Rain. It was one of the many things that happened in the areas that humans inhabited. It could've shone or snowed but no, it HAD to rain. The sky was pouring today; raining strays and mutts. It wasn't good for anyone to go out. The wind howled and trees shook. It was like the world was coming to an end, only on a smaller scale and it really wasn't. In the common cat's eyes, it was torture. It was if the sky was just taking away their food and freedom. Oliver, was one of them. He despised the rain with all his might. It took away all the birds and the old ladies who feed them. It took away the little kids who could have fish cookies that they could spare. He was also trapped inside of a flimsy cardboard box under a small park bench.
The Selkirk Rex sighed to himself as he sat in a cardboard box that was on it's side, his arms holding him up from behind and his two legs out in front of him. His red overcoat lay next to him. It was warm even though it was raining. His stomach growled loudly that he swore that the ancient Greek gods could've heard. He rubbed one hand on his stomach. "Come on... just stay quiet until the rain lets out. I'll go find food after..." He told it. "You know how my fur gets." He said, complaining to it about his curly fur.

Raco knew better then to keep Valiant in during a rainy day. Storms were one of her few pleasures left, they let her wash away the filth that covered her from training. The only thing a storm couldn't do for her was wash the filth ingrained in her soul. The male cat had left her dirty, inside and out, though raco claimed that it wasn't her fault that the event occurred she could not help but disbelieve him. If she had been stronger, if she had been who she was today it wouldn't have happened. "Damn it all!" she muffled her own words with her fist. Her hand found a rock and she threw it against a wall a little off from the card board box. Then as the echo died she could hear another cat. Val slinked forward in her revealing clothes, pulling her long moonlight hair from her face, attempting to hide her fear.

a large THUD hut the side of the cardboard 'house' that Oliver resided in. "EEK!" he shrieked, still in a manly way as he jumped out of it and into the stormy weather. The box stopped shaking but Oliver? he was left wet. It soaked down past his curly fur and to his pale pink skin He looked around, pretty irritated at someone attacking his box, making him come out. He saw a girl. She seemed to be a free collar as well. Her body, clad in browns and greens. He couldn't tell who it was but from the blurry view from where he was, he could see that 'it' had a feminine figure.
"Who's there?" He called out towards the green-ish brown figure with blond hair. "Why'd you attack my box?" he said as he just gave up and sat on his wet tail in a puddle. His red overcoat still left in the soggy cardboard box. He wouldn't want to be attacked again if he went back in to get it. And plus, if he took it out, it'd be wet as well. Might as well leave it dry as it is in the box...

((im rping her in her next stage...I'll send you the link of what she looks like now))
Valiant being an Anbu in training had to compose herself. With a straight spine she walked toward oliver, who she had never met. Her eyes fell downward out of habit until she saw her scar just on her left hip. She looked up and met his eyes, shocked at the beauty in them. "I am Valiant, protegee to Raco, sent on an impossible task, and accidentally hit your home out of frustration." A huge raindrop fell and hit her in the head, She turned and glared at the sky taking her eyes off of her opponent for a few seconds. Then turned quickly to him, whipping herself in the face with her hair. "damn it all." she muttered again clearly irritated at the weather and her lack of concentration today. Her eyes looked about him for anything to distract herself, why would she, find him, as 'pretty?'

A tingle went up Oliver's spine as she looked more composed as she walked forward. she was more clear as she approached, pearly white skin, but still covered with rain. "Valiant." He repeated softly. "promising name." He said trying to be friendly. He hadn't heard that other name before though... Raco. It didn't sound like someone that he'd want to mess with.
"Your task. It's impossible to complete?" He asked the obvious. "I mean, sorry. You just said that." he said nervously chuckling to himself as she swore to what he suspected was thin air. He felt violated as her eyes searched him... "would you... care to stay until the weather clears up?" He offered to her kindly. It was only a box and it wasn't his permanent home anyways. Least he could've done as a gentleman was offer a dry(er) place to a woman than to leave her in the cold.

Val held her hair out of her face as she got closer, a blush covering her face. "it would be lovely..." As he mentioned her name being promising she blushed crimson, trying to avoid the flustered state she had grown accustomed to. Her name didn't suit her anymore, yes she saved innocents, but she killed as well. She avoided his gaze as she crawled into the cardboard box, giving him a full view of her long legs. She settled and still avoided looking at him. "its a promising name for one not so promising."

Being oblivious, he didn't notice the reddening of her cheeks as she walked closer and avoided eye-contact. He just smiled brightly as she accepted the offer. Oliver followed behind her as she headed into the box. He pulled the red jacket from where he would sit and sat down next to her. "I'm sure you're promising. Impossible tasks are impossible. are they not?" He said to her. He placed his dry red jacket on her back. She wore less than him and it would be an even harder task if she were to catch a cold from the rain.
With the lack of eye-contact, he thought she was a little shy. He chuckled a little as he tried to change the subject. "You remind me of a housemate that I used to live with." He started. He paused for a bit, then continued the story. "she was a white cat with a bushy tail. Also with long legs like yours and she was very shy when she first came to the household." He said with a chuckle, hoping to make the mood in the box brighter than the weather outside.

