((AIM RP Between Felyn and Kimaria))

For once she wasn't wandering off. For once she wasn't thinking about how she could wind up her mother. The irritation of the morning had all faded into the background now, along with her two brothers who had been practising their training non-stop since the sun had risen. She had watched them for a time, lying next to her mother, not really talking much but enjoying the company anyway. And then the fussing had started and she'd been forced to move on.

She loved her mother but did she really have to be so clingy all the time?

With a sigh, she shook the dust from her fur, set the golden bangles neatly around her and headed off to find water and laze around in the peace and quiet of the afternoon.

Perhaps someone would want their fortune told. Or maybe a male would like to steal her attention for an hour or so. She smiled at that thought and thought of that Suijin from a few weeks prior. He had been an interesting male indeed. She wondered where he was now and whether he'd lost those fights she'd seen in her vision, yet.

It was rare that he got a moment alone, Ihkti knew that and he never took it for granted. His cubhood had been spent training for all manners of situations, for all different things. His mother had put the greatest emphasis on his seer abilities, but given that he was also a male in the oldest litter of her cause, he was also trained in the ways of a soldier. He might not have been as adept in the ways as his brother, whose seer abilities were not so strong as his own, but he had never gotten a break until his mother deemed him a master in both.

Now he lay stretched out, taking what little time he had found to catch a rest, his head stretched over his paws as his eyes narrowed on the horizon. He knew it would be any day now, any day that his mother decided they were to move out and begin what she had been training them for their entire lives. Even with her young litter in tow, and her constant pressure on him to find a mate and provide her with more 'soldiers', he knew she was ready to begin their battles.

And the gods help him, so was he. His dreams danced with visions of criminals, of the scum of the savannah, and he felt no other urge than to plunge his teeth straight into-

His thoughts abruptly stopped as he heard a sound, his head rising and ears swivelling as he turned to see what it was. This close to home, it couldn't be anyone but his family, but his instincts and driven-in lessons told him to still be wary. "Ary?" he called out, as he heard the clink of bangles and the flash of colors.

The young fortune-teller looked up, her bright eyes finding them drawn to the male close by. Ihkti. A smile curved her maw and she altered her course, directing herself towards him instead of towards the watering hole.

The sun kissed her grey shoulders as she leant down to greet him, a purr in her words. "Resting for a change, I see?" Everyonie in their family was always so busy. Training. Hunting. Going on with their daily lives. It was an exhausting life but she wouldn't change it for the world.

"How goes your training? I expect your mother is pleased with you, isn't she?" She sat and waited for his response. "We've all come a long way from the little helpless cubs we once were. It seems so long ago, now, doesn't it?"

"Resting, during the little time that mother isn't breathing down my neck, yes," he offered a faint smile, though for a male so young it was strange to note that his mirth was quite minimal. A hard life of training could wear the laughter out of anyone. "Not that I don't love her, or our cause, but rest is kind of an essential need. At least if you don't want to die of exhaustion." The small joke brought his smile a little wider, as he was pleased with himself, before he let it fade once more.

"Training is as training always is. Hard, tiresome, but worth it in the end no matter that mother doesn't really praise us for it. Our skills are praise enough, I suppose." He shrugged his shoulders and let a large yawn crack his jaws. "We've all come.. very far. It'll be interesting to be the ones doing the majority of the training now, don't you think? My little siblings will need to start a lot of their training soon, and I know mom is looking forward to being able to have more of us to do it."

"I expect she's tired, too." Aryiola gave as some sort of make up for the fact that it seemed his mother was quite different from her own. Now she felt almost guilty that she wasn't at all grateful for all the love and adoration her mother poured her way.

"Dying of exhaustion?" She huffed. "Not likely."

Her head canted. "Our family grows bigger, still. Perhaps I should find Mother to find new love so she can divert her attention from me." She sighed and shook her head. The golden bangles rang merrily. "But me? See, I train my mind, my seer-powers. What use is a girl in a fight against men? I don't mean to put down my own gender but really, I could train all I wanted but could never hope to beat someone like you, now, could I?" She smiled. "No, I'll train my own power and that's exhausting enough as it is. I feel sorry for you, actually, having to focus on both instead of one or the other."

"Oh, no doubt she's tired," he said with a little frown, a momentary glimpse of concern lighting his features. "She struggles day in and day out to keep all of us together, train us all, and we haven't even really started fighting for the cause." He couldn't imagine the weight on her shoulders. If anyone could die of exhaustion, he figured she could.

