sudden stop Lin's head spun in the silence of the night. Something was making her spider sense tingle (LOL!) but she couldn't pin point what exactly, she could of sworn she heard a voice.
Lyssa glanced nervously at the black webbed Lioness who was dragging a web covered kill. Maybe she shouldn't have gone out that night even if she had been bored. Lyssa glanced at the small spectre spider Zhi for any hint of an idea that could possibly help the situation. Zhi didn't give anything away... damn. The white cub continued to gather her courage and wait for the lioness to move off... Hopefully she wouldn't be noticed
It hadn't taken much to set Lin's senses into turmoil, she was instantly alerted by the sounds around her that defiantly did not belong to her or the corpse webbed behind her, and feeling her paw around she narrowed her head. She was ever alert even in the night, it was after all her best time when she hunted for her family and visited friends whilst Arei watched over the cubs. "Come out, Come out where ever you are." She smiled, she sounded welcoming yet still managing to hint at a slightly threatening tone had whoever or whatever it was had wished her harm, and either way it would move, and the vibrations on the ground would give her a clear indication as to where it or they where located.
Lyssa twitched the voice at first sounded kind but there was something else underneath that made the cub even more wary... some how the lioness knew exactly where Lyssa was hiding. Suppose hiding wouldn't do any good anymore. Lyssa wished she where bigger so she would have been able to hide in a tree. Lyssa glanced at Zhi again and the sider seemed to move forward as though telling her it was alright. The small white cub inched forward slowly coming into view of the spider lioness. When she stopped walking Zhi climbed up Lyssa's forepaw and onto her shoulder as though to get a better look. "Here." she said quietly maybe this lioness was going to eat her? Lyssa watched th lioness and carefully tucked her fears into the back of her mind.
Lin peered around her until the first step was made towards her, she could feel it under her paws exactly what direction and how small the paws where. Instantly she turned to face, slower than before in the safe knowledge it was a cub if that. A peculiar smile coming to her face, she never looked the most friendly but her intentions where always good... unless you were male and Arei wasn't around. "Ah there you are" Her smile widened as she caught the shape, she'd been correct not that she had doubts, though their could be another keeping still in the background, she hadn't much thought of that, she'd keep her paws and ears alert.. Just in case. Right now however their appeared to be a young lion alone in one of the deeper parts of the forests and near her cave, "Very late for a little hatchling like you to be out, surely your not alone?" Lyssa frowned as she realized the lioness wasn't near as frightening as she had previously thought. "What of it I wanted to be out so I am? And I'm not alone I have Zhi." she said referring to her small spider companion on her shoulder. Lyssa still kept her distance from the larger lioness.
Lin made a slightly gasping face as if what the cub said had made something click and she now totally understood, an attitude like that at that age and being alone at this time only meant one thing, no parents. Her eyes then shifted to the spectral spider, she clicked her tongue with a smile "Quite the companion you have there indeed, nothing wrong with being alone at these times if you have the senses, tell me little hatchling, what plans have you for the night?" She quirked her eyebrow genuinely interested in knowing.
Lyssa nodded "Zhi has been with me since I was born as a sort of familiar." The little paused and thought "I was just exploring and I was goign to continue to explore." Lyssa could take care of herself well enough and since she had Zhi it was even easier since Zhi could help her find small animals to eat.
"A plan indeed, these parts are quiet mostly, quite safe would you consider joining my hatchlings and I for dinner, well breakfast for one or two of them I expect." Lin let herself chuckle, the small beam of moonlight that peaked into the tree's around them reflecting off her white web markings they stood out quite well against her black coat. "Plenty to go around, yes yes plenty." Bringing a paw to her mouth she licked a small spec of webbing where they had been left over from the hunt. "Zhi is welcome, more than welcome I expect it'll find it quite homely."
Lyssa eyed the deer hungrily realizing she hadn't eaten yet today she nodded involuntarily and there where other cubs? That would explain why she wasn't angry at Lyssa. Lyssa glanced toward Lin again the spider moved its two front legs telling her to go and it would be alright. Lyssa looked up at the other lioness "I'm Lyssa." she said.
"Prolinphiya." she stated with a nod of acknowledgment to the cub. "Though most call me Lin, easier on the tongue they say." smirking she bared her teeth playfully in amusement, brought up in a pride of mostly female spider orientated lions she'd been taught how to get her mouth around strange, long and unusual words and names, which is why when others couldn't it always amused her briefly. Flicking her head to her left she nodded and turned to start heading in that direction "So Zhi and Lyssa have you found anything of interest in your explorations tonight hmm? Other than me of course" she chuckled lightly.
Lyssa nodded in agreement as she tried to say Lin's full name a few times before giving up. It was a beautiful name...Lyssa just couldn't pronounce it maybe when she was older. Lyssa shook her head "We haven't." she with a frown, it was more fun to search during the night though than the day she had realized. "Everything seems to be sleeping..." Lyssa said following beside Lin.
"Yes that does seem to happen doesn't it, my hatchlings vary, we're not sure whether they'll take after my nocturnal habits yet, we'll see when we get back." She smiled, proud of her three hatchlings, only one male it could of only been better if they had all been girls. Arei was driving it into her to treat him just as well, she agree'd, he was theirs after all and even if he grew up like the males she knew he'd still prove useful for a litter and then a hearty meal for his partner afterward, the thought made her snicker quietly under her breath. Her ways where much like others in some respects but utterly and miles different in other ways. "Under the moonlight is my world, yes, the sun is a mere inconvenience." Lin was wide awake, she'd napped well during the day on and off as the cubs had. At the last attempt of her name lin smiled "Not yet, with some tongue training you'll get it, Pro-lin-fee-ya." then seeing the edge of her cave she gestured. "Plenty more time to discover yet."
Lyssa listened to Lin quietly as she spoke she seemed to favor females over males Lyssa couldn't quite understand since she was so young she just nodded. "It's nice here..." she said walking through a moonbeam it was much more mysterious and sometimes eerie but it made it exciting and beautiful. "The Sun is always so bright, do you know why?" she asked with curiosity only a young cub could have . Lyssa saw the cave up ahead maybe one of Lin's cubs would be up and want to play with her. Lyssa listened harder this time as Lin took apart her name into its syllables. Her tried again determined to get Lin's name right she closed her yes hoping not to see the lioness's face if she got it wrong again. "Pro..Lyn..fee.. ah.." her eyes opened suddenly that sounded kind of right didn't it?! She looked up at the lioness wondering if that was right.
"Lyssa has great potential!" She beamed happy to hear her name awkwardly come from the cubs mouth, it wasn't perfect but the rolling of the tongue required was hard to grasp straight away, and they had only just met after all. For a second attempt it sounded great and her tone reflected applause at getting it right, "The fiery ball in the sky? Because it's fiery silly!" She giggled in a playful tone as they reached the cave, not quite understanding Lyssa not actually knowing the answer to her own question.
Lyssa beamed she had done it or at least most of it. She was just happy to have gotten somewhat close. Lyssa looked at Zhi, Zhi clapped two of her 8 legs together making Lyssa smile. Lyssa ten followed behind lin toward the cave.

