She'd woken up really late this time. The sun was setting, but she didn't care. Myrle loved the night, as Chagrin quickly learned. She did most of her hunting at night, and when it was like it was just now; they hunted together to get a big game. And together they dragged it back to the den and in it so the scavangers wouldn't get it.

There was a half eaten buck in the den right now, but she wasn't hungry just yet. Getting up from her spot, she gave herself a shake and did her whole routine, stretching all for legs and hearing her joints pop. She let out a happy little moan at the noise and sighed, gray eyes looking about for any signs of Chagrin.

"Gone already?" She murmured to herself, smirking a bit. That wasn't all together unusual. Myrle often found him up on the bolder looking up at the sky. "Chagrin, you out there?"

The lone male had grown accustomed to the female sharing his den and never before had he felt so comfortable in his life, he didn't feel alone and he always had someone to talk to. It was such a nice feeling, the constant big game they hunted for always filling his stomach instead of the normal hares and voles.

Chagrin lifted himself up a little as he heard Myrle call out to him, "Yes, I'm up here, come on up." he called out wagging his tail. He loved having Myrle here, he had long forgotten that Myrle planned to eventually leave, he had grown so used to her presence and loved it. His gold eyes sought out over the edge of the boulder his face smiling down at the she-wolf. He never knew quite what was in store for him each day with Myrle around, but that's what made life so much better.

Look up, she grinned at her friend and chuckled, nodding. She made her way up the path to the bolder. When she got there, she nipped his ear a little and then settled down beside him, yawning a bit. She hated waking up, that much was obvious. "Well, we don't need to worry about hunting. There's still buck from yesterday..." She tried to think of something for them to do today, that much was obvious. Humming as she thought, she tilted her head from one side to another before rolling ove on her side, tail thumping a few times.

It felt amazing out here. A lot cooler than usual for some reason. "What do you want to do today? I mean... No hunting... Soooo..." She gave a small shrug and looked up to the sky, watching it slowly darken.

Nodding about the lack of need to hunt that night he thought and he nipped at Myrle's ears. "I'm not sure..." he said continuing to think, nudging at Myrle as she rolled onto her side. "We could go exploring again...Go a little further out this time. I know I heard a waterfall the last time we were out."
He had never seen a waterfall before and the idea of finally getting to see one really sounded like a nice idea, he'd heard of them before and was drawn to seeing one. And maybe he and Myrle could spend to real nice quite time together away from the den. He stood up and towered over Myrle play biting at her muzzle, growling at her playfully.

A waterfall sounded fun. And a good way to bath after days of exploring. They explored every chance they got mainly because Myrle hated staying still for very long, unless she was asleep or eating. Just as she was about say something, there was a n** at her muzzle and she smirked, pawing up at his face with a playful growl of her own. "Oh, you think you're mister big shot, hm? Pinning a girl who's laying down.." It was practically purred at him, only she couldn't really purr. Getting up, she nipped at his nose and took off down the bolder, towards the way they went yesterday. "Come on! Let's go see the waterfall. Who knows, we could catch some fish falling right into our mouths,' she chuckled out, stopping in her run. She crouched, rear in the air, front paws extended out in front of her, elbows laying down on the ground. "Come on, slow poke!"

Chagrin took after Myrle, stumbling a little down the boulder. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" he called back wagging his tail, spotted rump jogging along after Myrle while he laughed. He was still a little stiff as he hadn't gotten up long before Myrle and his joints were always a bit stiff if he sat for too long, but he had grown used to it.

When he caught up to the she-wolf he licked at her muzzle and took off at a run tail high in the air. His spirits were high as he rain through the first of the tree line hiding behind trees. "You'll never catch me!" he called out to the female.

"Hey! That's not fair!" She said, chuckling as she ran after him. It was so hard to catch up to Chagrin once he got going like this. But she'd managed it some how. Her own tail was arched, touching her back as she zigged and zagged trying to get to the water fall, but she had to slow down and sniff for their scents. She often went in circles in the forest, because it was trees and little more. With a snort, she took a turn and listened for the waterfall. "Wasn't it this way?" She asked, sniffing the air and then a few trees. They'd been so many places in the week or so she'd been with him. "Hey, Chagriiiin. Which way?"

