The leopard sat perched on the lowest branch of a tree, tail and one front paw hanging down limply. He was kinda bored... He'd eaten already today, he'd meandered around, done some training, found some water and returned to this tree... Yes, he was certainly in need of something to do.
Eyes half closed he scanned the horizon lazily for some sign of action- nothing. This was how life had gone for him for the last couple of days. However, the leopard closed his eyes and opened them all the way- resolute to find a cure to this boredom. With one liquid motion, he landed on the ground and headed off in the opposite direction from what he had been facing, determined to find someone to entertain him for the rest of the afternoon.

[I don't have a smaller picture yet, so sorry!] 'Too much walking' was the only thing on Nja's mind. She'd been trying to make good ground on her way to, well, nowhere. The poor lioness hadn't a clue where to head to, but she was making sure to go somewhere. A little bite to eat here and there, a drink, and a pause; then she went back to walking. The heat of the sun had worn her out, but she resolved to keep going.... After a short break.
It was growing colder as the sun began to set over the horizon and Nja found it very easy to lie right where she was. With the sun off to the side, it was nice to lay on the dirt. It wasn't too hot or too cold. It was very dusty, though. Nja sighed and tried to clue out her fur which was now a dusty pink rather than the color it should have been. "Drat."

((I don't mind. :3))
Ixil became more vigilant when he heard a voice from somewhere nearby. A female voice, he couldn't discern the species, but he spotted her after knowing she was around. His eyes latched onto the pink form in the distance and he padded strongly her way. And noisily, since she didn't seem to be facing him yet. Nothing was worse than a startled female, they tended to not take too kindly to that. Ix knew that from experience.
"Hey~ Care for a bit of company?" He asked, though it was him who cared for some. Regardless.
Lioness, it seemed. That was cool, as long as she wasn't a maniac, that was always a chance out here in the roguelands. She didn't look like one, though. The first reaction of hers would tell him that much.

The sound of a voice startled her, since she hadn't heard one in... oh... two days? "Goodness me! My heart just jumped up to my throat." After a moment of recoiling from her shock, Nja smiled at the leopard boy. The brown pelted male didn't seem like sure a bad personality, seeing as he asked if she had wanted company first.
"Sorry, no, not at all.... Well... I would if it involved moving. My paws are extremely sore."
Njalo'a, made sure to remain we mannered. It was only polite of her, seeing as this was probably his home area and she was just passing though.

Well, he saw the surprise coming. Stealth came naturally to most leopards, and Ixil was no exception. It was so contrary to try to be loud, he wasn't entirely surprised that he'd actually managed to sneak up on her. "Sorry!" He said when he got a chance. Well, she didn't seem mad about it, nor crazy, so it seemed he'd found some good company.
The male nodded slowly as she explained the surface of her situation. "Lots of walking for you, huh?" He asked, sitting back on his haunches, tail flicking back and forth lightly behind him. "I'm cool with just sitting." It was better to sit and chat with a stranger than to sit bored out of your skull in a tree, that's what Ix always thought. "So, the name's Ixil, or just plain Ix, if you prefer," he introduced with a small dip of the head. "While I know you don't want to walk anymore, there's a water hole not far from here? It might be refreshing is all," he offered. Usually, when he didn't walk anymore, water was a welcome blessing.

"Plenty of walking for me. I do apologize for my whining, though. I'm must come of as so annoying, espically to a stranger." Nja gave an awkward smile, hoping she didn't come off as an obnoxious whiner. She tried to make a big point of being a well mannered lion around others.
Nja's tail twitched as he suggested walking, but she calmed when he introduced himself by name. "I'll call you by which ever you prefer, Ixil. My full name is quite long. It's Njalo'a'le'hle, but it's quite a bit easier to be to just call me Nja." Only when Ix mention the water hole did she realize how thursty she was. "Oh goodness, that'd be great. I didn't even know I was thurst until you said that."

"Oh no, it's not a problem. Everyone has to complain a bit every now and then, right?" He asked. Though... He wouldn't say the same about himself- Ix wasn't much of a vocalizer. He had a strong image to keep, and complaining... would take away from that.
"I don't mind which you call me. My full name's pretty short, but I know plenty of others who shorten it further, so I don't really mind," the leopard said matter-of-factly with a slight nod. His ears perked up and he gave a very definite blink when she told him her name- in full. "Wow. That is a long name. So Nja is what I'll be calling you," he said with a small smile, doubtful that she'd mind him shortening her name.
"Well, it just occurred to me that I'm thirsty myself," he said with a light chuckle. "It's over this way," he said, rising to his paws, "we can talk on the way there, too. So..." The leopard started to pad in the direction of the water hole, "Are you a roguelander? Or do you belong to a pride?" he asked- always a valuable piece of information to know.