Upon entering the cave Lin let out a soft click off her tongue, peering around in the darkness to hear if anyone was awake. Then moving to the side she flung her kill gently at the wall, sending out a vibration across the floor long enough for her to peer and take note of where her family where. From that point she could see each of her three cubs and Arei's form in the cave. "Welcome home ." Lin expressed in a gentle and quieter voice than before. "Dinner."
Corin was quick to hear his mothers return, he was much like lin in his laziness during the day though he was worse, being so young he slept through almost all the day and winced at the son. Jumping up of his perch he'd been waiting he strung under her feet and swiveled around her paws several times before coming out and sniffing about, he could smell the food and something else. "Mummy Lin brought home fun!?"
Lyssa peaked out from behind Lin to see the other cub leap to the floor and walk around his mother's forepaws. Lyssa smiled "Hi!" she said to the boy cub "I'm Lyssa and that's Zhi." she said pointing to the spider.
Following the words of the new voice he was quick to jump over his mothers paws and over to the new person, smelling he could tell she was his age roughly. "Hey! I'm Cor..in..nid..ae" He had trouble saying his own name and he'd had it since the day of his birth, it felt like a pain right now and kinda embarrassing, little did he knew it was the highest honor his male disliking mother lin could of done. "Phft, Corin will do" He smiled in the darkness and padded closer to her, sniffing about he caught the scent of the spectral spider "Hey, he kinda smells like us!"
Lyssa giggled a bit even his name was long and hard to say she logged the syllables in her mind she'd have to practice latter. "It's nice to meet you Corin" she smiled and wondered what he was sniffing. It was Zhi "I can't smell her, she's like a ghost you know you hand would go right through her." Lyssa was the only one who could actually touch the spectre. "You want to play?"

