The theory was that it would help her dancing. Kaimi already had excellent balance and rythm, but she figured there was always room for improvement. Add that to the things she'd been watching on television lately and, well, disco night at the roller rink sounded like the place to be.
She was dressed for the part in safety orange short-shorts and a vividly lime colored tank-top. Add that to the fact that her roller skates bore multicolored spots on them and she fit right in. Kaimi stood shakily on her skates, looking out at the rink where experienced skaters sped around the rink and less experienced skaters clung to the wall. Her eyes roamed the dark interior of the roller rink seeking out Bishop, who had promised to meet her there. Kaimi had been missing her friend and with everything that life had thrown at her she desperately wanted to see the owl-girl.

Ranking among the less experienced of the skaters Bishop was one of many who clung to the wall surrounding the rink. Though her owl like eyes have her superior vision in the darkness of the place it did nothing for her balance or general feeling of security on the unstable wheeled things strapped to her feet. Perhaps meeting Kaimi here had been a bad idea. She had wanted to show off how grown up she was now , not look like a silly little kid.

There! Kaimi spotted her friend and let out an excited squeal. Hesitantly she made her way onto the wooden floor where the skaters surface and attempted to glide gracefully towards Bishop. Instead she managed to clunk clumsily towards the other girl without falling. "Bishop!" Kaimi shouted above the din. "Hey! You grew!" She exclaimed when she got close enough to really get a good look at her friend. Bishop had mentioned the growth over the phone but it hadn't really sunk in until just now. "You look great!"

Bishop held back a giggle as Kaimi approached her, the other girl hadn't fallen like she had earlier but she wasn't too steady on the roller skates either which made the orange haired girl feel a bit better. Kaimi's words also helped to bolster her spirits, she might still me smaller than the dark haired girl but she was slowly catching up and they'd be able to do fun things together again which was important to bishop. She'd really really hated not being old enough to go fun places with Kaimi.
" You look awesome and bright like a." what were those weird drinks " margarita" The words were ment to be a compliment really. " Ok and Check, is growing too though mostly just getting fatter." The gryphkit a present from Kaimi had been much loved and spoiled from bishop when it had finally hatched from it's sprout.

"We should get him and Kanunu together for a playdate sometime." Kaimi grinned at the thought of her own lofty gryphkit trying to play. Kanunu thought he was better than all of her other pets. She looked her friend up and down now that she was close enough to get a really good look and grinned in approval. Kaimi had not gotten much taller when she had grown, and Bishop was nice and leggy. "Here." Reaching out, Kaimi grabbed her friend's hand. "Maybe we can keep each other steady if we hold hands."

Bishop grinned and nodded, tucking her headwings to her head, they did absolutely nothing for her balance right now and would only end up tickling Kaimi. Holding tight to the older girl Bishop stepped away from the wall trying to think brave to imagine herself as someone not afriad of falling." play dates for all, then none of us will get fat" not that either girl was really in danger of such a thing happening to them

Squeezing her friend's hand, Kaimi tried to glide smoothly like the more experienced skaters were doing. Images flashed in her mind of her and Bishop, a famed roller-disco-dancing duo renowned throughout the land for their amazing skills. She grinned, her imagination hadn't felt this awake in a long time. "We should be famous." She informed Bishop, right before her feet lost control and she fell, dragging the other girl down with her.

Bishop had been about to reply , to add that they needed to be rich and famous, becuase the girl was getting a bit more material as she aged when Kaimi fell and she went tumbling down after her. "Oof" Kaimi had provided a sort of soft landing but it was enough to nearly knock the wind out of Bishop regardless. Still she giggled and looked at her friend as others skated around them. " Maybe we should stick to the walls?" Or the concession stand where there were tables and chairs for sitting.

Almost as if she were reading her friend's mind, Kaimi suggested the concession stand instead. "I'm thirsty. Lets go sit down for a little bit and get a snack, my treat!" She grinned at Bishop. "Man, I've missed you!" She added impulsively, hugging the other girl fiercely.

Bishop laughed and hugged back before finding her way back onto her feet, it wasn't exactly graceful but at least she hadn't fallen over again. " Missed you too, now that I'm bigger we can hang out way more and do stuff? Plus she could earn more money doing chores which meant she could pay for things then they went out as well.

Nodding in agreement, Kaimi led the way over to the concession counter and ordered a couple of drinks and a funnel cake for them to share. Taking the booty over to a nearby table, she sat down and sighed then looked expectantly at Bishop. "So. Tell me what you've been doing lately."

" Not much" Bishop admitted " Mostly just going to school and helping mom in the store." She'd been too small to enjoy much else life had to offer as her mind grew but her body didn't " an now Andrea's being miserable and Rook's sick."

"That sucks." Kaimi said. "My sister is a brat, as always." She grinned a little when she said it, though. Despite Mara's attitude problem Kaimi still loved her a great deal. "I learned a little magic." She added quickly, whispering it under her breath.

Bishop's amber eyes widened " Really, what kind? Does it have to do with what you wouldn't tell me at valentines?" The girl was still rather curious about that, whatever had unnerved her best friend then had been eating at the back of her mind for a while. The feathers on her headwings ruffling a little at the thought of Kaimi upset.

A shadow crossed Kaimi's features, but was gone as quickly as it came and she shook her head. "Not exactly." The girl looked around until she spotted a nearby potted plant. It was weak and straggly from being in such a loud, lightless environment. Walking over to it, Kaimi touched it and closed her eyes. When she removed her hand there was a little white flower blooming on the plant. She grinned at Bishop. "See?" The girl was barely able to contain her excitement.
