Zuri dipped her paw into the water, having been near it she seemed to pause and stand up. Her tail flickered. "I wonder what's under there..." She faked a tug on her paw.

She was curious about something. And then looked over to the male before dipping her head closer to the surface of the water giving a false tug again.

As Zuri approached the watering hole again, Kutunza was reminded that his throat had become slightly parched during their conversation. Making his way to her side, he knelt down to lap at the water. Before he had the opportunity, however, she caught his attention by having her paw be tugged into the water. Looking curiously over towards her paw, he cocked his brow. "What is it? I don't see anything.." Kutunza took a small step back when her paw was tugged again, "Be careful. Maybe we should look for a different watering hole!" Kutunza wasn't exactly afraid, but he heard stories of crocodiles and other aquatic animals easily taking down lions their same size. He wouldn't want to lose his newest friend to a horrible mishap like that.

She shook her head. "I don't know~" She moved her head and suddenly splashed him with a chuckle. "Opps!" She waited a second to see what he'd do her tail flickering with a grin on her maw.

Kutunza, being the gullible male he was, fully believed that something was lurking beneath the water. When he realised that it hadn't actually hurt his friend, he crept forward once again and knelt low to check out the water again. Though the water was murky he expected to see the form of something. Squinting to get a better look, the male was surprised when a splash of water suddenly hit him. Bolting upright, the male looked to Zuri with narrowed eyes. "Oh! I see now!" He let out a playful growl and leaned down towards the water to try and splash his new friend in return.

When it seemed he couldn't really get as big a splash as he'd like, Kutunza decided to resort to alternate tactics. Lowering his haunches, the male waved his tail about behind him. Pouncing forward, he attempted to tackle the female. If she wanted to challenge him, he was ready!

She squeaked and laughed taking off, "You have to catch me before you can pounce me!" She ran around the water hole sticking out her tonuge. She stopped suddenly about halfway around and giggled going into a fake fight pose.

Kutunza was a bit disappointed that he hadn't caught her! When he hit the ground with a thud, he bounced right back up, filled with cub-like enthusiasm. He hadn't played like this since he was much younger and even then he usually only played with his neices and nephews. It was a breath of fresh air to meet someone he was comfortable enough with to treat like family. Someone who didn't already know about all the trouble at home. Someone he could relax with.

Not long after she darted off around the watering hole, he followed after, grin on his maw. "I don't mind catching you!" He called out, showing off that he was confident he'd be the one to catch her. When she stuck out his tongue, he let out another playful growl. When she stopped suddenly, Kutunza had to skid to a halt, almost bumping into her. Instead of returning the pose and starting a mock fight between the two, Kutunza simply jumped forward to tackle her.

Zuri let herself be tackled this time however she still pawed at him and attemped to playfull knock him off.

She grinned not using claws she looked over to the water that was near them. "Hum.... I think you better watch out~ We might end up being the thing in that water.~"

She was still play fighting before thinking, "Oh," She said in mid battle, "What did you have on your mind earlier?" Her tail flickered, As she gave a randomly soft n** at his nose avoiding actually getting it.

Once Kutunza tackled Zuri, the pair rolled for a bit, nearing the watering hole. As Zuri pawed playfully up at him, Kutunza dodged her paws. He was careful with everything he did, not wanting to accidently hurt her during their play fighting. Zuri was older than Kutunza, but the male was larger in frame and growing bulkier. A benefit of the pridelands was the surplus of food and shelter. When she commented on watching out from the water, Kutunza grinned. Now was the perfect opportunity to get her back for splashing him! With a flick of his tail, the male slid down towards the watering hole, still holding onto Zuri. If he fell in, she was coming with him!

The two fell into the watering hole with a splash. Although it might have looked deep from where they were outside the water, the water only came up to their chests once they were sitting. Kutunza laughed and pawed at Zuri, feeling confident that he won their battle. The water was warmed from the sun, but it felt nice against their sweating forms.

Kutunza was about ready to continue their fight when Zuri asked him a question that caught him off guard. Before he was able to ask, the female nipped at his nose softly, causing him to blush. "What was I thinking about?" he asked again, trying to clarify her question. "Do you mean.. before we met? Or during our conversation earlier?"

She looked at him, "Well both really. You seemed, concerned. "She was sitting in the water and shook her head to dry it a bit before she looked at him chuckling. "You look like a drowned Kangaroo rat." She chuckled before regaining her composure and tilting her head curious of his answer.

