The day was hot, and slightly unpleasant, but Thona didn't want to stick around his pride at the moment. Having every cub growing, and being a bit older, he felt it was giving him a headache to take it all in for now. He'd get to them soon and make them learn their place, but for now to let them have a little fun before he beat the living daylights out of them. He lashed his long fat tail as he moved. Letting his bone accessories clink together.
His head dress feathers flapped in the wind every time it blew past his face. As well as the falling beads would smack the side of his face time to time. He got to the point that he never noticed cause he was too use to it. He loved his look now. It really showed he was king of a pride, if anyone even cared. Unless they hadn't a clue what a pride was.
No matter, he'd attack them weather they knew or not. Though, today he was in a bit of a good mood. Attacking someone was lower on his list of things to do this day if he ran into something. Unless of course it was a dog of some sort.

Giza'vermaak was in a very good mood, but that was nothing new. She had just finished her latest project, skinnning a gazelle alive. It hadn't survived, which was a little sad... She would have to remember not to get so carried away the next time she was torturing something. But some things were just so fragile... not like the boar she had caught the week before. Now that thing had some fight in it while she tied it up and tore off it's tusks!
Oh well... now she would just have to find something else to do, and she really wasn't in the mood for training. It got so boring and repetative, no matter what her father said about it. No fun to do with her sisters either, and without her brother around no one could really stand up to her... But whatever, they could go and screw themselves as far as Giza was concerned.
"Ah... no Doto around..." She talked to herself, sighing and shifting her shoulders back and forth. She'd have to wait until the pelt dried a bit before she made something fun out of it. She had even kept the gazelle's eyes as souveniers... but then, she always liked eyes. They were fun to roll around, and made interesting noises when one went about squishing them.
Why her mother called it "gross" was a little beyond her.

Thona hadn't tortured anything in a while. He normally stuck to torturing felines of any type. Though, sometimes it just wasn't as fun as killing something. Though adding both together was real fun in his eyes. Though, he hadn't done much of that since he started his pride. Too much to do, with little time. Torturing wasn't fun unless you had time to spare. Of course, he could easily make time if he really needed to, but his kids were so much fun to beat up that torturing slowly went out of his mind for now.
Though, today, what was on his mind was nothing really. Who ever ran into him he'd decide how he'd act right then. Weather his true self, or another one of his acting characters to fool others. Thona could smell someone close by. From the smell of things, it was a lion, or at least half lion. He'd grown use to that smell, and could tell a lion from miles away.

Giza rolled the eyes back and forth in her paws. She really wished she could think of some way to store them so that they wouldn't rot away... she had always been a fan of being able to look at things she cut off. She was sticking with pelts and bones for now, but none were as pretty as eyes were. So lame, as far as the teenage lion was concerned. All the best parts stopped being pretty eventually. Unless you let your prey live on... like walking art. She had always been a fan on the concept.
Then she smelt something... something new and different. Giza had never seen a leopard before, though her father had described them to her. It took her a moment or two to put together what the creature in front of her was... he was bright. She was used to black lions, this creature was something else altogether. Giza grinned a little, tilting her head to the side. And how very interesting he looked... she wondered if his horns were attached.
"Aren't you something..." She mumbled under her breath as she looked at him, tilting her head in the other direction and standing up. Yes, a leopard. She was sure he was a leopard. How fun! And she had thought adult boars looked cool, this guy was something different entirely. A predator. Maybe a merc? Her dad warned her about those kinds of creatures... but she had learned from her father's example. Caution was for wusses.

Thona eyed the lioness, who was now clear in his path. She was black, and was playing with something. To him, they looked like eyes, but he could be wrong. Soon as he got closer, she noticed him quickly. No matter. He saw her lips move, but didn't hear what she said. Which was the least in his mind. He didn't care what other's thought of him. Except when they feared him, it was the best feeling to be feared by another.
He stopped moving as soon as she did notice him. He wasn't afraid of the young female, He could easily over power her if he wanted. She looked small to him, telling him that she wasn't quite an adult yet. Or maybe she was just small all together. No matter. Her dark black fur made her less attractive to him. With bits of white here and there on her. He frowned a bit, slightly disappointed that she wasn't something a bit more pretty. No matter, a female was a female. If he could seduce them, it was worth it, no?
He waited for her to say something directly to him before deciding who he'd play this time. His peridot green eyes watched her every move as he waited for a moment or two.

