"Izzi what are you doing?!" I called after my new stallion as he pranced about in the stables. He was pacing back and forth, back and forth, his golden hooves waring out the ground beneath them.
"I'm tired of waiting!" He whinnied and I heard him in the back of my mind. "I want to go meet the others now! Please, oh please, oh please?!" He jumped slightly, almost raring up.
"Izzi, you know we're going to meet them all soon!" I argued, but only half heartily as a smile dawned my features. Izzi and I have only known each other for a short time, only meeting by chance as the young stallion had gotten himself in a bit of trouble with a troll. I saved him, puzzling the troll with an old riddle as we escaped with our heads and without having to pay the ridicules tole. I was not looking to be a chosen by the lovely Azrein, but he chose me and I've been happily stuck with him since. "We just got to our new stables! Could you at least wait till the morning? It's almost dinner!"
"But Crys!" He whined, his head bowing so that horn of his almost touched the ground and his long firey red mane just barely grazed it. He seemed to pout as his ears laid to the side and his tail swung low. "I wanna meet them now!"
I stood there with my arms crossed over my chest, frowning as a glared at the overly rambunctious stallion. It didn't last though. I sighed and let my arms fall to my side and I bowed my head in defeat, silver hair falling before my face. "2 hours. Then come home for dinner, alright?"
"Yeah!" Izzi gave a loud and happy whinny, raring on his hind legs and tossing his mane side to side. He dashed threw the open stable doors and out into the fenceless fields before him. He could run for days it seemed, his tanned coat shimmering in the flames of the setting sun.
Izzi slowed his canter as he came to a stream, he was slightly out of breath and was in need of a little water to quench his thirst.