Hel's ears twitched as she heard her mother's voice. She had been in a daze for a while, not really asleep but then again not really awake. She stood and stretched sniffing the air, she smelt not just the food, but someone new. She ran past Lin and pushed Corin out of the way.
"Hi. I'm Hel." she said, greeting the new cub.

At Lyssa's last sentence he's been lost going to reach his paw towards the small spider and drawing it back double checking in his mind to make sure she had said what he thought she had said. Corin was just going for his third almost touch of the spider when he was flung to the side by one of his sister, he couldn't tell which one it was till she spoke. Huffing briefly he shrugged and let his sister have some time with the new cub whilst he circled behind Lyssa and to the other side of her, giving the spider a second glance should he just try one more ti... no. His belly was grumbling as is and mother Lin had brought home a perfectly good meal that no-one had touched. Taking the opportunity he darted away from all the girls and at the kill, scratching at the webbing around the kill with a clawed paw.

Grumbling slightly at the noise, Aranei opened one of her two eyes before fully stretching out her body. Her eyes immediately readjusted to notice the apparition of her shadowed mother in the corner not moving. She nodded slightly in her direction before letting out a mouthful of a yawn, her feet padding off in the direction she smelled the food. "What's all the ruckus about?" She squinted one eye in the direction of her siblings. She had noticed the new female, but seemed less excited than her twin.

Still trying to cut and pick the webbing away from the kill his ears twitched at the young of his other sister waking up and speaking. Becoming slightly irritated by the lack of sharpness in his claws he kept at it but took a second to reply to Aranei "Mother Lin brought home a new friend." His voice reflected his excitement and his slightly sulk at the situation that Hel had pushed him away from playing straight away. Though he still got to speak to Lyssa first and that made him proud, also their where hints of irritation and concentration in his voice and he planned his next swipe at the webbing that was much tougher than it looked.

Aranei smirked slightly at her brother, approaching carefully as she licked him behind the ears. Twirling her head toward the little white girl, she tilted her head directly to the side, "She seems... perhaps... lighter than we are." She stated with a slight distaste before hovering over the kill. Noticing her brother was having trouble with the webbing she bent her head down and bit into it, pulling a large cobweb off before beginning to try and spit it out.

Lyssa stood still as Corin still tried to touch the spectral but before her could his sibling came bounding over. Lyssa took a step back in surprise. "Hello," she responded after she realizd one of the twins "It's nice to meet you Hel." Lyssa quickly peeked over Hel to see if Corin was alright. Lyssa giggled a little as e seemed to dash over to the web covered deer and try to scrape clean the webbing to a bite to eat. She wan't sure if Hel had heard her introduce herself and Zhi or not and so she repeated her and Zhi's name.
Hearing another voice Lyssa's ears perked causing the halo around her one ear to hover a little higher above her ear and glow dully. Lighter than them? Maybe was it because of her bright white fur colour? or maybe that little halo that hovered around her ear.. Either way suddenly Lyssa felt like the other twin liked her as much as Corin and Hel.
Lyssa was suddenly reminded of her hunger as the other two went to eat. Glancing unsure at the deer and then the three other cubs Lyssa went over to Corin and sat beside him hopefully Hel would come over too…

Hel turned her head in the direction of her twin. She watched as Aranei cleared the web away for Corin. "Why would you do a thing like that Ara? He would have gotten it eventually....".
She turned her attention back to Lyssa, who by this point had started towards the deer. Turning her head full circle and standing to follow she walked over to the kill Lin had brought home.

Bouncing on the spot he thanked Aranei for clearing an area away from the kill to give him more of a chance to actually eat rather than spending the next hour working at merely getting into it. It wasn't a matter of pride for him, he was quite becoming used to being surrounded by females and them all doing everything for him besides he was hungry and this way he got to eat sooner. Picking away at the hole his sister had made he started to reveal more of the kill so that he wouldn't be the only one whom would be able to eat. Stopping briefly only long enough to acknowledge Lyssa coming over, that made him happy that she'd followed after him and not stayed with Hel, maybe she'd like to play after they had both gotten their fill. Plus he wanted to try and put his paw through the cool spider of her's and see if it really wasn't quite real and solid like him and his sisters.
Turning he nuzzled Aranei remembering to show just how thankful he was, then smiled to Lyssa now a good area of webbing had been taken away and lay in dissolving shreds under the threes paws. "Yeah but she was just helping." Turning his head Corin stuck his tongue out at Hel.
Lin made a swift move behind the kill, flicking her claw at the other side to loosen her own webbing without stopping in her tracks she carried on and moved towards the shadowed corner Arei occupied.

