After finding a pin that nade me actually squee at how badass it was, I had to make this. I'm going to review each battle Pin that I can. I'll try to explain why I like some more than others but I can be a little confusing. So after my long explanations I'll probably give a summary. So that you can get an idea of what I look for, I'll do the starter pins first.

Outside of boss battles, this pin is your best friend as far as doing quick and heavy damage. You can scratch the objects across an enemy to do it quicker too! Unfortunatly, it's not very helpful because, like I said, it is a waste of time in actual boss fights because there aren't any objects. Oh well, it's still fun.

This was the first pin that gave me trouble. When I was starting out I had no idea how the hell it worked. But once I did..... let's just say my pin deck isn't complete without a Shockwave psych. It's a little on the weak side, but an upgrade courtesy of Jupiter of the Monkey is soon available. Also, flyers can be hit with it if you're positioned right.

I'm not going to lie, this was my favorite pin in the begining. I could scratch and make fire! It was simple and very enjoyable to use. Unfortunatly, it's damage level makes it almost useless in anything past Day 2. However, pair it with the slow recharging User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show., you can take some Noise down immediatley. Which, I love pairing them in the same set, but by the time you can use three pins they're outclassed already. Very sad. Oh well.

This is, hands down, my most favorite psych to use. In fact I almost didn't replace the pin when I got a new one that was stronger just because of how awesome it was. Tap the screen to fire energy bullets in that direction? Woohoo! Give Pyrokinesis or Thunderbolt the second slot and you'll be a monster! Honestly, this psych just keeps getting better and better.

Touch the pin to recover HP. Boooooring. I only ever had it in my set to master it. I suppose not having a healing pin is a bad idea, but I've gotten through almost all of Week 2 that way. Do the math.
Hmm, so now you know. Although that's still kinda vague. My next will be better because I'm skipping ahead a bit. I'll probably skip around quite a bit.

Okay, I'm going to start with the first real pin I got. That's right, pin 001, Ice Blow!
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Now first of all look at the design. I have to say, I like how D+B makes their things. I won't use them a lot, but still.
Anyway, this pin has an attack of 27. That's stronger than the starter pins and it's noticable. Even if you don't look at the numbers, the sight of a giant freaking stalagmite if ice is enough to give away its power. It has knockback too, which means you can pair it up nicely with Shockwave for a combo. Or with Pyrokinesis because as good as that psych is it doesn't knock back. And the whole irony of fire and ice. But where this pin's true power lies is in its evolution by SDPP.

Pin 002, Ice Risers
If this pin was a human I would make love to it. Only half joking. It's easily gotten early on and it is a completely different calibur of pin. It shoots three giant pillars up and they all do knockback. It's relatively fast and recharges a bit longer than others, but it makes up for that with its awesomeness. It has an attack of 43, and that's for each individual strike. No dividing the damage out or anything, each strike hits hard. Not only that, with just one other D+B pin, this baby can send that brand straight to the top. Depending of course on what clothes you got. The only problem you may run into is that it tends to activate by accident if you have to do a slash mevement like with the Energy Rounds. So just make sure to use it before them. I'm pretty sure I'll keep this pin long after it gets outclassed for, as Sho says, its beauty. And it's quite good in Slammer as well. For me at least. These two are great for Pigs as well. At least, against the ones that don't specifically require a certain pin to hurt them. Until I see just how good they are, Frozen Cool and Blizzard Cool are just wannabe Ice Risers. It completely owns Week 1 and 2, and I plan to go through most of Week 3 with it until I get something better, as if that could happen. F this pin. F this pin to the moon.

Pin 062, Burning Cherry
This one caught me by surprise. After Lightning Moon, I was reluctant to try anything from Mus Rattus. But I was glad that I gave this one a chance. You slash across Neku to point a flaming orb in the direction you want it to go, and you can do it five times. Unlike Force Rounds, which I still prefer, these orbs don't just hit, they bounce around onscreen against the sides of the screen. And you can move Neku to change the screen's boundaries and do a little extra damage if you're clever. It's just unfortunate that the game doesn't let this pin become anything as good as other projectile pins. I mean, there's not much difference between Burning Cherry, Burning Melon, and Burning Berry except for a slight attack boost. I guess the good part is that you enjoy it until you get a good Force or Energy Rounds and then abandon this one for good. Oh well. I guess there's always Fox if you don't mind giving up an Angel class pin slot.

Pin 081, Masamune
Well, this isn't the sort of thing you'd expect from a pin named Masamune. But it's one of the first real pins you get. I say real because those starter pins don't really matter. Except against that Pig Carol that wants you to kill it using only User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.. But that Pig sucks. Seriously. W2D2 in Molco if you're wondering what I mean. It's by that phone booth of love.
Anyway, it's available around the middle of Week 1. And Shockwave is a pretty easy psych to use. Put this in your first slot and pair it up with User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show., and that big bad Grizzly boss won't get a single hit in. But, by the middle of Week 2, the great Masamune has become obsolete. That's why Jupiter of the Monkey specializes in Shockwave and similar psychs. So here's what you do: use your SDPP to evolve it into User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.. That's Onikiri. Now, you could Mingle Masamune and turn it into Nenekiri, but I'm saving that line of pins for a different time. Turn that game off again and evolve Onikiri into the second best Shockwave out there, Kanesada.

