This thread is for reccomending other artists that fans of At The Drive-In or Mars Volta might enjoy.
I'll start with King Crimson.
They are an obvious influence on Mars Volta. Thye're a progressive rock band that is well known for their intense live performances and jazzy improvisations. Also, the lead guitarist Robert Fripp was a major influence on Omar's guitar sound.
In The Court of the Crimson King, Red, and Larks Tounges in Aspic are all good albums to look for.

Some other bands that I really enjoy are Muse, Franz Ferdinand, The Dresden Dolls, HIM, Broken Social Scene, Uhhhhhhhhh (brain fart gonk ) System of a down, Trouveres, Dallas Green, and a bunch of other bands that I can't think of at the moment. I'd recommend all of these bands. whee

They are not bad just a bit dull and predictable in my opinion.
Has anyone heard of Free Moral Agents?

I know who Free Moral Agents are, I just haven't been able to find their music anywhere. And I'm too cheap to buy a CD without having heard some of it first. crying
Les Savy Fav are a good band, and they're pretty close to The Mars Volta. They've been on tour together, and TMV have invited them to play at All Tomorrow's Parties. They have some interesting lyrics too, even if the music isn't your thing.