The way she looked at Chagrin was the way any female wolf would look at their best friend, full of trust and a certain type of love. Even if they were nothing more than friends, she didn't think she could honestly leave Chagrin by himself. He was just to vibrant to be left alone. When he was in good spirits, it was like having her own little personal sun. He just lite up her whole day, and then her world became brighter when she felt good.

The large male leapt out from behind a bush ambushing Myrle. "Gotcha!" he yipped nipping at the females flanks. "It's this way." he said trotting off through a particular set of trees, he had taken in their surroundings extremely well and had an amazing memory of some of the smallest details in the forest. His tail taking a long wave from side to side as his walked still held high and his nose scenting the air for the fresh water and the rumble of the heavy water falling.

His time with Myrle he treasured, it had been too long in his memory since he'd had company or anyone to talk to and he had no recollection of ever residing with another wolf. But it settled him mind and his heart, he knew his feelings were growing for the female. But he didn't want to say anything to her, he was afraid to scare her off and it may be too soon for him to even think of telling her.

She yelped at the n** to her flanks and moved to trot up behind him, chuckling and then licked along his muzzle softly. She brushed up against him as she moved ahead of him, following the faint sound of the waterfall. Then, she started at a sprint and made a happy noise when she saw the stream. That meant the waterfall was very close! Running into the shallows of the stream, she moved up stream, walking in the rocks and looked back to Chagrin.

Slowly but surly, he was settling himself into her life. She'd grown so used to living with him in this little time; it just clicked. She paused to watch him as a breeze made its way to her and she turned her face to it, panting and letting the air roll on her warm tongue, slowly she was cooling her blood down. Her heart was a different story. Time with Chagrin was something she couldn't get enough of.

He licked back at Myrle when she licked him. The sight of the stream made his heart just, they had to be getting close. As the both of the sloshed through the ankle deep water the current got stronger and the water deeper. The fish grew larger from swarms of minnows to small fish that he snapped at here and there. Once they found the waterfall there was sure to be much larger fish. "We must be getting so close!' he said his tail stirring up it's own wind on the warm evening.

The sun was slowly setting and forest was getting darker and the trees were thinning again. The fall couldn't be far at all. This time with Myrle was so special to him, he loved it so much.

She grinned and nodded a bit, dipping her head to snap at the minnows and then the slightly larger fish. She wasn't out to eat anything, just being a goof. "Maybe we'll meet someone else, huh? Learn more secrets and stories..." She thought about that for a moment before running up ahead. It was a slow run, stirring up the stream, making ripples and splashing her underbelly. But she didn't care. Turning a slight bend, she spotted the waterfall and barked out two him, grinning. "Look! There it is! Hurry up, Chagrin. So slow!" She teased him, kicking water up at him should he catch up.

The sight of the water made Chagrin's eyes grow wide, it was amazing. "Yeah, someone new..." he said slowly caught up in the awe of the sight. So this was what he had been missing hiding in his field living so close to his boulder covered den. The water flowed around his shoulders and flanks, his wagging tail creating a slight froth of the water behind him. When he snapped himself out of his daze when the water Myrle was splashing at him hit him in the face.

He snapped playfully at the female laughing. "This is amazing isn't it?" he asked looking down to see much larger fish swimming around his paws, his scars distorted from view by the clear, cool water which felt good with the warm night air around them.

She watched him with fascination and smiled a little bit. He wasn't very easy to impress, and it kind of struck her as charming. Chagrin didn't know it, but Myrle found him adorable in many ways. She brushed up against him and nodded, licking his ear a little and then sighed. "Mhm. Wait until you get under it. It feels good with the water running over your back and easing your muscles.." She whispered in to his ear before shuffling to go do what she just said. The fish scattered as she walked, not used to wolves being in this part. Or if they were, they were used to being hunted.

Finally she could get the dirt and twigs off of her. She'd find herself pretty again when she got clean. She moved under the waterfall, making sure her head wasn't under and groaned deeply as the pressure hit her back. "Nnn. You should feel this!"