Giza smiled, standing up and squishing the eyes between her toes as she walked towards him, completely unafraid. After all, her father was about twice the size of a normal lion. She had inherited his size, and was almost as large as an adult lionesss even though she was still a teenager. She was glad for that... because she would have hated for the rest of her family to insult her size. She already lacked the 'mystical eyes' the rest of them had. Not that she really cared. At least she could move around when the sun was up.
"You're a leopard, right?" She asked when she got closer, her wild grin nevr faultering. Though it never did. Her father said it was part of her wicked sense of humor. "So bright... how do you not get killed with all those colors?" She asked him, tilting her head as she approached. He was so odd looking! She would have to ask if the horns were real as well. Or maybe he had torn them off some dead creature. She did stuff like that all the time.
She paused when she came close enough. Not from fear, but rather so she could get a good look at him. He didn't look like any of the enemies her father had described. That was good. She would have hated to have to 'kill' something when she would rather find out what it was. Well, she hated to kill anything actually. What fun was that? Much more interesting to see how much you could do to them... and how much they could survive. Everything reacted differently to different torture. She knew. She did it a lot.

Thona looked at her like she was some type of retarded disgusting creature. Had she really had the nerve to come and ask him a stupid question like that. Well, he knew how he was going to be now. He couldn't help but hate stupidity. He lashed his long fat tail, letting the bones hit each other giving off a rather pleasant noise. "A bit of a stupid question, if you already know the answer." He spoke with a tiny snarl to his words.
"My colors are less seen then your's. You stand out more then a mountain." He spat out. He could easily hide, though he never did. No reason to. He could handle anyone who tried to attack him. His muscles weren't anything small. The only odd thing about him was his bright green hair. Other then that, he was pretty normal for a leopard.
Curious, this female. Having come towards him with nothing to fear. She seemed a bit too happy, for any liking Thona had. Everything about her seemed to annoy him in one way or another. But that wasn't anything new. Lots of things annoyed him. He just watched her, wondering what she would do or say more then anything. He liked to just wait for his chance to strike.

Giza grinned at him, but there was nothing friendly in her smile. She had obviously noticed the maliciousness in his voice. He reminded her a bit of her father... though, with her father, you never saw him coming before he promtly leapt onto your back and ripped out your spine. Part of his charm. Was the leopard stupid, or over-confident? Hard to tell, she didn't know much about the species, or about him. But she had always found you didn't know much about a person until you had cut into their flesh to see what made them tick...
"Oh, maybe in daylight... I like the night better though." She admitted, though staying in all day did bore her so. You met such interesting creatures in daylight. But going out at night was fun. Dragging a creature from it's peaceful sleep in screams before you held it down and cut it open... "But still. Better to go out and do whatever you like, whenever you like, don't you think? I'm just not afraid of the dark." Or anything.
Well, perhaps pain, because Giza had never liked recieving pain as much as she had liked dishing it out. Every now and then, a victim would get away... run too fast... hit too hard, and they'd manage to scrape her. Never enough to give her a scar, but little cuts and bruises were so annoying. "What about you? Afraid of anything hiding out there in the shadows?" She asked, positively purring. Doto was better at this though. Talking, inspiring fear. She was more of a doer, not a talker.
Though she had no real intention of hurting the leopard. Not yet anyway. Giza's moods tended to change with the wind though. Calm and happy to talk one minute, ready to hold somoene down and gouge out their eyes the next.

Thona enjoyed both. He had learned to take pain and turn it into something other then what it was. It took a while, and many fights to do so, but now it didn't matter if he got scratched or not. He had scars, they just weren't very visible with his thick fur. She asked him if he was afraid of dark, or anything in general. He was afraid of losing Nande, but he'd never admit that, not even to himself. "That words isn't even in my vocabulary." He said without any hesitation. He was sure she was afraid of the dark, or at least she would be if running into his pride. But that was his ego talking again.
If he didn't already have a pride full of females, he'd probably consider inviting her. But he wasn't sure. He figured she'd never be able to follow anyone's lead, let alone his own. He lashed his tail, as he watched her. So she had noticed his slight hostile behavior. Most either ignored it, or didn't even realize.
He was ready for anything she tried on him, he wasn't going to attack first. He never did. Going first always seemed to make one more open for the others attack. No, Thona knew better to wait until the perfect moment. If she was to attack him, he'd simply let it happen, then take his turn. Unless of course, she was weak and stupid, then he'd have no problem going first. It seemed she might know a thing or two about fighting though. Maybe. Thona had to wait and see.