Aranei's eyes swiftly approached the area that her twin occupied. Furrowing her brows, "Is it a problem to help my family?" She asked a little accusingly as she flicked her tail back and forth in a little irritation. "I believe family comes above all else, why is there a problem with that?" She sat back on her heels, watching Corinn begin to gnaw on the meat. She soon watched Lyssa walk over and moved just so the new girl could also get to the food. "Go ahead." She nodded her head gently when seeing that she was a little unsure.
Aranei began to feel her stomach rumble herself, but being as she was she quietly watched, making sure her brother and his new friend had their fill first.
Arei's eyes watched quietly from her perch, dark blue eyes glowing in a soft radiance being the only indication of her direction. Seeing Lin step forward, Arei slowly materialized, her body slowly forming as the darkness began to wash from her fur. Her eyes slightly shifted to the floor as she lowered her head into a bow in Lin's direction. "Welcome back." She stated in her deep voice.

Hel took great offense to Aranei's comment though she wasn't about let it show. Truth be told she would stand up and protect her brother if there was any real threat. Maybe she might even be nice to Corin if Aranei didn't always, well in Hel's opinion, baby him.
She walked up behind her twin. "No. I guess there isn't a problem helping the baby. I mean, when he grows up I guess he can just find someone who dose everything for him too." and with that she walked around and sat on the other side of Lin, flicking her tail in unintentional mimic of her twin.

Lyssa watched the twin's bicker seemingly in their own way. It looked like fun to argure with a sibling. Lyssa wasn't even sure if she had one let alone parents. Hey that was neat! Lyssa thought watching the twins. They mimiced eachother's movements! Was aguing like that normal? She wondered what a family was really like besides one of the parents having spider abilite this in her opinion was normal.
The white cub pulled a little more of the webbing away at the other twin's nod then sunk her small teeth into the juicy meat.

Pretending to ignore Hel's comment Corin moved forward and joined Lyssa in taking his share of the kill. Though it was quite apparent he'd heard as his ears flattened as he ate, rushing his mouthfuls and swallowing hastily, he didn't want to get in the way of anyone else whom was hungry even though there was flesh enough for the four cubs showing now. He was reassured by the occasional cheek and tail brush from Lyssa, whether it was intentional or not, because it felt kinda tingly, strange, he'd never had contact with anyone outside of the cave. Considering no-one other than family, and that was close immediate family, came into the cave it was a new sensation for him and it covered the embarrassment he felt rushing to his cheeks about the babying. They didn't baby him! Really... well no more than Mother Lin or Arei would, yea Hel was being silly, or at least he hoped thats what Lyssa thought. He didn't want to look like bad in front of the new cub, just out of first impressions he knew he wanted to play with her and be her friend she seemed nice and different!
It seemed Lin had planned where Arei would be perfectly and came to a stop just in front of her as she fully materialized, smiling to see her come into full view. Even without the new hatchlings halo of light Lin found it easy to see in the darkness, and though she couldn't determine Arei's form completely when in the shadows she knew this was her usual spot. "Thank you" Bowing in return she took a moment to take a seat back and lick Hel whom had just joined her "Dinner is served." She smirked a usual uneasy expression that seemed to come naturally to Lin, she'd usually crack a breakfast joke but there was not even a sign of morning yet. No sun to be seen, meeting the cub had brought her back slightly earlier than usual it seemed, wanting to keep the little Lyssa safe and in good protection. If nothing she knew if the cub would stay or even if it was a reoccurring visit Arei would back her up in it's safety if the cubs showed friendly interest in her. The bickering was no more than usual and at this point easy to ignore, all siblings did it, perfectly natural and no need to break up their fun, not unless things got out of hand.

As she continued eating Lyssa didn't realize she had brushed against Corin she was more lost in thought than he not understanding quite what a family was. Being with other cubs was something entirely new for her for the longest time ever since she had been born her only companion had been her specter familiar Zhi. Even by herself Lyssa had found herself wondering about Family and what it was like...
Zhi had jumped from her shoulder and onto the deer poking the torn flesh with her sharp forelegs and scooping up small bits of meat and blood into her mouth. It didn't take long for the spider to fill itself and return to Lyssa's shoulder.
Zhi Returned to Lyssa's shoulder the white cub snapped back from her thoughts. Lyssa turned to Corin and asked in a whisper "Do you always get 'babied'?" not quite grasping the same meaning of the word Corin was thinking of.
