|{ I'm anxious to get started RPing, so I'm just going to assume by the wording of the first post that we can begin? If not, just prod me and I'll delete this. }|
Harriet had literally been forced to bodily drag her brother from their little two-story home out into the eyes of the public. He had given reasons ranging from a stubbed toe to sudden-onset Tourette's to not have to leave, but of course they had all failed and out they went. Why Gideon always insisted he didn't want to go outside was lost on Harriet. His freckles were fading, he'd been in there so goddamn long! She wandered with him in silence until she spotted a nice little restaurant nestled on a street corner and brought him inside. She spoke to the hostess, got a table that was part of a long stretched booth in the back, and happily chattered over her menu.
"This is a nice place," she chirped, "We should come here more often!"
"If the food's any good," Gideon mumbled. Honestly, he had a rather painless little scratch on the heel of his palm that he feared may begin to bleed. That was the last thing he needed.
----
Amanda, however, had already been sitting at the other end of this long stretch of booth, sipping tea as she contemplated the menu. Service here was incredibly slow, but the food was always worth it. She glanced toward the new arrivals once, smiled in case they may have caught her eye, and then turned back to her menu.

"I need something to drink at least." Zach told his sister, Alexis, as the two entered the restaurant. He held the door open for her, and she gave him a smile as she entered. "You've been singing a bit too much." Alexis replied. "You're really determined to get that part in the play!" Zach selected a song to sing from the play for his tryout, and he spent his whole day wandering around the house singing. As he talked to his sister, his voice seemed a bit faded, as if he were losing it.
The restaurant seemed a bit vacant, so the two didn't spend time choosing a table. "Next to a window?" Zach asked, always enjoying the view outside, but Alexis shook her head. "Too sunny! I don't want to be blind." Zach decided to be nice today, so the two sat at table away from the windows.

Thali was frowning, something unusual for the elf. She'd been told to come here by a friend, and she wasn't enjoying it. She didn't know anyone. She didn't like the looks of the place. The dim lighting of the the restaurant hurt her eyes. Her ears twitched as she spotted two people walk in. She gave a friendly wave, and picked a table next to the window. At least the sun was shining.
Stupid half empty restaurant. Thali would get Risa for this. And make her pay. This was going to be a long day.

Alexis didn't catch sight of the wave, but Zach did. He slightly tilted his head, wondering if she was waving at him, but didn't care and waved back anyway with a large grin. But when he watched her sit next to the window, he appeared crestfallen. "Oh get over it!" Alexis joked, pulling her brother down onto a seat and handing him a menu. "We can sit there next time we eat here!"
The bell on the front door chimed as Jayce entered the restaurant. A couple people glanced to see who entered, and began minding their own business. Nudging Alexis, Zach stood back up. "Jayce!" he shouted, waving to get his attention. Catching sight of the two, Jayce silently headed towards the table, and joined the two. Zach handed his menu to Jayce. "I don't need it." he explained. With sign language, Jayce replied. Your voice sounds miserable.
Alexis giggled. "He's losing it from practicing for the play tryout." she said, and Jayce nodded to show that he understood.

Thali couldn't help it, they had caught her interest. She glanced over there once or twice, then pretended she hadn't by quickly looking at her menu. Occassionally, her eyes would move over it, and look at the group. Soon, she became bored, (as elves tended to do when they had no one to talk to) and decided to make her way over there.
Thali smiled at the three. "My name is Thali." She said, politely. "May I ask your names?"

"I'm Alexis." the girl said with a smile, and she pointed at Jayce. "This is Jayce." Jayce gave Thali a slightly shy grin and a nod. Zach leaned forward in interest. "Name's Zach." he said. Giving her a wink, he said, "Why don't you sit with us?"

Thali smiled at all three of them, and gave an interested look in Zach's direction. Someone to flirt with? Hm. This might be fun after all. "Sure, I'd like that." She said, taking a seat next to him. "Are you losing your voice?" She asked.

Zach nodded. "I'm trying out for the community play." he replied.
"Luckily, he doesn't sound like that all the time!" Alexis teased, and Zach jokingly nudged her. Shortly after, a young waitress appeared. "Are you ready to order?" she asked. The group nodded. "I'll just have a lemonade." Zach managed to say, trying not to completely lose his voice. Alexis briefly stared at the menu, and said, "I'll have the french dip sandwich." The waitress nodded, writing the orders down. Jayce looked up at her, pointing at what the wanted. Leaning to see what the order is, the waitress nodded, writing it down. "Soup and sandwich, okay!" She took their menus, and asked Thali, "Anything you'd like?"

"Oh, you're an actor!" Thali said, sounding interested. "I've never been in a play, what's it like? What play?" Maybe she knew it--she saw most of the ones done around there. She'd be sure to see it if she hadn't, she was an arts nerd--maybe it came with her age.
The elf paused, and looked at the menu. "A turkey sandwich, fries on the side." She said, "And a glass of Dr. Pepper." She clearly wasn't used to ordering food. At home, she was the cook.

DO YOUR WOMEN WORK, THALI
Recording the elf's order, the waitress nodded. "Be back with the drinks!" she said, walking away.
"I'm trying out for Singing In the Rain." Zach told Thali. "I'm hoping to get a lead role."
Jayce and Alexis exchanged glances, starting their own conversation. Jayce's hands were a slight blur, his sign a bit sloppy. Alexis and Zach were so used to sign language, he didn't have to be so careful and accurate when talking to them.

"I'm sure you'll get it." Thali said with a smile. "You seem to be putting your heart into it--and your voice." She paused. "I know some that are trying out for Romeo and Juliet. Acting isn't really my thing, but I enjoy watching them."

Daryan Cruse;; Off to a restaurant with a friend! Daryan smiled to himself as he walked along the sidewalk with Klavier. During there time in high school, they both secretly dated for about a semester or so. After awhile, they ended up just being good buddies. Today, Klavier just moved in to town, and Daryan wanted to show him around and get his high school buddy familiar to the place. They were both making there way to a restaurant where Daryan was a frequent customer. It wasn't exactly the food that lured him to go there every other day... ~Klavier Andres;; Off to a restaurant with a friend! Klavier pouted to himself as Daryan and him made there way in front of the casual looking restaurant. He didn't want to meet people, he just felt so odd with his angel wings sticking out from his back. He wasn't in the mood to eat or drink at the moment either, he just wanted to stay at his new apartment and get to sleep, he was still jet-lagged from the airplane flight. He sighed to himself as Daryan opened up the door for the both of them. Klavier made his way inside, Daryan following suit. He looked around the pleasant restaurant, folding his wings as much as he could. Both of them made there way to a seat at the far left end of the room, located near a window.

"Better yet, he's trying out next week, wanna watch it with us?" Zach's eyes seemed to widen a bit. He wasn't a fan of people watching him try out. The more that appeared, the more embarrassed he would become.

(We like short, actually--then we can reply faster. heart I just fall into the habit of short posts when in this guild.)
"Sure, I'd love to see it." Thali said, and paused, looking at Zach's expression. She tilted her head. "If that's alright with you, of course." She said. "I know I'd be worried if someone I didn't know very well came to watch me on stage.." She shuddered at the thought. Her, on stage? She got enough attention as it was.