As Kutunza was aging, his mane was beginning to fill out and get longer. In the water, the black hair hung in front of his face and chest. With a shake of his head, he sent water flying and cleared the hair from his vision. The comment about him looking like a drowned kangaroo rat caused him to chuckle and he swatted at her playfully. He couldn't think of anything to say about her. Even covered in water, she looked great!

Before he could continue their game, Zuri asked him what he was thinking. He wondered why she suddenly changed the subject, but figured she probably just wanted to hear more from him. He felt as though he learned a lot about her earlier. Kutunza had enjoyed how free the female made him feel and how away he was from his family. What was bothering him earlier was no longer bothering him.

Because she asked, however, he thought it wouldn't hurt to explain. "I come from a litter of two. It was just me and my sister, Kafara. We have always been incredibly close, but lately I feel like there is a gap between us. I was looking for her this morning when I found you."

Zuri humed for a second before paddling around even though the water wasn't deep. "Hum, I guess if me and my brother were closer we'd be like you and her." She chuckled and shurged. "Oh well every family can't be prefect, atleast with sibblings anyways." She sighed before splashing him again.

Kutunza was amused at how Zuri still tried to swim in the shallow pool, even though it barely had enough room for the two of them. He would have paddled after her, but she hit a very sensitive subject for him. It was strange to hear that his new friend also came from a very small litter of two with only one male and one female. It was yet another thing the pair had in common with one another. When she commented that every family couldn't be perfect, he felt a light rumble in his throat. He hadn't meant to growl at her, but she seemed to dismiss the issue that it wasn't important.

Avoiding the splash, Kutunza climbed out of the watering hole. He wasn't even sure of what to say at this point. Things had been going so well and suddenly they just weren't. He had tried to open up and suddenly what he said wasn't important. With an uncomfortable expression, Kutunza shook the water from his fur. "Hrm.. yea.." He said quietly, unable to hide his discomfort.

Zuri looked at him she sighed softly before heading back to shore and shaking off. "Sorry.." She said sense she hit a sensative note. "I didn't mean that the way it sounded."

Her tail flickered as she sat down. "I ment it more to sound like I was wishing myself and my brother were closer." She triped over her words a bit and winced as she did.

Kutunza nodded as she apologised. He appreciated that she cared he was upset, but now his thought was back on Kafara. Where had she been? Why hadn't she been around like she usually was? He didn't usually like to bother his mother for fear of worrying her, but perhaps it was time he presented his concern?

Shaking off the remainder of water from his fur, Kutunza raised a paw to flatten his growing mane and made a gesture as though it was about time he headed back into the pridelands. "No, no, it's fine. I guess I just forgot what I had come out here for. It's probably about time I continue my search." He frowned as Zuri winced at what she was saying. It was clear that she hadn't meant to offend him. Before heading off, the male stepped over towards her side and offered a friendly nuzzle. "It was really nice meeting you, Zuri. I really wish you the best in your search... and if you come back, please search me out. I'll be here."

Zuri returned the nuzzle, then with a nod. "Sorry again..." Her tail flickered as she paused, looking off towards the rouge lands. "Before I go...." She paused, "If I decide to go, mind if I say goodbye?" Her tail flickered. "Atleast that way you'll know and; not that anyone likely would; if someone was looking for me you could tell them."

She tried to smile though still slightly worried about having hit that nerve.

Kutunza's ears folded when Zuri apologised again. He couldn't be upset with her when she didn't understand the home life that he had grown up with. When she returned the nuzzle he felt his heart beat a bit more quickly in his chest. It surprised him how he had such a reaction to her presense. Although he only met her that day he already felt like she was a part of the family. So caught up in finding his sister, it almost didn't fully sink in that she was actually leaving. Here he was developing such an attachment to a stranger and now she was going to leave. And partly because he encouraged her!

Keeping his ears flattened on the top of his head, Kutunza listened carefully to what she had to say. He hoped she'd come back to the pridelands, if only to share news of her adventures. He felt as though hers was a story only half finished and he wanted to know if it ended on a good or bad note.

"Of course I don't mind if you say goodbye.." he said quietly. He wasn't actually very good at goodbyes, but he understood wanting to bid farewell before leaving. Once they had finished their conversation, Kutunza smiled and began in the direction he had come from.

She grinned, "I'll see you around later then." She nodded, she'd seen his ears pinne down as she headed off towards a small glade she knew of to spend the rest of the day she was thinking about it. Suddenly she called back, "Oh hey and don't think about it as saying goodbye. Think about as saying we'll meet again in a few weather changes." She grinned again. "Good luck finding your sister~!"
