Just got back from vacation, so things are pretty good. Almost caught up on work too!

I went to Toledo, Ohio last Saturday. Hubby wanted to check out a bar they are playing in June, so I made him drag us along.

We had dinner at Tony Packo's and Sunday we spent the day at the zoo. If you like stuffed cabbage, chili or that sorta of thing, I highly recommend Tony Packo's. Don't forget to check out their buns if ya go wink

Hope all those in the US had a nice Memorial Day weekend!

We went for a picnic in the Sandia Mountains Sunday for Memorial Day with Jason's whole family, minus Audra and Michael who are expecting a baby any time. They're going to break her water on Tuesday if she doesn't have it before then, so we'll go down the weekend after that to see the baby if I'm feeling well enough. That weekend will be 5 days before my c-section!

This weekend is Jade's birthday party with her school friends, and then that weekend after in Albuquerque we're going to try to take her and her cousin Alan to Chucky Cheese for her annual birthday tradition with him!

I've made it to 36 weeks now so I won't be having a preemie in the NICU this time! They consider me "full term" now and are equipped to handle Lacey at this hospital should she be born now. My ultrasound Tuesday put her at about 5 pounds 4 ounces so far.

So glad to hear Lacey is doing so well, sounds like y'all have been busy-busy! Ellie and I went to the Women's Weekend celebration in Provincetown, MA on Sat, but mainly hung around Sun and Mon, which was WONDERFUL--we needed the time off just doing nothing.

This weekend is down to New Jersey for her niece's dance recital.

How far of a drive is that for you Plum? Together relaxing time is great! We did a lot of that this weekend, just at home, and it felt like an extra long weekend even though it wasn't, and the weekend before was a 4-day one! How weird.

Friday I took the girls to the horse stables and park, and a nice lady offered to let them both ride her horse, which was exciting because just the week before, Jade's teacher asked her for her birthday wish what she'd like to be able to do by the time she turns 9 in a year, and she said she wants to ride a horse for the first time.

And Saturday was Jade's school friend party, and only 4 girls showed up, so it was nice and small and easy.

But today my amniotic fluid levels are low, so I'm supposed to take it easy and rest more. Only 11 days and counting!

I hope the fluids are back up!

It's about 6 hours each way to NJ. The ride there Friday was easy, but we got stuck in traffic in NY on the way home...wound up being about an 8 hour ride.

Oh my goodness, I remember the traffic in NY when it took us 2 hours by taxi for a distance that should have been 10 minutes. Ridiculous! The subway coming back worked better.

6 hours from here would get me to about Denver, CO or Flagstaff, AZ. Dallas, TX is about 9 hours. Those are the closest big cities and everything's so spread out!

Jade's just taken off to a friend's house to go to the pool and then spend the night. Her first real sleepover! She's been complaining about being bored so much, and she wasn't looking forward to summer because she likes school. It's funny, she's more bored now knowing it's summer, although she was complaining about being bored on Saturday and Sunday, and it was no different than any other weekend!

HAHA! I was the same way as a kid--I didn't have a lot of friends, so summers were always SO boring, at least at school I didn't have to come up with my own distractions. Hope she had fun at her sleepover.

She loved her sleepover, but Jason thought she was clingier than usual to him when she got home. She's spent as much as 4 nights away at Grandma's in Albuquerque a few times, and she's going to do it again next weekend while I go in for my c-section Friday. Amber's never spent a single night away from us, but she's going to go for those 4 nights too, and I wonder how she'll do! When I think of how she often calls out "Maaaaaaaa!" or "Daaaaaaaa!" when she wants us, I think it may be really hard for her (and me!) but at least she'll be distracted with her cousins and I'll be distracted with recovering and being all groggy/tired.

I was thinking I'd have Monday-Thursday with them at home and Jade complaining that she's bored, and me having a hard time getting up and down and needing to rest, but actually it will only be Monday-Wednesday because Grandma is coming to fetch them Thursday morning before lunch. It's coming so quickly now!

Man, this IS all happening so quickly! I'm glad Grandma is taking over so you have enough time to recover. Amber will be out of sorts for a while, but she'll recover.

Today's my pre-op appointment where I can ask how they're going to go about controlling my blood sugar the day of surgery, since I don't think they're going to have me eat, but then I'll have low blood sugar, and Jason's going to come with me to this appointment so then he's off work after 2, which will make the rest of the afternoon/evening easier for me. Then tomorrow he has a work potluck/picnic which I can bring the girls to, and they have a park, so that will take up some time and be fun for them too. And then Thursday morning Grandma comes to get them! I've been so tired lately, I think I'm ready for this.

I'll bet you're ready!!! Glad to hear Jason will be around and that you can take the girls to the picnic--hopefully burn some energy.
