Post a little/lots of your favorite book from Harry Potter and state why. Also, you can post anythings about the Ravenclaw aspect of Harry Potter.

I think i like the 4th book the best becouse it has numerous details and a LOT of fluff in between the chrecters. It was also drawn out in a way you dont notice. Not SO LONG you get bored, but long as in you happy it wont end earlier. I also found funny parts in it as well, that made it all the more enjoyable ^^

I hate how J.K plays Ravenclaws an mean. Whe nyou think about it most of the Raenclaws are, Cho, Padma, Michael Corner(sp?) and Marietta (Cho's Friend), the only nice Ravenclaw is Luna, wh oyou have to admit is strange, not that that's a bad thing. I wish she'd make us more likeable!

Well I think she does that because a lot of the ravenclaws do seem to act more supperior than those that are less fortunate to be in their house. Luna is a strange one though. She has simmiliar characteristics as Harry but in a greater scale. Oh yeah sorry my favorite book is book 3. I read that book before i read any of the other books and well that is why i like that book.

I wish she'd make us more likeable! isn't part of the ravenclaw chraracteristics that though they are wise but they don't have a big spot for emotion possibly meaning they're cold hearted

I don't think that J.k. is making ravenclaws to be all that bad. I mean Cho was really sweet. I just think that she isn't showing enough of them in the books. And she isn't showing Hufflepuff at all. I feel bad for that house.

"Wit beyond measure is a man's greatest pleasure" - -Luna Lovegood, who is my favourite character! Still, my favourite is a toss-up between HBP and PoA...I really haven't had sufficient time to decide (yes, 4 months is not enough!)
I like Ravenclaws...even though all the tests i take put me in Gryffindor, i'd say i'm more on the Ravenclaw side...and, i agree JK seems to portay them as mean, but, that's only a select few

My favorite book is book 4. I enjoy that during most of this book, Harry doesn't really have to deal with Voldemort. It's almost like you forget about him and focus on all the relationships, festivities, fights and romances going on around harry. Then suddenly at the end you're jolted back into it worse than ever.
I don't think that JKR portrays Ravenclaws as 'mean' in any way. I think we just haven't seen enough of Ravenclaws yet to be able to draw a deduction like that.
I rather like Cho. She's overemotional, complicated, impossible to read and angsty.
But hey.. we couldn't let harry have it too easy could we? wink

Really i think she put them as a haughty sort of group you know , I mean yes she made them seem superior but really I think it has to do with the get respect earn respect state of mind. You do something for Ravenclaw , Ravenclaw'll do something for you. Like during the matches , Ravenclaw only supported Gryffindor
because they wanted them to beat Slytherin , well when they didn't Ravenclaw was pissed , and when Harry made a simple mistake well yea they got pissed on that note too. So um I just think that she based Ravenclaw off of you know , the popular clique you'd see in your hallway at school.
Oh yeh my faverite book will have to be mmm HBP, and OOP , because they explain things as they didn't in the other books.

I think that the Ravenclaws seem mean because they're very logical. The books are told from a Gryffindor-ish POV and Gryffindors are not all that logical (with the exception of Hermione who the hat ALMOST put in Ravenclaw).
People who are logical are usualy spoilsports when it comes to things that shouldn't work, which is...Harry's whole life. They also tend to keep to themselves, because it's really hard to have a conversation with someone who you have to keep defining words for.
Also, let's face it, Ravenclaws are big geeks. And how often do you see big geeks getting along with other kids?
