He was here again!? What was wrong with him? Had that stupid pink ushujaa brainwashed him or something? She was so strange, he wouldn't put it past her. But yet, he had his excuse, dragging the meal for the warriors in the form of a large antelope - the best kill they'd made for several weeks. They'd managed to corner the herd, and had taken down several of the larger bucks, providing them with enough for the upcoming feast. He was quite proud, having taken one down purely by himself, and he'd managed to gain backsome pride and dignity from his past...mistake.

Speaking of which, his injuries had healed, and his limp was no longer present. The bruise was still a little tender, but had disappeared below his fur, making it impossible to see. With a grunt, the large lion dropped the kill in the usual spot, brick-coloured eyes instinctively flickering up to the large boulder, that that one female seemed to enjoy leaping out from behind. Last time she'd surprised him, and made him jump. But she wouldn't this time. he was prepared.

He should've been leaving now, as he should each time. But yet again he found himself drawn to the place, unable to leave just yet. His head was telling him to turn and run, before she could mock and irritate him. But there was a warm feeling in his chest that he hadn't experienced before, and it was that feeling that was urging him to wait just a little longer.

Godddds, it was too warm. Why were the days so warm and the nights so cool? Hasaa wanted ice and chilly wind; she wanted freezing temperatures. What was all her fur for if she had to lie in the heat and pant it out? Fur was for keeping warm, wasn't it? So what was the point of keeping warm...IN THE WARM?

The heat was making the lioness a tad more irritable, wide eyes slightly tensed and narrowed, hinting at a glare. She remained watchful, scanning, scanning, always scanning. There was nothing unusual, no disturbances, nothing to be on guard about.

Why, why, WHY?!

Something needed to HAPPEN, already.

Why didn't a god come out and kick the sun out of the sky?

Scraping her claws against the rocks beneath her paws as she stalked through the valley, Hasaa heard a sound. Her heart skipped a bid, excitement rushing through her at the thought of action. The sound came from her usual spot; the boulder. But Hasaa wasn't at the border. Hasaa was walking around, watching for trouble.

Curling around a tree to catch a glimpse of her boulder, she saw a very, very familiar figure.

And a wry smile stretched across her pink face.

Body dropping low into stalk mode, the lioness crept through the grass along the ground, heading straight for the male lion in the distance. Haha, how funny he looked, gazing so intently at that boulder. He was so prepared for her to jump out, the poor dear. And when one was so fixated on one spot, one completely ignored every other spot...Much to Hasaa's advantage.

Finally close behind the male, Hasaa stood, revealing her presence.

"Hello~!" she drawled sweetly.

It was true - he was determined she wouldn't surprise him by jumping out from behind the boulder. He was totally prepared for when she'd jump over the top of it, landing effortlessly on the hard ground. He wasn't, however, prepared for her to appear behind him. Whilst her voice didn't make him jump as she had last time, his muscles visible tensed, eyes narrowing a little as he swung his huge head around to watch her carefully for several moments, trying to gauge her mood.

Was she in a 'let's not mock Mkuu' mood today, perhaps? He doubted it, somehow. Turning his body to face her, finding it uncomfortable to just turn his head, he towered over her yet again, eyes fixed carefully on her. "...Evening."

"Quite a coincidence seeing you again, Mkuu." she said quietly, circling around him until she stood in front of him, like usual. She scraped her claws along the dead prey a few times, gazing around absentmindedly. The sound of claws scraping flesh was almost like a soothing white noise to her, and she proceeded to scratch it for several moments while doing absolutely nothing but stare around aimlessly. Then she met Mkuu's eyes and smiled, speaking again.

"You were slow on your way up here, I imagine. Smells a bit festering." she remarked, almost enthusiastically. "It's quite a hot day, isn't it? On such days, meat doesn't smell so fresh when it sits out for too long..." she sighed, eyes flicking down to the prey. She put her bloodied paw away from the prey beast and stretched it out before her face, stretching her claws and examining the way the blood shined on them. Abruptly, she stopped, mouth forming an "o" and ears perking up. Paw still hovering before her, she turned her head to the male. "Oh, wait, isn't your leg terribly hurt from your horrible run-in with a baby water buck?"

That would, of course, explain things.

Ugh, what was with this circling!? Mkuu growled softly, irritated. But then that was him with the lionness, ever so easily irritated. If it wasn't the circling, it was her posture. If it wasn't her posture, it was her smirk. And if it wasn't the smirk, it was that teasing, arrogant tone of voice she used. It was enough to make him explode!