Giza giggled, obviously thrilled with his answer. "Good to know. So many are afraid of the things they can't see... but that makes it more fun. Even more fun when they think they aren't afraid, but find something that terrifies them." She offered, as her version of polite conversation. Oh, she had noticed his hostility under his attitude. She had always been a keen observer, used to finding her way in the dark. She had seen his muscles and the way he moved.
She knew a fighter when she saw one. More or less fun if she decided to attack him? Much less if he turned out to be good and she had to call her family to help her. And she did enjoy seeing her father and aunt ripping enemies to shreds in a matter of second... but to save her? No. That would be too much like weakness, and she hadn't had any time to observe this leopard to know if he was a good target. Not a mercenary, she didn't think. They wouldn't send just one leopard after her father. No point then. But he did make an interesting conversation piece.
"You know what I like best though?" She grinned, getting even closer. Very bold as always, with a sadistic glint in her eye that her father claimed few could match. "I like creatures who say you can try and do whatever you like to them. That they have nothing to lose. Because you know the truth about them? The people who say they have nothing you could take away? If they have nothing to take, then they have EVERYTHING to lose, because it's all right there in front of you. Everything you can hurt them with in one neat little package. I've always liked that." And she had. Creatures with nothing to lose always had the most to give up.

"I'm one of the things they should be afraid of." Thona spoke with no emotion to his voice. Thona didn't think, he knew he wasn't afraid of the dark. Or anything... as long as Nan was safe. Which she was more then safe, so he wasn't afraid of anything for the moment. Thona wasn't one to get into a fight with more then one creature, if he saw more coming, he'd easily back down and flee. Even if he didn't want to. His ego was big, and it'd only chip a small part of it from fleeing a fight that was over matched for him. Which was another reason why he never attacked first. He wanted to test their strength.
He tensed as she moved closer to him. Ready for her to pounce at him, he wasn't going to let his guard down. Not when he didn't know her. "I rather take everything away from them before torturing them. So, it's more fun finding someone who thinks life is the best, and ripping it from them. Then slowly killing them, so they can think about how great life is." That was a small bit of honestly for him. So he wasn't going to lie this meeting, it seemed. Some how he felt like he had to match her up, or better her in her twisted sense of fun.

"Me too." Giza grinned, flexing her claws, but mostly just because she loved to watch him tense up. It was so funny! He really thought she might attack him. And that was still up in the air, but she didn't really see the point. He was a kindered spirit, like her and her father as far as she could tell. And maybe her father would have attacked him to even the score... see who was better. But that was a fight she'd rather watch than participate in. Too much action. She liked her victims to be easy to catch... and hard to break.
She tilted her head, staying close, inside his personel bubble, if she could. "Maybe... but don't you think that's too easy? Someone with so much to lose... well, I suppose there could be some fun in that." She giggled, images racing to her brain, "Show them the bodies of their children... their family... their beloved mate, perhaps? Someone they think they can't live without..." She laughed, a light-hearted... sadistic noise. "Maybe. I can see how they would be easy pickings to break right from the start... but showing someone who thinks they have nothing that the still have everything to lose, I like that... I like that a lot."

He didn't care much about her flexing of her claws. That was nothing really. It was the other motions and aura that she put off that made him tense. He eyed her for a moment. "A broken toy is no fun to break again. Breaking a new and untouched one slowly is more satisfying." He simply said. "You can find anyone and show them they have something to live for even if they say they don't. But taking something from someone who thinks they are invincible, now.... That's real power." He spoke with a slight grin.

"Oh...I think you're wrong about that. I've compared... taken notes. Idiots who think they're invulnerable... they break at the first sign of weakness in themselves. The first second they see their doom. Someone who's already lost so much... They hold out when they realize they aren't ready to die yet." Giza giggled, breaking off eye contact with him and prancing back towards her crushed-eyeballs. "But who knows? Maybe I should give someone who thinks they're invincible another go... Take everything they have... kill everyone they love... torture them until they don't think they can bear to live... And then leave them, alive to suffer forever... That, I must admit, I think I'd enjoy." She smiled very pointedly at him, "One day... I'll have to find the perfect subject for that."

Thona let out a soft growl, he hated when others told him he was wrong when he knew he wasn't. Stupid childish female didn't know s**t about anything. He lashed his tail. "You can speak for yourself." He spat at her. If she had actually done what he had then she'd know which was better. Or she was just stupid. Breaking something that was already broken was useless and a waste of time. Sure they'd scream and beg for their life, but everything did. It just felt better when you ripped everything they had right from under them.... nice and slow.