Valiants eyes darted down as she pulled the sweater to cover more of her. "Im not shy, I just feel like an idiot looking like this." she mumbled trying to cover more of her body. Being an assassin was one thing, but having to look like a slut was another. She blushed and looked away. "you have very pretty eyes you know, I dont often run into one with them as clear as yours." Had she really just said that? Valiant spared a glance at him out of the corner of her eye. Her mind thought of Remi and their impossibility of a relationship and how she was no complementing another... the girls at camp must be getting to her val thought bitterly and realised she was staring. "sorry." she said and looked away again.

"Why do you think you look like an idiot?" Oliver asked out loud. His eyes focused on the rain. She seemed to not want to be stared at as she pulled his sweater closer to her body. "If you like what you wear, then it's fine." He tried to reassure her. He shut his mouth to hear her talk. At the second comment she made, Oliver began to feel his body go warm. It was unexpected to him. No one really complemented on his eyes before. No one really even noticed the icy blue of his eyes at all. a quiet "Th-thank you." slipped from his mouth, but that was all he could say. Oliver's black and white ears flickered as he heard her speak once more. He liked listening to her voice. It sort of made him wonder what she sounded like if she were to meow...
"There's nothing to be sorry for." He didn't notice her stare, and avoided staring himself...

Val looked herself over, closing her eyes at the image that placed itself there. She must have been a mess. "Being an anubu... the .... uniform is rather.... revealing, and not quite what im used to." Val said all in one breath, braiding a small piece of her hair. She smiled, remembering the beautiful braids that once decorated her head, and now only few remained... what was it the girls had said? oh yes, men like hair they can run their hands through. Val sighed and stopped looking at the boy dead on for the first time. "thank you... I have to say your the first that hasn't judged me by my nervous ramblings." Her eyes held the sincerity as she let the coat slip back a little more. For some reason he was getting her to talk, perhaps it was her needing it, or it was simply him, but something about today seemed ... pleasant. "I see you use knifes too. May I?" she asked reaching for the blade around his wrist, in trade she pulled out one of her glass short swords from a boot and handed it out to him. At least this was something she understood.

Oliver chuckled at her talking. It wasn't that he was laughing at her in a mean way, but he thought she was quite an amusing type of cat. "It's not your fault for nervous rambling." He said reassuring her. She really reminded him of that cat not so long ago... While dazing into his own little dreamland, thinking of the white cat, he snapped out at the sound of Valiant's voice. "Uh, sure." He replied as he moved his wrist closer to her and relaxed to let her get at them without much difficulty. He took her glass blades carefully as not to hurt anyone or drop them. "Mine aren't in the best condition. so don't laugh!" He said jokingly. He never once had to use those blades, so they were never polished off; only wiped clean from wet rainwater or something.

Val smiled and delicately undid the straps that bound one of the blades from his wrist. She looked it over with a keen eye. "They are nice, well balanced, though I wouldn't suggest using them with the band for throwing. You dont fight much with your weapon, otherwise it would show some kind of battle scar unless they are magicked ... which I highly doubt." She allowed to watch his face from the corner of her eye as she spoke, trying to decipher the emotions that would cross there, but sadly Valiant had never been good at reading people.

Oliver just chuckled softly as he listened to her conclusions. "You got me there." He said to her. He never did fight once before in all his career as a free collar. He never really had to. "They're for short range fighting." He said. He would never throw his short swords. He really liked them and didn't want to ruin them in his first battle. They were special to him even though he didn't use them at all.
"and no worries there, I'm not magic. Honestly." He said to her with a cheerful laugh. His ears straight up as he spoke to her while looking straight at her. Might as well not be shy anymore as it wasn't getting him anywhere in making conversation. "But you seem like a fighter." He added as he noted the mark on her shoulder. He only knew one other cat with that marking and she was actually quite a lazy bum. But from the stories that he had heard about the band of cats, they seemed to be elite fighters. He turned his head back to the outside world where the rain still dripped from the dark clouds.

Valiant looked back at him, Curious how he would know what she was. “Yes… I’m afraid I have had to be a fighter.” She leaned back and pointed to the scar just over her hip and disappearing into her skirt. “That was how I came about being one of the Anbu… Raco… the male I train under has been in charge for awhile now. I’m afraid to say I’ve given up quite a lot to become one of them, but It was my choice. ” She turned to face him and handed him his knifes back gently. “and what’s your sob story?”

He looked over at her at the scar on her hip. It looked painful to have experienced that. "How did you get this scar, if you don't mind me asking." He reached a hand to touch it, but realized that she might not have liked that and retreated his hand. "That Raco person sounds pretty nice to have taken you under his wing. or in this case, in his paws." Oliver was happy that she looked safe, regardless of the few scars that came from the whole ordeal. "My sob story? Well, it was so long ago... My human had taken in another cat and myself. She worked a lot and earned little. She fed us more than she fed herself. She looked so weak and hungry while the other cat and I were so well fed. Always eating pedigree food and clean water. I had to do something. So I made off into the night and fended for myself." He chuckled at his own past. "It sounds sort of stupid, I guess." He said with another nervous laugh.