Slow? Mkuu snorted - he'd like to see her dragging a kill that size. Having learnt from their past few meetings he ignored her comments about the meet, not taking the bait. He instead snorted, blowing the air from his nostrils as he yawned widely. Hey, it was late and he'd been catching prey all day. It was hard work, even for a large lion like him. Or even, especially for a large lion like him, as he had more 'weight' to carry. When she mentioned his leg, though, his eyes flashed up, maw twitching. He shouldn't take the bait, it was what she wanted...

But he couldn't help the growl, as he turned on her, puffing his chest out and standing to his full height. "My leg is fine. Now be grateful." he murmured, through gritted teeth.

Hasaa laughed loudly into the air, eyes squinting with mirth, for once looking normal instead of too wide.

He certainly was growing on her.

Like a fungus.

A sick, lovely fungus. But hell, she wasn't complaining.

She liked it.

"I'm always grateful, Mkuu. Didn't you know~?" she drawled sweetly, pressing a paw to her chest. "I'm so grateful, I'll invite you to have a bite. You certainly could use it." she remarked. Only time could tell what she would say next. It was always a guessing game with the pink lioness. Then again, it wasn't much of a game if you always lost.

"Sounds like you've got quite a bit of phlegm, with all that growling. Perhaps a bite of meat will clear it up? It really is a very unattractive sound~."

He scoffed. Always grateful? Yeah, right. He sneered lightly at her, trying to play her at her own game, but still strictly irritated by that drawled and her smug expression. Her invitation was bordering on an insult as he eyebrows furrowed downwards, creating an angered expression on his face as thick eyebrows practically hid his eyes.

And then he growled again, despite the clear insult she gave. His throat was fine, and she knew it - it was her that was causing it all, her that was - what has she called it? The phlegm? His growl deepened this time though, as his claws emerged from his paws, kneeding into the ground to relieve some of his frustration.

"Why do you feel the need to insult others?" he finally grumbled, having calmed himself a little, "It's very 'unattractive', as you might put it."

"Insult?" Hasaa echoed, looking aghast, eyes wide as ever. "I've never insulted anyone in my whole life." She stood, ears swiveling as she stared at the male. It was unclear why she stood. Perhaps she was expecting something to happen; or willing something to happen. Maybe she knew that by standing, the male would become even more on-edge? Maybe it was all a plan? Maybe she had everything figured out from the start?

Or not.

That was Hasaa.

"But if you've just called something in me 'unattractive'...Does that mean..." she mused slowly, a wide smile stretching across her maw. She moved her face close to the male's. "You think I'm attractive?" she breathed.

He couldn't help but snort. Never insulted anone in her hole life? Yeah, RIGHT. She was constantly throwing insult after insult at him! How could she say that with any dignity! Unless...unless she was mocking him again! His stance shifted, becoming offensive and annoyed, just as he was feeling. He growled softly again.

But then...he was totally thrown by her. That smug smirk and horrible drawling voice...how could she even think he found her attractive!? Unable to help himself, his cheeks flushed a red to match his mane, as he took a step backwards, completely thrown. I...why wasn't he denying it already!? Why wasn't his brain controlling his mouth and telling it to laugh and mock her in return!? Something was wrong. Very, very wrong.

And so, in his panic he found himself snarling, leaping forwards at the female sudenly in an attempt to...well, he didn't really know what.

Hasaa was met with a huge, powerful blow; something she hadn't felt in a long time. Not since the days of her training, when lions would throw themselves at her to test her. This was like those times, only it held something much, much different. Next to the excitement of a potential brawl was something else.

Instead of grinning, she was gaping.

Body thrown to the grass, she landed hard on her back, the air getting knocked out of her. Large, powerful paws pinned her down. Hasaa's jaw was hanging, eyes even wider than the norm, gazing up at the male.

He had pounced on her!

And then...she grinned.

He had hit her. And whereas most males might find a guilty, horrified feeling flowing through them for daring to leap at or hit a female, Mkuu just felt...glad. Happy, that he'd finally managed to shut her up. And she was laying there, gaping like a fish...

Woa, WAIT. She was laying...UNDERNEATH him. Suddenly very, very aware of the situation Mkuu didn't just feel his cheeks, but his whole body light up red with embarrassment, his eyes growing wider and nostrils flaring. No, NO! She was grinning, and she wasn't allowed to do that! He'd just given her what she wanted, and...and now what!?

Confused and furious at himself, he leapt off of her, flashing a horrified look as he raced off into the distance, desperate to be as far from her as possible.

What had he done?