"Her attentions are truly not so bad, Ary," he said with a gentle chuckle. "But you're right, it'd be nice if she had something to focus her attention on, to let you and your siblings focus on this." He glanced off at the horizon, a grim frown on his face. "Your mother is a lover, not a fighter."

"Well," he shrugged at her words, "our strength lies mostly in numbers. Even though your seer abilities, you could have been a good soldier, in mass." He shrugged and glanced back at her. "But you're right, one or the other is probably the better route."

She nodded slowly, thinking about the burden that his mother had to bear. She liked not having much responsibility - other than training and hunting. It was enough for her. She couldn't imagine having so many other jobs on top of those. When would she get time to have any fun!?

"Mother is definately not a fighter." She gave a short laugh. "If it were not for the fact that they look so alike I would doubt they were even related, your mother and mine. They're beliefs and ideals are so different. How do they end up not fighting? It's hard enough getting on with people of similar minds, let alone different ones."

She shrugged then. "I'll fight when the time comes. I won't just stand aside and watch." She chuckled then. "Perhaps I should put more effort into my fighting than I have been. I at least want to be able to hold my own until help comes. There's no way I want to be crushed in an instant."

"You're right," he said with a small smirk, "they are very different. You'd think with how much they look alike, they'd be more alike in personality." He simply shrugged though and shook his head. "I think your mother just loves mine, very much. It's a strong thing, love, mother has always said so." He also suspected, strongly, that his mother had always been a little manipulative of her little sister - but he assumed it was all for her good. Something about his aunt Ainra made him think she probably wouldn't be very good at taking care of herself.

"Well, when you want to start learning, you know who can teach you." He offered his cousin a pleased smile, nodding his head at her. "I don't think any of us would be crushed in an instant, and if anything, you'd see it coming wouldn't you?" He shook his head and looked out at the horizon. "No, I think you could hold your own just fine. It's not just strength and physical skill that keeps a lion alive."

She nodded. "Mother has a lot of love to give. I'm glad, though. It's nice having family you're close to. I wouldn't have it any other way, even if they do drive me mad sometimes." She purred and leaned forwards to buffett her head against his shoulder.

"Of course I do. And I do want to. Just the basics, at least. I can be pretty and dangerous. Wouldn't that be a wonderful mix?" She smiled and stood, turning her eyes to look at him. "I should hope I would see it." She replied. "And my powers are easier to control now, I have to admit. I've been practising a lot." She smiled as she thought of her latest 'guinea pig'. Yes, she did love fortune telling.

"I'm glad you have faith in me, Ihkti." She purred. "And with all of us together, there's no way any of us could fall."

"It's great to have family, yes, even if you feel a little smothered sometimes," he said with a small smile, turning to look at her as she leaned into him.

"I think the most dangerous females of all are the beautiful ones," he couldn't help but laugh at this, shaking his head as she stood, though he turned to look at her. "You could be the most dangerous I've ever seen, no doubt, Ary."

At her words, he turned to look back at the horizon. "I'm sure, with everyone sticking together, we'll never fall."

"Yes." She agreed with a sigh, thinking of her mother again. Both sweet and insufferable at the same time. "The danger comes when the female realises she's beautiful. Realises she can use it to manipulate others." She smiled, laughing quietly. "I wouldn't say my markings were the most beautiful, but being a seer always does add that touch of mystery, don't you think?"

She fell quiet, letting her own gaze drag out towards the horizon. The clouds there hung as dark, shapeless forms against the sky.

"Then we'll all stick together. Forever. It would not do good to be a failure." She stood then and let her eyes flicker back towards where her family would be waiting. "Mother will come looking for me soon. I'd best head back before she starts her worrying again." She drew her eyes back to him. "Enjoy the rest of your evening."

"I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Ary," he said with a smirk, "but no doubt you have qualities that make you more interesting than a simple first glance." He knew a few females he wouldn't want to tango with, should he be a random rogue. Ary and his mother were two of them, certainly.

"Forever, then," he echoed quietly, staring off at the horizon, watching the clouds as they drifted lazily. He saw the imagined shapes lingering there, the ominous signs, all of it. "You too," he murmured, turning back to look at her as she stepped away, only for a moment, before settling back into his comfortable silence.

She took a few steps and paused to glance back at him, lost in thought, lost in that horizon. It struck her how different they all were. All related but none of them the same. Not in any way. Even if some of them looked alike, they could never be mistaken.

Blinking, she turned away and headed towards the sound of her brothers speaking and her mother, cooing over them as usual.

For once her dissapearance had gone unnoticed.
