It was a great day for being a man. Because he was a man, and every one in the universe would be able to see it by his. . .
Perhaps it wasn't a form of rippling muscle and great power ready to spring, but he got along very well, thank you!
Today he was busy running about doing his duty, and his duty was to protect the very far reaches of the pride. With the uncoming possiblity of an onslaught from his mother's sister, the place needed protecting and he was the one to do it!
He'd perched himself atop a large rock overlooking the vast valley. To the west he could see a great expanse of flowers, and to the east the mountain that rose up to tower with all of its dead grass. Hopeless cause, that mountain.

Alastair stalked quietly through the grass, though he stuck out like a..brown lion in green grass, he was hungry! He growled along with his stomach, he wasn't getting along well after the troublesome fight he had with an aggressive lion. Being a young adult and blinded in one eye was not easy to adapt to. He walked on, nothing was around worth running after anyway.

From his perfect vantage point, Bidii was under the assumption that he could see everything. That was until he was snuck up on unexpectedly by another, more brown, lion.
Perhaps snuck up wasn't the term, either. Leaping out of the way, Bidii turned around with his hackles raised and his claws out. What he saw in the green grass was nothing more than a lion of his own kind; it was still a moderate distance away as it was the rustling of the blades that had keyed Bidii to the others presence.
Braving himself up and hunkering down to prepare for the most malicious of attacks, Bidii called out, "Hey! Who goes there?"

Alastair froze a moment, swivelling his head and ears toward the yell. "Hello?" he blinked, he hadn't seen the male just a bit off from his straight direction he had been going in. "I am Alastair," he said, not wanting a fight or argument. "Who if I may ask, are you?" walking toward the male steadily but tensly, he wondered if he had made a mistake in answering. Maybe he should have ran? No. A coward would run.

Hah! He'd confused him! Excellent! If he was a dangerous sort, Bidii would have no problem tackling him now.
In fact, that was exactly what he had in mind. Ignoring the second question, she slunk around in the grass until he could just barely see brown through the grass.
Then he ran and sprung. The, "I got you, trespasser!" that he shouted as she flailed in the air might have given away his 'surprise attack'.
It was more like a cub playing than it was a ferocious pounce.

Alastair let out a snarl of surprise and tried to side step out of the way, only to trip and wind up on the ground. "I did not mean to trespass!" He yowled, suddenly panicking about the thought of being blinded in his other eye, or worse this time. "I was only wondering around sir! I am a traveling rogue, and I did not know if anyone lived here, I am terribly sorry!" Things came out of his mouth in a flurry as he tried to appeal to mercy, not knowing what exactly was going on. But if this male lion was serious, and was going to protect his land, he'd want no part in a fight, and would gladly leave, if he was given the chance.

He'd been hoping to land on something soft and squishy like a stomach, and not the ground. However, he'd captured his intruder in any case! Hah!
Bidii could deal with the sore foot from the bad landing so long as he had his enemy quivering under his paw. And quiver that enemy did; there was a flurry of apologies heading his way.
Blah, blah, blah. The important part was he'd been tough!
Of course, their queen would probably be slightly displeased. So, in a moment to redeem himself, he chuckled good-naturedly and sat back on his haunches. "Gave you quite a scare, didn't I?" The grin on his face aided in revealing the rest of his boasting pride. "It's just how we greet each other here. The pride is rough and tumble and always ready for action!" Those were all extreme exhaggerations, of course.
"The pride's open to everyone; don't make yourself browner than you already are!"

Alastair suddenly felt hot from embarassment. He got to his feet and frowned at the male, "Terribly sorry to intrude none the less," He looked the male over, he seemed oddly full of himself. At least he wasn't attacking him though. "Well, I'm thankful you did not try and fight me." He said honestly, a shakey smile on his face. Since his injury, he had failed at attempted fights, so he never looked to battle.

The frown only broadened the males grin even more. It seemed to please him that he had caused the other distress. Guilty until proven innocent in his book. Hey, it had worked for him so far.
"I won't fight anyone if it wouldn't be fair," Bidii pointed out obviously. His tail swished along the ground and sent little bits of dust this way and that. Every now and then it would pick up and slap the ground and create quite a disturbance.
Somewhere, a few birds flew.
"Where are you coming from, or going to for that matter?"

Alastair shrugged, "I go where ever the wind takes me, and I have no set direction." He watched the strangers tail, "I'm glad your since of justice and noble thoughts are better then others I've met." He nodded sincerely, thinking again, about his bad eye.
"I am Alastair, and you are?" He looked the male up and down.