Pin 084, Kanesada
This is great for bashing Noise. With an attack of 99, how could it not be? By the time you probably get this, you'll need it a lot because there's Taboo running around. Although I'm a nut and got it on Day 4. However, there is one important reason to keep around your old Masamune and snagging a spare for this instead. Tin Pin Slammer!
That's right, as great as Kanesada is against Noise, you'll need Masamune and probably Ice Risers in your pin slots when you take on Shuta. When you're finished with Tin Pin, enjoy how Kanesada dices your enemies. Honestly, there's no better way to understand its beauty than by using Kanesada after being stuck with only Masamune. For someone who doesn't understand pin efficiency, this is the best Shockwave pin out there.
Fun fact, Mus Rattus tries taking a stab at it, but all good shockwave pins are J of the M. Except the starter, but by this point no one cares about them.
Pair this up with another J of the M pin for great justice. User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. and User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. are my favorites to put with a Masamune or Kanesada. Any Shockwave for that matter.

Pin 240, Tin Pin Artist
I haven't actually used this one yet. Maybe I'll try it out tomorrow. Even if it is a terrible pin for battles, it was ridiculously ******** hard to win it from the three stooges. Of course, their slam was great practice for actual people. Not to mention the crap I'll have to wade through for Ifrit and Shiva (which they were using !?) and Bahamut.
Let me just say that the little one-on-one slams no longer seem like they were hard.
I had to break out Tin Pin Golem for it, which is pretty much useless in battle. Carcin and Bat pwn in Tin Pin!

Pin 198, Dope Line
When I first discovered the Massive Hit psych, I was very happy. Mainly because Nikkari had just started to become outclassed. You press on Neku for him to charge the attack and when you let go Neku, slashes at the enemy with a jump shot by summoning up a big sword. Now, the charge time is long and if you get interrupted you either lose your use or you give a lame hit instead of a massive hit. What's interesting to note is that this little purpley bugger from Wild Boar has the second highest attack rating. Obviously Anguis is the god pin or whatever. But this pin that you can get quite early on has an attack rating of 225. Which means that even at early levels you're doing at least 250 with one shot. Not factoring if it's in style or not. Sadly, like my personal favorite pin, this is far too slow to use effectivley against the bosses in the later stages of the game. I hate to say that but its true. Against slow-moving Blue Noise or anything else, this pin has a secure place in the listings as a definite above average pin.
Un42natley, that doesn't mean it's as good in a set as others. So it's good but it's hard to tell that it is.

The thing about Anguis is that under most certcumstances it's a one-shot pin. So it deals a button of damage, but you only use it once, and if you miss, too bad. I don't reccommend it for bosses, period.

♥ Aren't all Nexus Ray psychs one-shots? And, I was just comparing damage levels, I would probably use Big Bang/Bing Crunch or Bahamut instead of Anguis. For a little while anyway. Like how I switch to using Oathkeeper even though it's weak. ♥

No, the rest of them recharge after a while. Anguis doesn't.

♥ Really? Hmm, I'm not big on all-or-nothing attacks. Because for me it's usually nothing. By the way, the game is being a b***h and not giving me Ovis even though my star setting thingy was at 90 when I beat him. ♥

Yeah, this pin is wonderful. The answer to all your problems. Unlike pyrokinesis, flame blast is a psych that requires you to keep your stylus on empty space and not move. However, unlike pyrokinesis, it gives knockback. This also has an attack of 111. That's high. That's really high for being a pin available in week 2. It also makes Flames Afar, Foes Aflame and Final Pyre, All Expired pretty much obsolete because of the sheer amount of damage one can do, let alone two. Being a B class pin, you can have two of BBBB, and just sit back while you vaporize (literally) your opponents. Since I didn't get to have any of the weak pyrokinesis pins except Pyrokinesis, I had to wait for this one before I got me another flaming pin. And I gotta say, the wait is worth it for this bugger. If you're feeling frisky, have two of this pin and then Drake and just watch your enemies burn because that makes it almost a non-stop pillar of flame. The only downside is that you can't move the stylus when using the psych and it takes a few seconds longer than pyro. Meaning that against Sho and Kariya, you're better off filling your slots with a Support Boost + to give extra curing uses. But against enemies that don't zip around, this is probably the best pin until the game gets beaten. Also it's the pin that made me want to start doing this.
Fun fact: Because it evolves from User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show., you can actually have three of this in your deck. But as soon as you take the third one off I imagine you can't put it back on. Oh wow, could you imagine 3 BBBB and a Drake? And Her Royal Highness!? You wouldn't have to move at all! The fire would never stop going!

Hope's review rebuttal? lol. But FPAE gives knockback (meaning in this case, keeps them from moving) on smaller foes.

♥ BBBB does too. I think FPAE has a slightly higher attack rating but due to...... something.... those two pryrokinesis pins actually do about the same amount of damage. Which is pretty confusing to me. I mean, that Tin Pin Custom was misleading enough. ♥
